What’s your favorite kaiju era? Including Gamera, Godzilla, and anyone else.
Is it possible to love them all? Because I love all of them equally.
The 80s to 90s are my favorite Kaiju film era. Gamera Heisei films, Vs Biolantte, and Rebirth of Mothra are top tier
I haven't watched much outside of Gamera and Godzilla but Heisei was just such a fantastic time for both of them, of the two kaiju vs. King Ghidorah is probably the weakest movie either had in the time period and it's still an absolute blast imo
The classic Godzilla era is my favorite as well as the monsterverse
@@ginofrancejr555 dude there's 3 classic eras, which one?
It’s astonishing that these movies are so overlooked. They are downright some of the BEST examples of how to do a reboot, a kaiju movie, and a trilogy, and I am SO upset that they are rarely to never talked about outside of the kaiju fanbase.
I really hope these movies get some form of theatrical rerun so the public can be more aware of these masterpieces.
The Gamera Heisei films were the original Shin Godzilla and Monsterverse.
These would have been better films to watch in theaters rather than the 98 Godzilla.
Frankly, I'm extremely grateful that Tokusatsu as a whole has not gone completely mainstream. US studios and audiences have a MASSIVE ego problem where they don't respect the source material; they only care about changing it to something that they themselves can understand. Whatever it was beforehand never matters to them, and any fans who get upset by the changes are accused of gatekeeping.
@@toasega I mean....to be fair, the MV has shown tokusatsu is niche in America but can still be done right by the right people in charge and in all honesty, I prefer that than having tokusatsu be niche and not be attempted by anyone in America period. But you aren't wrong.
I've seen people who aren't godzilla fans accuse godzilla fans of being close minded and hypocritical to change and new ideas regarding godzilla 1998 even though again....these people aren't fans and are missing the entire point of why godzilla fans disliked that film years ago and why that film fails as a godzilla film. We aren't gatekeeping for making valid criticism towards something drastically changed to the point it doesn't represent the source material properly.
Only times gatekeeping is probably necessary is when a non fan tries to act like they know more than even the average godzilla or tokusatsu fan
@@toasega indie Toku projects are the way forward. I wouldn't say that all Hollywood Toku projects have been bad. Pacific Rim and the Monsterverse films were pretty good.
Heisei Gamera didn't just redefine the title monster, it redefined the kaiju genre. Special effects were totally off the charts, at times even beating out TOHO during this period, IMO. I can't praise these Gamera films enough for the spectacle and the sheer magic they provided for viewers. I never get tired of rewatching them. My personal fave is Gamera vs. Legion. And you just can't beat a flying Gamera that resembles a giant hurling shuriken. Thank you for this retrospective.
While I hate executive meddling I think going for a lighter tone was a good choice for the first movie. Starting off from a simple, hopeful place before getting into the messed up stuff helps the movies have a sense of progression with the darkness slowly creeping in.
yeah, darkness needs light to stand out. If everything is dark is just blends together.
Agreed, there is definitely progression in the trilogy in more ways than one, and that's why I love it so. The continuity in the movies with recurring characters and their growth, and locations still being wrecked from past monster battles and the references made to them throughout, that helps with world building a lot ultimately. By the last movie, you get to see what Gamera is like minus the human connection; a force of nature unleashed and unrestrained with minimal concern for the tiny human insects under his feet, which makes Honami's words at the end of "G2" all the more frightening.
The best part is that Gamera herself grows together with the movies, starting as a familiar friendly face and ending it as a shattered horrific beast
@@tiolloyd9555 and a terrifying one at that.
We’ve reached the time when a turtle overthrew the king. And yet Gamera’s Heisei films are still the best of the genre.
Overthrew is incredibly miss leading. Godzilla has already finished the Heisei run by the time Gamera was getting ready to start his Heisei Run.
While the Heisei Trilogy is undoubtedly stellar examples of Kaiju eiga to call them the "Best" of the genre is one hell of a stretch.
@@m.valdivia8048 if it took the spot of being the top dog in kaiju movies at the time, that’s overthrowing it. Doesn’t matter if Godzilla ended or not. If the gamera movies were bad, they wouldn’t even touch Godzilla’s spot. Just that Godzilla took it back. And if Godzilla took a break and gamera took it’s chance, that still means it did take over the throne for a few years. And I’m not really sure if the millennium era took it back. As for best of the genre, debatable
@@Dookieman1975 Eh idk about that but to each their own
@@Dookieman1975I agree.
