Best part was when Dankus got his tanks sunk in the Indian Ocean, his chat screamed streamsniping, when it was actually a bunch of random Allied ships on convoy raiding that caught them, the Allies noticing this and sending an entire fleet after them.
Palau is basically a more pointless version of Iwo Jima historically. Probably because the geniuses who planned it gave it the codename Operation: Stalemate.

You could easily do that in game as well. Edit: it was easier IRL because even the 2 km² islands could become an airfield, but those don't exist in HoI4.

Yeah, it makes no sense from a historical-narrative standpoint, but it incentivizes fighting in both theaters and not just stacking the Burman line and then conceding the rest of Asia to Japan.
It's been changed since this stream. Now the debuffs only kick in once the Germans go to war with the Soviet Union. This decentivises using the Axis using the Debuff to safari in Africa or clown car into Iran.

Honestly the best part of these videos is that you can immediately tell which nations Swimmy and golden are playing. Endlessly invading the same island for fun is definitely a Swimmy maneuver, and golden usually figures out how to lose no matter what

The attempted invasions of Palao might as well have been this game's version of the Isonzo with how many invasions there were, as for the debuff though its kinda stupid that the mod would penalize you for losing which would only ensure that you lose again therefore repeating the problem until you lose the entire war in Europe because you or your AI's (This is a MP mod I presume though) were neglectful in Asia.
Its to ensure the allies and japan have a reason to actually fight over the islands in the pacific since logistics isnt modeled well enough to actually make them do that. Also its to stop the western allies from essentially ignoring japan and dogpiling the european axis.
