Ajay Devgn immensely overshadowed every other actor's performance in this movie. He single handedly nailed his villainous character to a new level. I guess this is his legendary character ever.

Originally Akshaye Khanna was supposed to play the role of Yashwant Angrey. But that role went role went Ajay Devgan who coincidentally wanted to play as a policeman along with Akshay Kumar. But because of some reason Akshaye Khanna left the film & Ajay Devgan replaced Akshaye Khanna & Tushar Kapoor roped in to play as a policeman. Rest is history

Amitabh Bachchan was the first person to be cast in the film. Akshaye Khanna was supposed to play the role of Sub-Inspector Ashwin Gupte, and Ajay Devgn was offered the role of Senior Inspector Shekhar Verma. While Khanna walked out, Devgn was chosen to play the villain, Yashwant Aangre, making it his second film as an antagonist after the 2002 thriller Deewangee. Later, Tusshar Kapoor was signed for the role of Ashwin Gupte. Lara Dutta was also signed for an item number "Aisa Jadoo". After several actresses rejected, the role of Mahalakshmi, Aishwarya Rai was finalized for the part. Akshay Kumar, who was signed to play Shekhar Verma, worked with Amitabh Bachchan for the third time after Ek Rishtaa: The Bond of Love and Aankhen.

I think that is one of the iconic movie scenes from entire Bollywood movies.
This movie is easily in my top 25 movies of all time. Great story and cast, superb acting, memorable songs, and a satisfying end to the movie. This movie plays with your emotions, making you upset, sad, laugh, and cry.

Saw this movie as a teen and been a fan since. Story, music, acting and action everything soo spot on. Wada raha is my most fav song of all time.
Khakee and Aankhen are 2 of my favorite films from the 2000s. Both starring Big B and Khiladi along with the lovely Ash and Sush in one of each film. I wish they made such nice entertaining thrillers today. Paisa vasool hits!

This was a masterclass. Some of my comments.
- Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya Rai, Tusshar Kapoor and Atul Kulkarni have played great roles.
- Ajay Devgn was superb as the dreaded villain Angre.
- Bengali actor Sabyasachi Chakraborty did well as the corrupt minister Deodhar, when he's normally in a positive role in Bengali cinema.
- Prakash Raj made his mark from this movie in Hindi cinema.
- Atul Kulkarni's character should have never been killed off.
- Akshay Kumar's character getting killed in the stadium is still a shocking and gruesome scene even after 17 years.
- Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar deserved awards, it is still shocking how both of those actors didn't win an award for their roles.
If a sequel is to be done, I think Amitabh Bachchan should have a special appearance or not be involved at all, he would be too old to do action scenes and maybe replaced by Manoj Bajpai. Also, Tusshar Kapoor will not be part of the film as he's no longer in demand. Some new actors who should probably be involved are the Khurana brothers - Ayushman and Aparshakti (who shouldn't play siblings), Siddharth Malhotra, Vicky Kaushal and instead of an actress playing a double-agent, it should be a corrupt cop playing that. The corrupt politician should be played by Govinda, yes he does comic roles, but he will not do any dancing and comedy in it. The director should probably be someone else.

Don't remember how many times I watched this movie but its not less than a dozen times, I believe. There are very few movies that are made with lot of passion, research and hard work. I like movies when they can be compared with a work of art; Check any aspect of this movie, like its script, screenplay, dialogues, the actors' performance (even the junior artists), editing and anything that you wish, they all are done so brilliantly and clearly exhibit work of expert hands. Always gives thrills and 'goosebumps' when I watch this movie, especially, how AD stands 'heavy' against all other biggies even in his negative shades. Kudos to the entire team, RS, AB, AD, AK and all who worked together to produce this excellent piece of artwork!!!

FROM START TO END TOP CLAS STORY, ACTING, DIRECTING, LYRICS AND MUSIC, BIT SAD THAT THIS MOVIE DIDN'T GET ANY AWARD AND BEEN UNDERRATED IN 2003.

The train fight, the library fight, Amitabh's belt fight and last, but not the least, the encounter in the end make this a true action movie. Say what you may about Tushar Kapoor's role, he has the last, cold blooded laugh which the other officers couldn't achieve.
