I really don’t know what it is about your films, the cars, the music, or your narration, but I find them so relaxing and inspirational… I just want to run to my workshop and fettle one of my motorcycles😂. Keep em coming Gary, just mint!!!❤
Even though I am not a mechanic, there's something very comforting about listening to your content, Gary. And then there is the music which is spot on~
Bingewatching the complete Corniche bundle now i just bought exactly the same Corniche as yours Gary. Fantastic how you do the content, great help for the work i have to do to the car. What a joy 👌👌👌
Gary, Thanks for your reply from the last 190sl resto upload. What a luck man, that you are willing to fly across the pond from the UK to fix his car. I remember in the 80‘s you could buy a 190SL all day long for $10Grand. Wish I had bought one. They are soooo expensive nowadays! Thanks for all your lovely uploads, I really enjoy them! Greetings, Axel
I just watched a guy recondition the brake callipers on a car I am never likely to own, and enjoyed every second of it! I love the fact it's all so laid back, a joy to watch!
I worked with a very experienced auto spark a good few years back. He always advised not soldering wires in cars as it harden the wires and when they vibrated over time they would break. He always did proper crimping and a good connector body. These videos are great thanking you
Thoroughly enjoyed that Gary! Had one years back, More into American now. Miss it none the less. 1971. Whit of course.Entered the Acting World late 2019. Much to learn! Repaired cars for customers most of my life, now older, I can enjoy my own……..
Great work Gary, the gold spray paint gave me a flashback to the eighties with the BMC Gold Seal “reconditioned “ engines at Wyresdales machine shop in Aintree..long gone now .
As a car lover and "Between " projects... i really appreciate your videos. Im a sucker for all the new bits and boxes. You have such a smooth approach to!!
I thought you were going to put the caliper back on as is. I should know better having enjoyed so many of your videos. You cleaned me up and painted them as well. Thanks for the vids. As an ex pat in the USA for 42 years and having seen some really shoddy repairs and re commissioning over here - this is a real treat.
Thanks for this. Great to see that parts for this old Rolly Polly are still readily available from Introcar. It is more than great there are places like Introcar, flying spares etc that keep the RR / Btly fans going....!
It's an educational opportunity, that is exposing oneself to the world as it exists over the pond, seeing a Rolls-Royce getting it fair share of love and care. Thanks for the chance to look into another country's doings.e
More great work on the rolls. It would be nice if a sponsor gave you a hydro blasting cabinet to clean up the parts as well. M539 has one and it makes such a difference.
Great video very relaxing watching somebody else working on these old cars lol, just got an Aston Martin DB7 vantage dropped off for paintwork and detailing hopefully not a nightmare we'll see !!!!
Watching from Manila here. I just couldn't resist watching your videos . Well presented and informative. Although the cars we commonly use here are Japanese and Korean cars that's why I get fascinated watching those high end vehicles like the RR although we do now have a dealership in BGC that caters to rich Filipinos. I drive a 92 190E wc has been w me since the 2000s. More power Gary
Loving your videos on this rolls Royce and the other ones you do. Seriously giving me the confidence to buy one of these cars. Thanks and keep it up. Mark.
Hey Gary ! I love this old Girl and is my favourite of your Motors ♥ Really enjoyed this episode and gotta say you make these jobs look so straight forward (although Im sure theres lots of cursing and sweat edited out :-) She is one fine Motor car indeed and was great to see you both in the flesh at the NEC - George and I had a great day. Your Channel is absolute quality - keep em coming ! Cheers Stew
Some nice tips there Gary, like your improvisation for removing the pistons out of the calipers. I guess you've been doing this for the best part of 40 years! 🙂
Lovely video! Always enjoy watching you work on your beautiful black Corniche! I have A white one. The best thing since sliced bread. Thanks for the upload. Greetings from California👍😊
Gary, I want to apologise to you for a slightly dodgy comment I made last night. (Think it was the black RR). I love your videos, and you have achieved far more in your life than I have. From an apologetic Manc!
Blimey Gary you make it look easy ... I know it's not, it's amazing the engineering quality on even the smallest parts that make this car, I exchanged the foot dip switch on mine ....even the screws were machine turned with a machined tip at the end for locating when refitting which not many would appreciate ?
Watching from north east Thailand. My father was going to buy a used blue Cornish from James Young, Bromley, Kent in about 1975 after he sold his Wassmer Baladou (french 5 seater aircraft) but instead he bought a P6 3500. For a family car I think the P6 was a better choice! Great video.
