I’d say you give the Battlewagon the Ard Case when you got Nobz with Choppas, Klaws, or any form of close combat to get them into the thick of it. Then leave off the Ard Case when you got more Dakka Boyz inside.

just coming back here to say, especially after the points drop.. 20 Shoota Boys and a (disembarked) Mek, loaded into this with firing deck gives you about 65+ attacks hitting on a 4+, NOT to be sniffed at!
what would you think of a battlewagon outfitted for max occupancy - but load it up with individual character units. 3 warbosses, 3 mega warbosses, 3 weirdboyz, 3 beastbosses, snikrot, etc.... just a massive bomb of characters spilling out of this thing and causing mass havoc and devastation. there would be so many individual units that the enemy would need to split fire on everything, likely not even killing most of it.
Love a battlewagon, but totally agree, I much preferred having separate options like gunwagon, bone cruncha, etc. With no need to pay points everybody will simply take everything, that's boring 🤷♂
In 8th Ed, the Grabbin’ Klaw didn’t stop units from moving, it was simply a melee weapon you could give to the Battlewagon, with the same being in 9th. It may have in some of the last editions that I haven’t played.

It would be a handy thing to drop off its payload then just charge a unit and start stomping. Its payload being meganobz and big mek with two 5-Ork burna boyz to screen the aforementioned Meganobz.
Im still building up to 1K to play my first real games, but what I want to do is run a Battlewagon with every upgrade except the Killkannon to transport a Warboss in MA with 6 Meganobz and a Warboss with 5 Nobz, all the troops wieldinf Power Klaws. They'll unload and unleash melee havoc while the wagon goes nuts with all its weaponry... or at least, that's the idea!

Hopefully have two squads of two Mega-Nobz (6 Mega-nobz and 5 Mega-Nobz respectively) and then having a Waaagh Banner with a Pain Boy for the sustain. Then proceed to drop those gitz on an objective and try to deny the enemy control of it while I move troops on other objectives before the end of around turn 3.

With 3 x Fully upgraded Wagons ( including Ard case +Kill Kannon ) Wagon 1 - Super Cybork Megaboss + 5 Mega Nobz , Wagon 2 - with Force field MegaMek + 5 x Mega Nobz , Wagon 3 - 2 x Units Of 5 Nobz with a warboss each… which doesn’t leave much points left… but I got 1 x Trukk - 5x Nobz with Warboss and 5 x Lootaz, a grot squad and fully Tooled up Kommandoz ( all options) unit …. And that’s it… Will it suck ? I don’t know… but it’s tuff, fast and smashy….perfect!
The difference about the Ramshackle but Rugged ability is that it only worsens the AP characteristics, so AP -1 is the same as AP 0, so non-AP weapons have the same save characteristic for that SV 3+. you don't get an AP +1 after all, right? It's removing AP, not adding to your armor.
I guess it just makes 0 AP weapons just a bit stronger against it then? They have a chance to wound just the same as AP -1 weapons which are weapons designed to punch through light armor. But anyway, yay Deff Dreads!
all I can say is that its a matter of what you put in your army if you are using battlewagon if you are like me then max out your toughness and keep your beast units alive
I'm thinking I'll start using the wagon. I played a tournament this weekend and Ghaz got eaten alive. Time to get the mega armor warboss going now. 6 nobz and a boss will be a nice refreshing change of pace.
Battlewagon is a tough sale for me at the points. If we get point costed upgrades back then the bare minimum upgrade cheap one I always take will definitely come back in the list, but right now 185 is a lot especially if you put a full unit of nobz and it’s way too much to use the full transport capacity for 20 boyz.
I .ean 20 Boyz with Warboss and another Character is probably worth protecting. But damn! It's gonna attract alot of attention in the shooting phase! 😬
They must equilibrate better on the datasheets of the weapons, confront one to the others and not put all on it, zzap kannon if u want play "fun" give him stats from bubblechukka , btw this is weird. For my taste, the firing deck for a big model, dat have a possible good output of dakka maybe with a mek on back, should have grots on kannons and 4+ balistik skill... thanx for the video very apreciated!
How do I know the actual cost of my battlewagon...???😥 I want 22 transport slots and every other bells and whistles possible but I don't know what any of the weapons points costs....

I have to agree the free stuff in 10th is easy and nice... but none of my current models are suped up to rhe max so the feeling of oh i just get all the good stuff ot doty of breaks woth BM death rollers and snake bite kill kannoms. Face palm.
I've been running one every game with my bad moon boyz, and the fully loaded version fits my theme perfectly. I go with a kill kannon, deff rolla, and all the other dakka, and usually run a mek behind it for the +1 to hit. This still leaves room for a warboss and 10 nobz. So far i find it takes quite a lot of punishment, and has been worth the points. I just wish i could take a stripped down version with only the close combat weaponry as a secondary one.
Wait a min...on the Gun wagon, where did the Periscope Abilitie go?? the add 1 to the attack roll... so the best the battle wagon can do now is a 9???? you dont want to try and go toe to toe with a garv tank now... every one of my trucks/battle wagons is built to do a certain job. I dont care for this at all.. :(
Give it a Ard Case and pack it full of Meganobz and a Big Mek in mega armour. That will take some stopping and dish out a load of hurt

Yeah I think alot of vehicles from all factions suffer from this.

If you're looking to keep those meganobz going the distance, the big mek with force field is amazing, while still being able to dish out some damage.

I don’t think the kill cannon is worth sacrificing 50% of your transport capacity.

@@6Stevo you can always attach a weird boy to the 20 man unit so the boys can just jump with the boss.

Yeah it's gonna be hard for GW to balance all the weapons on each datacard. They have made things difficult for themselves there.

You can take a stripped down one. But it will feel unfair as you will pay the same points.
