- This was one of the most fun kitchen cleanings I have ever done. Gisele and her husband live in this home. Gisele is one of the kindest people I have ever met with one of the most soothing voices. She has been a long-time subscriber of my channel and, since she also lives in Utah, contacted me to see if I could help her get to some of the deep cleaning in her home that she has not been able to get to because of some health issues and also recently breaking her foot. After meeting with her and seeing her home, there was no way I could turn down to chance to help her. She even sweetened the deal by buying all of my favorite products so that I didn't have to haul up any of my own!
This was a paid cleaning and, though not as big of a transformation as some of the homes that I clean for free, there is some pretty satisfying content in this video. I hope you enjoy!

A few nights ago I had a big clean up to do in my kitchen. My husband spent the afternoon making a huge pot of spaghetti sauce with 4 kinds of meat in it, a tray of baked ziti and chicken Parmesan. We had our son and his spouse over for dinner to celebrate their birthdays. My husband did a lot of the cleanup as he cooked, which was a life saver, but there was still a lot to do after the meal. I decided to think about how fortunate I am to have so much food to share, people to share it with, tools to prepare it with and the ability to clean it up. That shift in perspective made the work go so much faster and I finished feeling grateful. So blessed to have a husband who likes to cook on weekends and (sometimes) cleans up as he goes. ❤❤❤

I love how she decorated this kitchen, and I love seeing one that’s a little more modest in size and older than a lot of the other videos. Actually it looks kind of luxurious compared to mine - I probably have about a third of that amount of counter space. It’s nice to see a white kitchen that has a lot of color added in the accessories and the wall covering.

Love the idea of putting the oven racks in the trash bag. Never seen that before. Great cleaning ❤😊
I may actually clean mine now! I was too intimidated by the mess it would make.
I put mine in the bathtub on a towel. Use hot water and dishwasher detergent to soak the racks. Gunk comes right off. Good for bbq grill racks too.
I’ve used the plastic bag method for cleaning oven racks before but added a half cup of Sudsy Ammonia instead of spray cleaner. The fumes are awful but it worked really well. I rinsed and scrubbed the racks outside to avoid being overcome by the ammonia fumes. I got the stubborn bits off with a 3M scrubbing pad, the green one.

I really like the idea ,too. Whole lot better than worrying about removal one day of wallpaper or the sticky contact stuff. So many pretty fabrics to choose from,and so fun deciding. Now I just need to know what kind of pins to use.

I was glad to learn that she is taking steps to protect herself from those negative and unpleasant people. Self care is also a good business practice.
I do plan to add a few more moderators to my channel who have the capability of removing negative comments. Even if I never see them, I agree that it just doesn't belong in this community and I don't want others to have to see the negativity either, so hopefully having a few more moderators will help with that.😊

Wow, I really don't like to cook either, Bonnie. I'm a master of the stir fry - one pan only. Forget five pans and 25 ingredients! My daughter is the "chef" in the family. I don't have the patience 🙂. Love watching the grease come off of things.

The pink stuff PASTE is far better than the cream. I still prefer power paste but you're right, the Pink Stuff soft scrub is not my fave. I save it for minor scrub needs.

I'm glad your back. It was fun to see all the creative ways she has utilized the space. I'm very blessed as my first husband that passed away did all the cooking and then I met my second husband a few years after, and he does all the cooking as well. Except on his golf days. But he doesn't mind ordering a pizza or I will cook occasionally. Great job!

Wow! I have to go watch you clean the oven video --- I didn't realize it could be so simple to remove the door let alone open that panel to clean the oven window! We no longer use the stove but it is holding things so it would be really nice to have it get a thorough deep clean (since it will stay that way). Have a 1 burner induction cook top, Instant Pot, Crock Pot, Toaster Oven, Bread Machine, microwave oven, Griddler, and a toaster to do all the hot cooking here. Way more diverse than a 4 burner gas stove and a single oven could ever be. And all those other things are WAY easier to clean and each have their own home to fly back to when we're done using them. Now the stove has become more counter space (which is in very short supply) thanks to a couple of IKEA counter top cutting boards. While the gas is still connected the stove is unplugged so there is no chance of a fire either.
I wonder if I could get really good at doing oven cleaning then start it as a business? I know you miss out on the "overnight" sit for the chemicals, but it would be such a satisfying job to do for people who cannot at all do the task. Hmmm?

Love this kitchen! It’s small but it looks so well organized that it’s absolutely workable. It reminds me of my kitchen in my old apartment - I had my husband put up some shelves that we took down when we moved and I bought a rolling kitchen cart too! I had the microwave on it and also my cookbooks and some kitchen towels. It was a lifesaver because it saved me precious counter space for meal prep.
My current kitchen in our house is HUGE and I love it but I cooked just as much in that little apartment kitchen and the meals were just as elaborate. I even baked breads and the most complicated pastries and cakes I could with my skill level. My kitchen now is gray and white and black with pops of red and aqua. I also have enough room for a 10 gallon aquarium! I love my kitchen.

