woo hoo! Great to see a Smiths thing being appreciated! I really want to get my hands on one of these, they are weirdly hard to find over here and they're pretty collectable. I did have a slightly later design which didn't have the plastic crystal but I sold it before I started on RUclips. The movements looks really well built and could probably run with a quart of kitchen grease all over it. As for the balance wheel popping out, I can think of 2 reasons why - 1. the vibrations caused the balance cup to loosen, might be worth putting thread locker on it... and 2. I've noticed the top plate doesn't look like it's fully pressed onto the pillars on both sides, it looks like one side of it has popped open slightly. Great video!