@@m.valdivia8048 It is a stretch because for some reason you can't praise it without bringing Godzilla into this. Like it can't support itself like this series has some younger sibling syndrome. I even think that 90s Gamera does win with Heisie Godzilla in most categories (but not all of them and frankly I'm more likely to watch Godzilla more often). And likewise Heisei Godzilla was a success as it ended on its own terms to critical and financial (better than Gamera's not that box office dictates what is better but speaking of "dethroning"). I think 1995-2006 Gamera movies are up there with the best of the genre but overall as a franchise, as an icon, as the "king" there's just no competition. I'd be like saying Mission Impossible is greater than James Bond because the audience connects better to MI than the current generation of Bond.
I'm a simple guy.
If my boy Matty Drapes makes a video on a Kaiju I'm all the way in.
I adore Gamera The Brave. It’s a kids movie but with heavy themes and the heisei trilogy’s production value. A perfect blend of Showa and Heisei Gamera.
Interesting fact the actor who plays Asagi is Steven Segal's daughter. This video was truly documentary level quality. It's an amazing job On a great hero of Kaiju's thank you.
I remember watching James Rolfe’s reviews of the trilogy way back in the day and then suddenly finding the trilogy on Blu-Ray out of the blue at Target for $10. I’ve been a fan since.
Absolutely LOVE Heisei Gamera and I frequently rewatch them constantly!
Anyone who firmly believes in the stereotype of Kaiju films being “Japanese men in cheap rubber suits stomping around on crappy miniature sets” needs to be sat down and shown Gamera 3, particularly that Shibuya scene😉
Unfortunately those people won't watch films like these unless they have a very open mind to watching stuff with subtitles, uses practical effects and let alone isn't American. Even when you tell them or show them that outdated misconception of theirs is wrong, they either won't care it's wrong or will act shocked but not impressed
They'll just watch the ones with CGI it doesn't matter if it's American or Japanese they just hate watching the older movies
Something about Gamera letting out a loud shrill as the oncoming attack approches gives me goosebumps.
Gamera VS Legion is my favorite kaiju tokasatsu movie of all time. For me, it has all the elements I like in this kind of movie rolled into one.
Watching the exploration of these films fills me with awe, respect and an overwhelming frustration of having being unable till now to experience them for myself. These are true works of art that help prove that is never too late for redemption and give us strength. It help me realize my respect for Gamera, just as much as I admire Godzilla.
Gamera Rebirth can't come soon enough. In the Guardian of the Universe we trust.
These movies are so great. I remember stumbling upon a box set of the trilogy films when I was younger and having no idea what Gamera was, but thinking it looked cool. One of the neatest spur of the moment purchases I made.
Yo Matt, fantastic video!!! This is one of the those very rare occasions that Gamera has finally stepped out from Godzilla's shadow to become a well respected trilogy of films that is lauded by many to be simply one of the greatest kaiju trilogy. It was a perfect chance for the friend of all children to make a name for himself and with the talents behind it really helps make the giant turtle really respected. Hell, even Roger Ebert of all people enjoyed guardian of the universe!! Legion is my personal favorite but i will give gamera the brave much needed love. It's an exciting time for kaiju fans right now and it's awesome to see both Godzilla and Gamera to be in the spotlight!!!!
The three best daikaiju movies made, without a doubt. I liked your assessment of them. One thing I'd like to mention as well is how the female characters grow and progress throughout the trilogy, with Dr. Nagamine and Asagi both becoming stronger and more assertive by the third movie. Dr. Nagamine's outburst at the hospital when attempting to rescue Ayana is a good example of this, because most of the time in Japan people just don't do such things, never mind women. That and Honami in "Attack of Legion" being as spunky and outgoing and energetic as she is throughout. She's a great character, because she's not a wallflower. Also, the arc that Inspector Osako undergoes throughout the trilogy is one of the most notable character arcs in all the movies, I think. I remember goggling at the level of destruction in the first Gamera battle in "Revenge of Irys" the first time I saw it, because that is, as you mentioned, not something you saw in daikaiju movies at the time. I only own "Gamera the Brave" because I'm a completist, and I don't care for it near as much as the trilogy. But yes, I watch the trilogy frequently and absolutely love it.
