I look at Engwe's 250w Engine X e-bike, a fantastic foldable e-bike, and road-legal in the UK and EU due to its 250w motor.
You can "de-restrict" this e-bike, enable the throttle, and remove the 15.5mph limit on assistance/throttle. Please only do this "off-road" or on private land.
Check out my Engwe Engine X 250w link and see the current price and specifications:

You're an idiot. First of all refuse to review a bike because it's illegal, 90% of people ride them regardless.
Second, you compare riding an ebike that doesn't harm anyone but it's just a stupid law, compare that to murdering people.

Thanks for watching. I have to agree, I am an idiot, congratulations on your powers of observation.

This is exactly that reason why you can't review and advice a non legal bike! Actually I do love this road legal version because yeah based on registered specs this bike can go on the road legally..which is a huge deal! But when unlocking it it can do more at own risk! Which to me is awesome as I don't need to buy additional stuff, whatsoever and it can be both to whatever I need it to be. I think engwe did a decent decision making here. Its looking really practical and beefy and that suspension you also do not see that often in this price range. Sturdy fatbike that goes without a worry and goes quicker when no one is around 😂

Seen plenty of idiots on road with there hoodies on weaving between the traffic on unrestricted bikes. One fall and these stupid children are dead. Wear a helmet and the police will knock you off, take the bike and set you up with 3 points on your licence. You hit a car or a person and you aren't insured you paying for the rest of your life. Who's the idiot now?

Looks great fun Graham, if I ever become a Grown Up Vlogger 😂😂 I may get to try one. I don’t know much about e bike legalities, I’m leaning all the time. 👍

Thanks for watching. Yes its a bit of a beast, if it was lighter it would be perfect instead of very good…

Great vid. Currently trying to decide over this Engine X and PVY Z20 plus, Not sure if this is comparable to the Z20 500 or 1000 version. Engwe seem to have less people reporting there are faults with them from what I have watched so far.

Hello Graham both of us had folding bikes same fold down handle bars same frame folding point no electric motors though, we found them awkward we strapped the front wheel when folded to the rear wheel with nylon webbing straps, but yes very nice bike you have there, could be a potential purchase in the coming months, it is the weight that is the draw back , Clive

    • @CaravanVlogger
      @CaravanVlogger  6 месяцев назад

Thanks for watching Clive. It's a fun bike, I think some other bikes are lighter, but you need to be a bit careful with the weight some manufacturers claim their bikes are…

Some really interesting points there Graham which probably highlights to need for people to try before you buy or at least have a return if unsuitable.
Weight has to be the big factor but the ride and handling especially for inexperienced riders is the most important. The bottom bracket drive either via chain or belt is certainly the smoothest and most bike friendly handling but that's not just the motor. The bigger wheels and the drive via the normal drivetrain make a massive difference. With both rear wheel and front wheel motors, the bigger the wheel the better but that snatch of acceleration to start definitely has improved over the years with better quality wheel motors.
There is also a real difference depending on which wheel drives. Some might prefer that more stable front wheel pull rather than rear wheel push but the downside to front is the heavier steering.
Looks a nice bike Graham and one for the on the Consider list .
    Nice review 👌

The engine x is not really a 250watt ebike though is it. 48v x 18amp Controller is about 864watts of peak power. I think engwe are being investigated by the a.s.a and maybe some legal action is in the pipeline.

@CaravanVlogger I'm not complaining though, I've unlocked everything on mine and have a second battery connected too giving 23ah in total. I love the torque! done about 112 miles on it so far and all seems good.