I realigned a steering wheel on my old Merc 300CE a dozen times - it drove me bloody mad before I did it and even more when I got around to it, but was it so worth while when it was right! Little things like that mean a lot! See you in the Lygon Arms sometime!
Yep. Know what you mean. You’ll see in a later episode I did get around to it eventually. The XJS is another story. I’ve had the car tracked several times but it’s still cocked. Further investigation I think. Regards.
With the braking systems of these old-school Rolls_Royce and Bentley cars. You try never to suddenly brake hard, instead you glide to a complete stop 🛑 !. And you start doing so at least 30 seconds in advance...................😂
brilliant mechanic and car gary makes it look easy thanks for all the great episodes sir. are you going to look at the ball bearing that caused it in the first place so it dont happen again
I thought you were talking about the roof hydraulics 😀 lovely car. I once moved house with a Corniche as my removal van 😅 black and white portable tv poking out of the boot, James Bond theme tunes blasting on the 8 track.. 😂
Hi Gary - love your channel - noticed a photo of Steve McQueen on the wall - do you know one of his last cars was a late 70s black Rolls Corniche? He used to play Saturday Night Fever in it acc Barbara Minty his last wife. That car is in a collection in Las Vegas now I believe. All the best - Joe
Hi Joe. I know, an actor with taste!!… Barbrara Minty came to Liverpool and screened the Hunter on the 30th anniversary of his death 2010, along with a photo exhibition in the city centre. Don’t know why, all seemed a bit weird and sad… Pic on the wall is Numan. Regards.
So what happens with the G valve? Did you service that as well? Loved the episode! You’re getting us all prepared for the big coronation …. A British GUY working on a Rolls Royce.
Hi. No. This will probably happen once or twice during its ownership and you simply have to pull over, switch off engine, put ignition back on until both lights on the dash illuminate again after pumping that pedal, then G Valve will reset Itself and you’re good to go again. If only I knew this when it happened to me!! Regards.
I have to hand it to you Gary, you really know what you are doing....are you self taught? I could strip it down, difference between me and you....I could never work out where all the bits went for re-assembly 😉 With the amount of work you do at home, I am surprised you haven't installed a vehicle hoist. Even if the garage height wouldn't allow full lift, half way would make a lot of your work easier...
Gary, like your videos, but one small criticism....please, put the lid back on the grease tin as soon as you've finished each task, leaving it open will allow airbourne dirt, etc, to settle on the tin contents.
Yes. It is a similar set up will spheres (accumulators) and valves underneath them. You just have to switch off and depressurise the system with the ignition on and engine off pumping pedal till both light come on again and it resets. Regards.
Hey Gary, love the videos! Question for you, do you know of any wheel clamps that would work for a car with wire wheels, my Healey has no door looks so want to protect it if i leave it somewhere when i take it out. Thoughts appreciated.
I had a 1969 Daimler 250 years ago & the fuel pump was in the boot. I fitted a switch in the cable and just ‘switched off’ the pump and locked the boot. On the odd occasion I forgot to switch it back on I only travelled 30 yards before it ran out of fuel!
Forgive me Gary , I am not privileged own a Rolls Corniche but with the headlight gaskets could you have not removed bulb wires behind them to save cutting the gaskets ? Always enjoyed your vids particularly on this car.
I feel like these videos should be compulsory viewing for any real remaining petrol heads out there... I like also that you often repair and not replace.
Hi Gary . i have a 1981 corniche .i am looking to fix my soft top. where did you buy your wood bows from ? i think you said Poland i probably will replace all .I asked Roy Cameron for your number but he did not have his phone with him . can you help
Ha! Sorry. Yes. But I should’ve released the bulb holders to do the job properly but I didn’t want to get into that as you know the score with ceased bulb holders!! Regards..
The way the UK is going, the government will be sending operatives around yer homes to take these old classics away from the enthusiast. So enjoy whilst you can😢
The braking systems on these cars are absurd. I am certain you could retrofit an entire normal system with a standard master cylinder, calipers, rotors, and brake lines for a few thousand dollars and never worry about them again. And buy a torque wrench.
I really don’t know what it is about your films, the cars, the music, or your narration, but I find them so relaxing and inspirational… I just want to run to my workshop and fettle one of my motorcycles😂. Keep em coming Gary, just mint!!!❤