Just a perfect Kaiju trilogy, i hope we get too see Gamera on the big screen again soon
Heisei G and G are both the epitome of kaiju films to me. Also, love the Nakamura music in the background. 💯
As much of a Godzilla nut I am, Gamera basically owner the Heisei era thanks to this amazing trilogy. They're not only great kaiju films, and just ovwrwll great movies in general.
It’s always a pleasant surprise to open my RUclips up to a new Matt Draper video. But covering my holy trilogy of kaiju flicks? What gods did I please?
I love the Heisei series. The trilogy is so good I wish we got a Gamera 4 to see him battle the Gyaos swarm. The whole tone of was great and the ost is fantastic.
One thing that I love about this particular era is how overwhelming are the forces that Gamera fights, he's constantly bleeding and at the edge of defeat, but rather than glorifying something like channeling the Mana around the world to stop the legion, it's rather ambiguous for that leaves him at the mercy of Gyaos and Iris, even the final shot of the trilogy finale is in the words of it's director "About faith, if you believe he defeats the horde of Gyaos, then he probably will, if not, then it's all lost"...
While Godzilla is destruction incarnated and re-incarnated, Gamera is the equivalent in hope , something that leaves me thinking on how Gamera the Brave is sort of a spiritual sequel to the Heisei Trilogy, for it begins with a battle against a horde of Gyaos, yet Gamera sacrifices itself to destroy them and the whole movie is about him regaining it's very name.
Such an incredible series, I hope that Rebirth anime is better than the Netflix Anime Godzilla ones...
Explained it perfectly! Godzilla is awesome in every way, but gamera is the underdog and fights till he has nothing left.
Another key thing is in Gamera 2 and 3.... Gamera NEEDs the Humans to save him. It's not like in Godzilla where, not always, but often, the Humans basically fail at life all movie... In Gamera, the Humans may not be as powerful as Kaiju, but they get stuff done.
Also.... the ending of Gamera 3... has an implication that is... weird. Ayana... who is arguably the true villain of the movie.... apparently goes off to raise a family with the guy who was working as the guardian of the shrine she stole the Iris egg from. I guess he's going to make sure she stays out of trouble for the next 50 years or so? hehehe....
well the anime was better but that's really not saying a lot
Considering you've done Godzilla and Gamera, I'd love to see you do other Japanese franchises: like Ultraman, Kamen Rider and Super Sentai.
I can't believe these films came from, like, 1995-2006 because the special effects are so good. At least, they look good to me.
90's Gamera Films are the perfect blend of human story and monster mayhem! Mostly a hard balance to achieve in the Kaiju Genre
Thank you SO much for doing this one. The Heisei Gamera trilogy is without a doubt, at the top of the kaiju films.
For a while is wanted to expand my Kaiju pallet and try out other monster movies besides Godzilla. I finally took the plunge last year and tried out the Gamera movies, specifically the Heisei trilogy.
And I’m so glad I did. All 3 are fantastic movies, all 3 an absolute masterclass in that classic man-in-a-suit monster movie filmmaking. All 3 are standouts in the genre.
If anyone is on the fence, I saw you should absolutely go for these 3. You won’t regret it.
Fantastic video ✨
Gotta return to this video to say that, in my opinion, GAMERA REBIRTH was a totally successful revival of the character. If Gamera The Brave was "E.T., but with Gamera", then Rebirth was "Stranger Things, but with Gamera". A fantastic blend of the Showa monster cast, the horror and mythological elements of the Kaneko trilogy, and the focus on a compelling core cast of child characters from The Brave. Only issue with it is the one thing that's always plagued Gamera, a low budget. Monster fights look great but the human scenes look pretty wonky. Hopefully that can be fixed in future seasons!
Gamera from Heisei era my favorite trilogy. 🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢
I’m a simple man. I see a Matt Draper video, I drop everything I am doing and watch.
I always joked to my friend about how much Legendary ribbed on their interpretation of Godzilla by hawking this trilogy. The themes are mostly there save for the third (well technically). Just that these films did everything better.
I enjoy the second i.e. Legion the most. There's just so much I enjoy about it. It's just G3 is like a fine wine. At first, I didn't like it (I kind of wanted more Gyaos stuff and the tonal whiplash of seeing it after Legion), but each time since on repeat watching it. I grow a fonder appreciation and love for it. It's just I enjoy the first more just in the way it introduces all the main players. The foundation it lays forth for in the first film. That's only why I put it slightly more than G3 still (but man every time I rewatch it G3 makes me rethink that assessment).
