It's good to see you back with back packs. You do a great job on the bags. You have been great help . Keep up the good work. Keep the bags coming for 2022. 👍👍👍👍
As a fellow Backpack enthusiast and someone who reviews packs on my channel, I felt like this was a great review. Thorough, pacing was great, well done. New Sub!
Hey George. Bought the new Recon. Love it It’s feels lighter with the new materials. But I like that. I have to say I think it’s one of the best looking bags out there. It just looks clean. George once again great reviews as always. Your the best
This is awesome. Bottom compression straps, side water bottle pockets and a separate bladder pocket! Thanks George. You did it again. Super awesome review, sick intro, please keep them coming.
George always love your reviews. I bought this recon and love it. The new materials make it a lighter bag which I love. Your reviews of the TNF bags always get me to buy one. My wife said no more bags but I just blame you. Keep up the great reviews my friend.
Love the review. I’ve had my recon since 2008/2009 and it’s still kicking. It was used originally as my daddy diaper bag, travel pack, work pack, and finally a hiking pack. Looking to upgrade finally so the review really helped, thanks.
George! This is why I am subscribed to you. I too, LOVE the recon!! I have mixed feelings about their new aesthetic, but I love the huge water bottle pockets and the bottom compression straps on the new one. I kinda miss the older Recon where you could tuck your hip straps behind the back panel, but I know like 90% of the people who use this pack aren't probably wanting them anyway. I've been using an Osprey Tempest 20 for my EDC lately, but if I was forced to pick just one backpack to do it all it's the Recon for sure!! That kangaroo pocket is essential. Especially since women's clothing hardly have pockets, I use the kangaroo pocket for all sorts of stuff.
I had this bag for a couple weeks. I mostly liked it. My main beef was that the admin panel is not very good. It's very floppy inside. I'm a big fan of exterior organization and this bag really doesn't have any. I'm in and out of exterior pockets constantly all day long, and I need that to be part of my bag. The bag was really comfortable though, looks dope in black, has a killer laptop sleeve, and excellent water bottle pockets. This bag will be great for most people, unless you're a baghead like some of us and overthink everything. lol The big zippers on main pouch and laptop pouch are excellent, and the pulls are great, too. But the admin panel uses small zippers and it's not easy to get into quickly. I've had two older generations of the Recon, and the Surge. I also have a 5.11 Rush 12 v2. I'd choose the 5.11 Rush over any of these bags. But they're all really good bags you can't go wrong with.
I bought a Recon 2 weeks ago and opted for the older version. I prefer how they did the front pocket (that you used for gloves) in the older verion. That gets used for my headphones and it can be cinched down. The older one also feels more robust.
I bought one and I’m trying to decide if I should give it a second chance. I returned it immediately because the stitching was coming undone where the bottle pocket meets the bag. I might go buy another one but I’m a bit skeptical of the quality control now.
I bought a navy one. I didn't find better for me: not too big, relatively many compartments, waist and chest belt, Ykk zips. I hope it'll be durable in the long run because my former backpack, an Vaude Bike Alpin 25+5 is 9 years old.
Hi George, I have the Nebula 34 2019/2020 version. I find it really hard to find any EDC to beat that bag. How would you compare this to the Nebula 34, can you do a comparison of North Face Recon with the Nebula 34. Also I really want to know is there EDC out there can can beat the Osprey Tropos 32, as i see Tropos the ultimate EDC. I only wish the Tropos had luggage pass thought. Are there any 30 to 34 L EDC's with luggage pass thought out there you could recommend. I am based in the uk to let you know.
@@redcoatphilip I’ve been using a north face borealis but I got my recycled firefighter 24 hr bag today. He had a Black Friday sale and had them at 30% off. It’s the perfect size.
@@hectorgomez7632 I am in the uk, the import fees on that bag us to much to import to the uk. I cant let go of my Nebula 34 and want to get the Tropos when I see it on offer.
You watch a couple of George’s reviews on TNF backpacks lately and u can notice straight away the guy’s been let down by the quality there. I’m the same. I don’t think these backpacks can match the build quality of my 2015 borealis.
have the recon 2015, I daily carry it from then onwards, from school to travel to work, tho I find it a bit bigger then I like today's, I am currently searching for a smaller bag even sling. but almost no good sling fit my tab s7+ :(
How is the Recon's durability? Are the articulated shoulder straps durable? Will these new articulated straps detach from the backpack or the shoulder straps? I am looking for a backpack that will last for some years and the Recon's construction looks attractive to me. The only concern is its durability and load resistance. Any feedback will be very welcome, thanks in advance.
It looks good. My only concern is that I've owned another pack made out of recycled materials that delaminated pretty quickly. I think it was a Mountainsmith but I'm not sure. The older TNF packs were solid.
That’s the same concern I have. Honestly I would rather they use a good, potentially non recyclable material that will last longer compared to some “recyclable” material. The recyclable one will still use resources to process and the one that will last longer will, last longer before it needs to be processed again when it eventually breaks. Not sure if I explained it well lol.
I have the all black version and it's one of the best looking backpacks around, on top of the excellent size and features. I wish TNF would address the clear minor downsides, I'd gladly pay 50% more for that as long as it also stands the test of time
Wtf is wrong with this dude that he would think his little ding sound when info comes out in the bottom left corner...I kept thinking my speakers were breaking. Change that awful fcking sound
the buzzy distorted audio cuts made this unwatchable. really unfortunate; couldnt get through a minute of it. terrible unnecessary editing choice that you probably think is cool. it's so annoying to the ears; no one wants distortion.
Great stuff man, keep up the good work ✌️

George Happy New Year my friend, I lost count on recons over the years! I just purchase 2022- 2021 TNF Recon! Happy!
Thank you for this video. I have been looking for a good backpack to store all my guide dog accessories. I think this one is gonna be the one I get.

Wow. Great timing. I’ve been considering getting this bag and was literally looking around for videos on it last night! Thanks George. Really helpful.
Love the vids George! May I suggest turning down the text sound effects a tad. Sounds like I blew my iPad speakers😂

I bought the Rush 72. Last year. But I'm definitely going to get this one also
That into is amazing 😂
Great video might get it for school
Older version of the recon is way better in design and material. As always, thanks for the review.
Hello George. Another great video. Have you done a comparison with this pack and the Surge? If so what are your thoughts.
I wish there was a version of this without the laptop section. I don’t use a laptop anymore. I carry a iPad Pro now.
Great review. Real shame only seems to be available in black in the UK
love the intro! :D
Can you please review the new redesign The North Face Borealis 2021 model plz :).
Looks nicer than the surge, she they didn't add 2 or 3 laptop sections ...
I edc and travel with mine. Great pack

Can you do a review on a backpack that can carry 2 set a shoes? And all your school stuff
How do you clip a jacket?
Nice review! So this orthe Surge, what is your opinion?
Please review the new North Face Surge, I would like your opinion on this bag, not many reviews out there for this bag.

what brand that camo cap you wearing? I like it has a camo print under the brim.

Do a review on the “High speed daddy” and the “built for athletes”
Can someone confirm if it can fit a 17” laptop?
😂 had to sit through a commercial for a backpack before you started
do you think you can review the nomadic research urban raid backpack. there are zero reviews out for it

Stop using that distorted sound when you pull up the specs please....kinda annoying. IMHO. Thanks George!
Too much distortion for my cheap-o speakers.
The noise that goes with you graphic is a bit too loud. I like it. Next time just a bit lower volume on that sound. Nice episode.