I sympathize with your husband....adjuncting at multiple institutions is really hard, from what I hear. And bless, lots of nights the question of dinner makes me want to cry.
My husband used to work for a company that makes high temperature insulation fiber like the stuff in the oven door. It's used for furnaces, kilns, and in catalytic converters in cars, among other things. Just a weird little factoid for you.

Bonnie, I am EXACTLY like you about cooking dinner. I also don’t feel like we have to eat every meal during the day. I’m a snicker. I prefer just nibbling on something quick and easy. Not the healthiest lifestyle, but that’s just me. I CRINGE when I’m asked, “what’s for dinner?” Ugh! You did a fantastic job on this kitchen. I wish you lived in California. I also hate cooking every day! And because of that, we have had a 'system' for years and it serves us well. At weekends we parents cook HUGE batches of (at least) 2 or 3 different saucy thingies. From scratch. My spouse does the washing, slicing, cutting, chopping up, opening cans (tomato paste, sweet corn etc.) and I do the rest. Usually these foods are Indian, Mexican and Italian type chilis, dhalis, spaghetti sauces etc. Then, we put the majority of those into the freezer, in meal-size containers. With inscription, of course. And then, during the work/school week, we quickly cook rice or pasta (or sometimes instant mashed potatoes) and reach for those sauces, warm them up and voilà, easy peasy home cooked meal. Usually we can not eat everything during the week so we have meals from the previous weekends too and that means we have always at least 3-4 different kind of stuff to choose from😊. We have two freezers, which helps😅

Loved the oven cleaning, especially the sped up glass scraping. Every time I see you clean an oven I run to see if I really can´t remove the door from my oven, then I check the manual, then I google... Nope; I can´t. You have helped me to overcome some fear of tackling my oven cleaning so thank you for that.

Thank you for this nice video! I have a question for all American viewers here: is it customary to always sanitize/disinfect the kitchen surfaces in the US? I just wipe them clean with water and sometimes dishsoap and I do not know of any other people in Germany (where I live) who sanitize. Might be a cultural thing? Help me out here folks 😊
Yes we sanitize we have big palmetto roaches they come in when it rains in southeast USA
It depends on what part of the country you live in. You can fit 30 European countries into the states that lie between Mexico and Canada. We have about 10,000,000 sq km and it’s all different climates.
@katwitanruna of course, the climate, this makes total sense! I just didn't think of this being a factor. Maybe we're a little spoilt here 😉
I don't disinfect my kitchen either, unless I handled raw chicken or something like that. I just use dish soap or water 99% of the time. I'm from the UK.
I just usually clean with soap and water. I will disinfect after meat or seafood prep and before doing something like kneading bread dough on the counter. Upstate NY.

I had rusty areas around my stainless steel sink. Pink stuff was the best thing even compared to Bar Keeper's Friend. If there's an area that doesn't come clean in an oven, tub or sink... pink stuff is my new go-to.

That wallpaper was making me dizzy when you were scrolling. LOL. It is really difficult to have room for everything you use if you have a small kitchen, which I do. I remedied that by putting things I rarely used on a shelving unit in my basement. Crock pot, mixer, large roasting pans. All my extra aluminum foil, plastic wrap, freezer bags, parchment paper, are kept in a storage container. I keep three extras of each. It was difficult for me to let go of things in the beginning, like extra frying pans, etc. but I realized later, I didn't really need them.

I cannot even remember the last time I looked at the bottom of my cabinets. I’m very afraid. But this was such a cute kitchen! I love that mid-century kitschy vibe with the bright colors. Fits it so perfectly. I remember one of my best friends in junior high had a big sister who used fabric on her walls in her room. It was so Summery looking. It had a yellow/gold background and white flower pattern on it. Like batik. On top of that, she looked amazing in a bikini and had long blond hair and her boyfriend was a lifeguard in Santa Monica. We really looked up to her. I’m glad you decided to post this video. Great way to “get your feet wet” again. Now I’m pretty sure I already liked that video in question, but imma go check. It's so fun that your friend's sister used fabric on her walls, too! I have used sheets to cover my cardboard walls in my basement (yes, I have stapled up cardboard to create walls in my unfinished basement...haha), but I had never even thought about using colorful fabric as almost a wallpaper in a room. I'm redoing some stuff in my office right now and I think I'm going to do this on at least one of my walls because I love it so much! A batik would be amazing! 😊💕

Giselle and I have the same taste. My happy little 2005 kitchen has cabinets painted the same color as that cute trivet....with walls a few shades lighter. White appliances. I love the MCM look, and I have gone pretty nutty (my lifelong MO in home decorating since 1978) on the colors, flamingos, furniture, lamps, etc. Love that fabric...it and the border along the bottom would make the cutest apron! Thank you for showing that happy little kitchen some love Bonnie.

I know exactly what you mean when you say, "Why do we have to eat?!" I hate having to come up with ideas, thinking about ingredients, etc. It's so incredibly taxing to my brain and makes my burnout worse. My husband cooks dinner most of the time. It's not that I can't cook, but it's always the furthest from my mind and the most boring and time-consuming chore for me. I can accomplish so many other things in the time it takes me to prep, cook, eat, and clean up dinner. I would never get anything done if I had to cook too.