It was mostly coincidence the MV does alot of what the heisei gamera trilogy does, but for the most part kaneko doesn't seem bothered by the similarities.
But the entire trilogy still rocks, g3 is probably my favorite but the ending fight for g2 is definitely the best in the trilogy
Great video, one of the very best reinventions of a franchise ever not only this trilogy brought Gamera back far more awsome and taken more seriously but also managed to take the franchise out Godzilla's shadow and in a lot of ways able to surpass it(Saying this as an absolute Godzilla fan). Gamera the brave is a really underated film its not perfect but absolutely enjoyable. The trilogy films are masterclasses in the kaiju genre and the brave is an overlooked film that I highly recommend.
Matt once again going all Kaiju on us
This was such a good retrospective.
Yeah everyone loves the kaneko trilogy, but Gamera The brave is a great and very underrated kaiju movie, it has a lot of heart, and i still feel like a kid watching it
gamera the brave gets a lot of hate for no reason
Fantastic series reflection, Matt!
Excellent job. Gamera is the best 👌 ❤️ 💓 💕 💖 💗
Love hearing Kenny Omega's theme as a background to a Kaiju video. Magnificent touch!
And his devils sky theme too?!?!? ❤❤❤❤❤
And Shinsuke Nakamura
Thanks, recommendations, this video rocked.
Excellent analysis, quality explanation and (selfishly) super relatable opinions lol. Top marks
These three movies are better than almost any Goji movie. Revenge of Iris in particular is peak kaiju cinema.
Second wave of giant turtle
Second wave of giant turtle
Second wave of giant turtle
Come on and fight Godzilla.
Turtle power.
Just finished watching this trilogy and the practical effects are what put it over the top for me. They’re so well done, I do think Iris and Legion were over designed but still a fantastic trilogy
Thanks Matt!
Gamera is my bros favorite Kaiju monster. These films are straight classics. Good memories watching these gems
Netflix's anime Gamera Rebirth is out and it does Gamera proud. Godzilla continues to almost monopolize the international public's attention and interest (and will likely stay that way for a long time),, but there is plenty of room for other Kaiju whether legacy monsters like Gamera or the newer giant mecha/kaiju fusion or who knows what else. Kaiju is going to be around for a long long time.
God, this is what I've been waiting for!!
Would love to see a reboot, of Gamera, in a legendary, Monsterverse film. With the big G
Idk if its just me but i feel like in Gamera Revenge of iris the reason Gamera was more scary is cause after the fight with Legion he became more and more desperate to stop the Gyaos to the point that he didn't care that humans we're harmed in the process and at the end after saving her he realized that his actions have consequences and that in his desperation to kill the Gyaos he lost something important, his kindness
I do hope we eventually get videos on S.P. and Rebirth, but I understand that may be a long wait.
Gamera: The Brave is one of the greatest Kaiju films ever made and is only overlooked because it was made for kids. The Brave still outclasses most Godzilla movies and definitely all but two of the Millennium era movies.
Oohh... bold statements. I find Millenium era Godzilla to be interesting since It's got more emotion in suit acting than some movies have with actual Humans.
I watched Guardian of the Universe today with my 4 year old daughter, which is crazy to me because I just realized I also watched that movie for the first time with MY dad when I was a little kid. Seeing it again made me appreciate it a lot more. I remember watching the third one all the time when I was a kid just for the Shibuya scene lol. I want to watch Legion & Iris with her but i'm worried they may be a bit too scary for her.
That opening music sounds like it make a rad battle cry
I'd love to see you do a video on the rebirth of mothra series keep up the great work like always
Ok, so Daiei looked at the guy who worked on a HORROR anthology and wanted him to make a KIDS film.
That's like asking the guys who made Deception of a Generation to make the 2018 She-Ra.
And that 2018 She-ra become the best interpretation of the story
The 2018 version we got or the hypothetical one made by pearl-clutching christians? that response was kinda vague
@@matthewmccoyd2578 the hypothetical one
I still wish that G4 was released, I find the pitched ideas and basic outline of the story to be very interesting.
