These are not included. Unique 2+3 RAID mode: hard drives #1 & #2 can be configured as RAID 0, RAID 1, or Single disk. The remaining drives #3-5 work as single, independent drives.
Adopts real SUPERSPEED USB 3.1 (Gen1) Type-C interface, the read/write speed is up to 410MB/s (SSD in RAID 0). Compatible with Mac, Windows, and Linux computers, and also works with computers possessing the Thunderbolt 3 interface. This is a DAS, NOT a NAS. Awesome review MARI. I like that box. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible night. Much love. Hugs
Thanks buddy, hope you have a beautiful evening.
I think allot of people get these units and really don't understand the USB side of things when it relates to speed and are disappointed. This device supports the UASP protocol and without a computer port that supports UASP; speeds will be greatly reduced. With a normal desktop you can get a external card and in my case I purchased a 20gig per second cable USB-c to USB-c. I went from 19mbps to 225mbps. Over the network I get speeds of 130mbps. Good way to check how you are connected or rather connected properly is to run Crystal disk info and check that the connection type to a drive in the box is (UASP (Serial ATA). Adding a converter cable may introduce a bottle neck so watch for that when looking for speed. Just some thoughts.
Great overview! What happens in the case of the unit losing power (like a power outage)? Does it turn on by itself automatically or do you need to hit the power button again?
It will automatically turn on once it's connected back to a power source.
@@marisreviewchannel Awesome! Thanks for the info
Happy to help!
Thanks for the video. How does the RAID work?
what RAID really means is that it stores the files in a different place on multiple hard disks or solid-state drives.
Thanks for the review. I just want to make sure you’re aware that your hard drives aren’t in raid. You set the hardware raid in the terramaster software. Without doing that you are in JBOD with zero data redundancy. Sorry if you covered that in the video!
Ok I'm new to all of this sorry if I ask dumb questions:
1. What does raid mean?
2. Are server hdds different from hdds we connect to our motherboard?
Sorry again
BTW great video
Redundant array of inexpensive disks" or "redundant array of independent disks is a data storage virtualization technology that combines multiple physical disk drive components into one or more logical units for the purposes of data redundancy, and performance improvement.
Yes, server hard disk drives (HDDs) are different from HDDs connected to a motherboard. Server HDDs are more reliable and perform better than consumer HDDs due to their superior construction. Server HDDs are mechanical hard disks that include a spindle, disk platter, actuator, actuator arm, and read/write head.
I hope this information has helped you.
Do you know if you can add a drive from another computer without formatting the drive?
if its the same OS then no format may be need to be done, being these were used for windows, I had to format the drives.
It's all Greek to me mami!! 🤷🏾💛💙🤣🙂💯
