- Huge thanks to Pixio for sending this monitor over for review. At $169, this might just be the best value monitor you can add to your gaming PC. 1920x1080, 144Hz, IPS Panel 2/ Freesync Premium! Go check one out for yourself now: amzn.to/35IOeBZ
And now... What am I drinking???
Ft. George (Astoria, OR) Cavatica Stout @8.8%. An Oregon staple, and fantastic example of what a non-Imperial stout should be. Roasted coffee, dark chocolate... bitterness and sweetness blending perfectly. Highly recommended.

loving how at every cut a little bit more of the drink is gone lmaoo
"Nice thick head here, but still not as many bubbles as Jason's Garage floor" - Wow, that's a low blow. You could aim a little higher. Like the switches and wire mess in the front of his rack - Switches go in back!
Fun fact, this monitor is guaranteed to get an overclock of 165hz, as that is its freesync range, despite being the more budget version of the 165hz option, all they really did is downclocked it, and kept the same freesync settings of 48-165hz.
U the GOAT 🔥🔥🔥
I don't drink anymore--I had a good run--but I appreciate your beer commentary as well as your computer insights.
i have the older 247. I was super mad when they released this one 2 weeks after i got it for the same price, but the 247 is still amazing.
That always happen to me i when buy something it's gets cheaper in price next day
a few questions:
1. does he always make this face its rather odd
2. does the monitor have a lot of ghosting? its prevalent in monitors like these
He appears to have a chronic case of youtuber face
@@WhenDoesTheVideoActuallyStart ah that'll do it
Got this right when it came out and it's a great monitor with a lot of little features I've only seen in premium models like the joystick and detailed menu, metal stand, and a more sturdy backside where some of these monitors like to be paper thin. Thanks for the 90 contrast suggestion. It looks better immediately.
the joystick is not so "premium" low cost lg monitor have it since forever
how do you change the monitor settings
An excellent review! You've done an amazing job with this one and now I'm sold on this monitor. Huge thanks.
When I access my menu it says 60Hz, why? How do I change that? (Also I am on Xbox series X and also PC)
What are the best colour settings and have you made an icc profile for this monitor if you have can u send it to me
For some reason my fps counter is always stuck on 144!!
dude no need to be so hurtful, 2 seconds in and I'm already hurt, my monitor is 75hz not 60:(

£160 on amazon
nice to see more 144hz panels get cheaper now we need 1440p 144 to drop more
There's about half a dozen that are the same panel, same bezel, with some minor differences in binning and button placement, and obviously different branding.

@@MajorOutage Hell yeah man, thanks so much. Can't get a new graphics card without a monitor that takes advantage of all its POWAHHH!!!!!
Hello, im looking at this monitor or the 24g2. It seems like they are very similar with a slightly lower color gamut, basically identical response time. The pixio has the edge on price by about $10. The reason im looking between the 2 is the aoc would take about a month and a half to get here while the pixio will take about 8 days ish. Which monitor would be the best choice? Im leaning towards the pixio but iv already had to return a monitor within the past week and id like to avoid doing it again.
Always love the content man, glad you got to do this full time.
Thanks so much. I just bought this monitor used, looks new still, for $50. I really like it. Ive never had a monitor over 60hz.... gaming at the actual frame rate my gpu wants to run at is awesome.
I really enjoy the quality vs cost aspect of this review. Excellent. Thank you. Peace and long life.
$170 for 144hz 😂😂 I paid $125 for my 180hz it’s coming tomorrow
Genuinely a good guy making good content happen! Keep it up man
I have one question, does this monitor come with HDMI cable or do I have to buy one?
You gotta buy 1

Will it work for the ps5

This is going with my Xbox Series X
I was in the market earlier this year. I had been using a 24" dell ultra sharp (IPS) I got for $500 10 yr ago. With work from home I started using a 27" IPS dell but 4k. I could not go back. Went with a $500 LG and it's amazing. My wife criticized my need for a monitor but shortly after my old monitor became a space heater and died. I guess it didn't appreciate being replaced.
I am a hobby photographer so I appreciate accurate colors.
My goal is to get another 10 years out of my new rig. 😁
Ps. If I was building my kid a gaming rig I would jump on this monitor.
are va panels or ips panels better for gaming? ive seen another pixio monitor that is 165hz equiped with a va
Any equivalent to this monitor around the same price, could be higher if necessary, with g-sync compatible minimum, 144hz, 1080p and preferably flat screen, not curved, that has better text sharpness for everyday use and reading text as well as gaming visuals, because I would be using my monitor for school and gaming...
and though I will probably upgrade to 2 monitors soon after I build my pc soon, I will still want to have a good experience of reading text and what now on both.
Thanks in advance anyone who replies
I know I'm really late but, could you kindly tell me what monitor did you get?
I got the AOC 24g2u. Very happy with my purchase and I found them at a similar price
*Frame counter assuming Freesync is on and working. Otherwise those on-screen FPS are just the static refresh rate.
You'll probably notice that - thanks to the counter!
wow 6'5"?? must....not....sa-HOWS THE WEATHER UP THERE? (damnit)
😑
I bought this monitor when u posted this is there a way to turn off power saving?
Thanks man, can't wait till it gets here next week
Do tou th8nk dead pixels would be a problem
I have the Sceptre 27" model that I got last year on sale for about $160 and it's been a good monitor. I prefer VA over TN any day. You can get it decently color accurate as well, although I can't completely verify as I don't have any tools.
Wow. Just bought this monitor and it arrived the day your review went up. Funny that
Do you like it and is it good
How you been doing with the monitor? would you recommend it to me to play fornite?
What is the keyboard/mouse your using? It looks really cool
Thank you for this video.
imo the AOC24g2 is far... FAR **FAR** better than this but its often out of stock or overpriced on amazon. msrp: $200, comes with a better stand, better response times, lower power consumption, just all round much better.
beer + PIZZA! uuuuuaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
That was a very stout review. Both the beer and the monitor seem well priced for what you get. Freesync is a plus also the labeling of the ports is on point.
The chalice was a nice touch as well for showing off fullness and colour. Great video as always.
As always I show up for the tech but stay for the beer.
Do you have to change the monitor settings to 144hz?
I want my laptop to support gsync through thunderbolt or hdmi 2.0 . My viotek 1440p display 75hz . Screen tearing Yuck 🤮. And white glowing spots in dark kills the movie watching experience . Also dang isn't titled funny how on camera people seem either short and short people seem tall. 6.5 foot dang tall bro I'm 5.7 :(
hello please help my button to control everything on the back of this is broken therefore i can’t even switch between hdmis is there any way i can fix it or get a pixie monitor remote to change hdmis and things like that.
Buen video campeón
* sigh * Still looking for that budget 144hz monitor that's got color accuracy too.
The AOC 24G2, which uses the same panel, has an Adobe rating of over 100%. I'm not sure how.
@@MajorOutage wait what I need it