Man, I would have loved a Heisei Damajin film! I'm glad we got the Gamera trilogy though
Gamera versus Godzilla...the classic premise has been laid out - Good versus Evil...Give the people what they want! Clash of the Kaiju Titans 👍🏻💥👍🏻💥😃
Awesome video man! Gotta say Reiwa and Heisei are tied as Return Of and Shin Godzilla are my favorite Kailua movies of all time. Reiwa only out ranks because Shin Godzilla is point blank my favorite movie.
Love the gunship music in the background bro
Get hyped y'all, Drapers got another Kaiju retrospective
Update (9 months later): Gamera Rebirth was freaking fantastic, perfectly doing Gamera justice after a long 17 year wait.
I understand that this will probably never happen but I’ve got to ask: Does anyone else wanna see Matt cover Ultraman at all?
Oh wait, we're including Gamera the Brave in the Heisei series? I always thought that was the only Millennium Gamera film.
"Millennium" is only a term for godzilla's 3rd era. 1 movie can't be a whole era.
Kadokawa sees gamera the brave as part of the heisei era of gamera despite it's not connected to the heisei trilogy. This is evident by the 2009/10 and 2016 blu ray/4k heisei gamera sets released by kadokawa that has both the trilogy and the brave simultaneously.
Keep in mind too, showa, heisei and reiwa are all Japanese terms relating to the Japanese emperors. The emperor of the showa period died in 1989, thus the heisei political era of Japan began despite the heisei universe of godzilla already began in 1984. The heisei political era of Japan didn't end til 2019 thus that's where the reiwa era came in despite fans personally seeing shin gojira as the starting point for said era in this franchise.
But in terms of franchises, gamera only has 3 eras, showa, heisei, reiwa.
I know this is kind of off topic, but I can’t not notice the choice to use at least two Kenny Omega entrance themes as background music in this video. Not only because of how random it is, but because of how well they work.
I especially had to double take when I recognized Devil’s Sky. Battle Cry was right away, but hearing DS start up once it got to Gamera 3 was somehow even more unexpected.
Heisei is definitely the best era for Kaiju films. Godzilla and Gamera had their best films during the heisei era.
Heisei Gamera really reminds me of monsterverse Godzilla in that he seems to keep earth in balance
I got to check out this heishi era of gamera who would have thought a turtle would be the king of kaijus for a time
I love how you used Shinsuke Nakamura’s them song at 19:50 😂
Do you have any plans Matt to cover any more Kaiju content in the future, like any of the non-Godzilla Toho movies like Rodan, War of the Gargantuas, etc? I really hope you do!
There will be lots more to come!
@@MattDraper Music to my ears good sir! (Or, I guess it would be eyes in this case, lol)
@@MattDraper Oh yeah, thought of a thing..... Gamera 3 is definitely a better love story than Twilight. :D
a fellow kenny omega fan i respect it
Ah the Gamera series again. Honestly, he might be my all-time favorite Kaiju simply because he's been rather consistently portrayed as a character, with Godzilla being only slightly less so. What is that song playing around the 20:00 song? I know it, but I can't place it.
15:53 I think Iris was more or less a blank slate.
An Atlantean failsafe that could have assisted Gamera by splitting the workload through rivalry if he was raised by a kind and pure soul, or a demon of destruction bent on ending Gamera, as we saw when he was raised by a soul who was weighed down by the lose of everything she loved.
It would've been great if Gamera the Brave had a sequel where it's revealed that Toto wasn't fully grown and we get a more evolved, intimidating version of Toto.
Awesome movie
Great video!
Camera Advent Of Legion is by far the best of the three....
I would really want to see how Hollywood would do their version with gamera
Next is Time for Another Tokusatsu Video, Shin Ultraman!
If you were to place these Gamera films in the Godzilla ranking, where would they be?
For me, i think near the top. The only Godzilla movies that top these in my humble opinion are the original 54 film and Shin Godzilla
General audiences: Godzilla: Minus One was the first modern kaiju film that made me like the human characters.
Me: Have you even seen Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris?
This is not a knock against Godzilla: Minus One; I love it to death.