Wow, ive never felt so relaxed watching brakes being repaired. Great Video Gary.
Great content Gary. I love the fact you do this in your own garage without any special tooling.

Another totally immersive video Gary, thanks so much for making them. The interior renovation you did looks to be holding up beautifully.
I worked with a very experienced auto spark a good few years back. He always advised not soldering wires in cars as it harden the wires and when they vibrated over time they would break. He always did proper crimping and a good connector body. These videos are great thanking you
Nice video.
I like that you do this at your own place and not using a auto lift.
It shows that regular people can fix these cars at home.

Absolutely brilliant Gary. Fantastic workmanship, step by step and great tips too.

More great work on the rolls. It would be nice if a sponsor gave you a hydro blasting cabinet to clean up the parts as well. M539 has one and it makes such a difference.
Thanks Gary for another incredible piece of work and engaging episode! 🙌

Lucky the cylinders weren’t damaged yanking the rusted up cylinders… they really needed soaking first….
Could you have reconditioned the cylinders?
Lovely video! Always enjoy watching you work on your beautiful black Corniche! I have
A white one. The best thing since sliced bread. Thanks for the upload. Greetings from California👍😊

That's about the most relaxed brake overhaul I have ever seen - let's hope my Continental R brake job is as easy
I love your care for your car.
Great job there Gary lad
There's some beautiful piano music!
The satisfaction from doing these jobs yourself, must be immense, i know it is just watching it.👍

Great video Gary, missed you at the Nec, had a good look round the Rolls and Lotus 👍🏻😀
Excellent video. I enjoyed it very much. It is very informative.
Brilliant as always.... watched with a cup of tea and a few choc biccies... great intelligent content. 😊
Many thanks. I think you may have another to watch as I released 2 episodes last week. Thanks for your continued support. Regards.

Thanks again Gary. Crooked steering wheel is about as annoying as it gets!
A dry ice blast of the bottom of that Rolls would look good.
Hi Gary 👋 love the channel, but would like more uploads 😜
I thought you were talking about the roof hydraulics 😀 lovely car. I once moved house with a Corniche as my removal van 😅 black and white portable tv poking out of the boot, James Bond theme tunes blasting on the 8 track.. 😂

I almost Dread to think what my six and four piston brembos might cost to rebuild, wasn't expecting to see a 4 Pots on the rear on these cars.

What about the "G" valve. Did you overhaul it in the end?
Hi Malcolm, no. You just need to de-pressurise the system with ignition on, engine off pumping pedal and the GValve resets. Regards.
Wooly jumpers are en vouge 😊
So on a Citroen there is a Accumulator and a de-pressure screw. The RR doesn't have something similar? Thanks for the video, great stuff
Yes. It is a similar set up will spheres (accumulators) and valves underneath them. You just have to switch off and depressurise the system with the ignition on and engine off pumping pedal till both light come on again and it resets. Regards.