So what is the next Kaiju franchise that you are going to start next or are you going to do the anime or animated series of Godzilla and gamera and maybe the Godzilla minus one
Gamera vs.Iris (Gamera 3) is a true winner. As was Gamera the Brave!
ahhhh I hear that Kenny Omega Theme Battle Cry at the star of the video, and Shinsuke Nakamura's around the 20 min mark
Watching first 2 in a row then watching 3 is like whiplash
i love gamera trilogy so much it's the best kaiju movies in the 90s and probably one of the best kaiju movies ever made, i love Godzilla but man gamera is the king of the monster of heisei era
We can agree millennium era gamers movie is cannon to heisei it makes sense and I wish they continue that series but thankfully we got more gamera from rebirth which had awesome designs also we can agree gamera is either a robot or a cyborg or a biological weapon not just because he was made by Atlantis but also because he has green (possibly oil) blood also him hating carrots and likes oil and fire it's obvious he is not an animal
It's not a millennium movie, it's a heisei gamera film that's not connected to the trilogy. The term millennium era only applies to godzilla's franchise. Not other tokusatsu IPs. Kadokawa sees gamera the brave as part of the heisei gamera era (both from a political standpoint and franchise standpoint). The heisei political era of Japan didn't end til 2019. Gamera is a bioengineered kaiju, he's not a robot or a cyborg as he bleeds and has bones like any natural creature would.
Any video soon on the gamera rebirth?
I want a gamera movie where he straight up becomes the villain. Pollution, overpopulation, harming the earth and all that leads to gamera deciding to just hunt down humans like gyaos and wipe out humans in countries that are too polluted and overpopulated. Leading to other countries that aren’t on his bad side yet refusing to change and choosing to kill gamera cuz it’s easier to kill instead of ridding bad habits while the citizens panic and fight over if gamera needs to die. Governors constantly at each others throats and making choices out of fear. If they kill gamera the gyaos get to do whatever they want and gamera isn’t going down easy
Actually this would make a cool mothra movie too but without the threat of the gyaos being unstoppable
The original gamera from 1965 is the closest to a villain he's become, other than that, gamera is either a full blown hero or an anti hero like he was in the heisei era
@@Kaiju-bm4ts in ROI it would just take a few more decades of bs to get him to kill us. I’d say that’s when he leaned towards an anti hero, just stopped caring if people got hurt. Now I think of it even if he killed humans to save the earth idk if that’s that villainous. I guess antagonist since he’s still doing something heroic but we’re the ones committing villainous acts. Eh he’s still classified as a villain in public opinion anyways. And if they’re willing to have so much messed up stuff in the heisei era where he was at his peak, they’ll make changes with even more moral dilemmas
@@Dookieman1975 dude he was sort of already an anti hero in the trilogy already, g3 just captured that anti heroic side much better. He was never truly on humanity's side from the start. Maybe in g1 he was fighting for humanity and earth since he had a connection to asagi and she can confirm his thoughts to be legitimate and is still certain as the trilogy goes on but humanity is only part of the earth, gamera cares about both but not equally.
Also battra cared for the planet but wanted humans gone and same with godzilla earth, it's somewhat villainous if a character is wiping out both innocent and bad lives to save the planet. That's called being anti villainous, doing something that can be seen as villainous by action but still understandable by goal. Polar opposite to how anti heroes still morally good things but for their own selfish reasons. Neither anti villains or anti heroes care what the public thinks of them anyway which makes them morally gray characters.
If anything, heisei gamera is closer to being anti heroic than anything else,
The 2nd trailer has me very hopeful for the Netflix series
I love these movies.
I think the Heisei Gamera Trilogy is better than the Heisei Godzilla movies and all Kaiju fans want to see the Guardian Of The Universe face The King Of The Monsters
This trilogy was the best of all kaiju movies.
The Netflix Godzilla trilogy is a great story about mankind trying to and failing to overcome nature and mortality.
Aaaand now I hear Devil's Sky!!!!!!!!
28:52 what is the song that plays here I need it on my Spotify?! 🎶
*nods aggressively*
I noticed that Batman Begins and Gamera Guardian of the Universe have a few things in common with each other.
They are both reboots with a darker tone than the original series, they were both made after their film series went on hiatus following the failure of the previous installments Gamera Super Monster and Batman and Robin and fans and critics agree that there are much better than the previous installments and they were much more successful critically.
Or Rise of the Planet of the apes and its sequels. Esp after 2001 Tim Burton movie.
As much as I love Godzilla, it's definitely passed time for Gamers to have his time in the spotlight!! Long overdue!!
It’s my Headcanon that Iris is a mutation of Gamera instead of Gyaos