Very interesting, but useless impossible to understand speaking to you too quickly.
Guys I need help I moved something on my pixio monitor and now it doesn’t turn back on with out saying power saving first
What setting should I set it to
Yo yo yo 🙌🙌
Umm.. Hold on. Sharpness is defined by the monitor? I want the monitor to do what the PC says pixel by pixel. Otherwise I have no advantage over the good old yellow coaxial VGA cable!
Would you recommend the pixio px248 for the ps5 ? Because I need a monitor for the 120hz will this be a good cheap one ?
i have a hdmi2.1 cable if i put that in the 2.0 on this monitor could i run 144hz
Yes, hdmi is backwards compatible.
@@trentm5586 thx
I’m new to this .. isn’t frame rate equivalent to refresh rate in the sense if your game is sending 90 frames per second your monitor will be displaying at 90hz (free sync) .. thus don’t you need a card capable of outputting 144 frames on a game to take advantage of the 144mhz... thus if your card outputs 200 frames on a 144mhz you only ever see the 144 frames max .. as I say I’m new to all this .. sorry if I’m completely wrong .
I just got the new Xbox and all I care about is having the 120fps does like a bunch of the stuff u talk about important to me. I don’t really know a bunch of things about computers.
What I want is a 27" or larger 1440p, 120Hz, curved ultrawide freesync panel. Any recommendations?
Does it matched only with amd?, Bc i want to build a pc, im 14 i need to work first about for 4 months for make the money then i planified to buy a pc, i want i want an intel cpu amd a nvidia gpu, does it 2 will match?
Ghosting???
Does a pixo 247 monitor work for Xbox series s 120 fps
£320 in the UK now they obviously decided greed is better than Value
this costs £170 in the uk which is around $235 i bought it what you think? i looked at others but wasnt sure about its qaulity
would you recommend this over the msi g241?
those are my 2 options right now
I have the older 247 and it's good but I don't like the one bug uniform bezel and the controls, it's the same panel but in an older body, should I upgrade?
Think this would be a decent 2nd monitor to my Sceptre 24" 144hz Curved monitor? Setup is on a Sofa table against a wall, so having a curved monitor on the corner and a flat monitor in the center is kinda a must. Unfortunately, my current setup has a 980TI, so do not get to use the Freesync capabilities, but I was waiting for the RTX3070 or Big Navi equivalents to be launched to fix that.
Has anyone used this with the ps5? I’m thinking of getting this and I want to know if it looks good with the ps5
Looks great
@@kermit1 can you run 120fps with the monitor? i got it and i’m having trouble running it on my ps5
@@i.am.bob.6509 yes it can

Can you run 120 FPS on fortnite?
Shoot a little higher and go for the benq ex2510s. Excellent built in speakers for the price, better contrast and color accuracy, better image clarity due to a less intense matte finish, less latency, better build quality with a better stand, etc. only 60 dollars more expensive where i live, or get one used like new for even cheaper.
The 24.5” ex2510S has the same contrast and slightly lower color range for more money
What I want to see is if its a hdmi cable, say its hdmi 2.1 etc. People would buy a cheaper cable and not get a full resolution like 4K.
Can Fortnite be played on it ??? Pls answer someone!
£320 for that monitor on Amazon here in the UK! :(
wow try aoc 24g2 although that price might be blown up too because it is in the US

if I was to use this monitor on ps5 would it be good I'm not looking for high res just looking for high frame rates
Hdmi 1.4 or 2.0?
both
I'm still glad I got to pick up my MSI Mag24c for just $100 locally, used obviously, but 0 issues or dead pixels
320£. .. not even close to 160 as in your video
How do I change from 60hz to 144hz???
Im considering this as a second monitor above my ultrawide. Is the HDR experience any good with YT or netflix content?
What’s the VESA mm spacing???
Rebuttal in the first 5 seconds, I'm not leaving it behind completely I just want a higher refresh rate monitor for gaming and I can use my old one on the side.
I have the same monitor but mine doesnt look as bright and vibrant as his. Why is that?
This is prob gonna be flamed down, but we REALLY need to get a new moniker for "PC Master Race".
Just call console peasants "console peasant" to achieve said superiority without linking yourself to the master race moniker.
I'm not finding the pixio px248p on either amazon.co.uk or amazon.com. Only the 27 inch variation which is more expensive. I hope this isn't some sort of a bait-and-switch scheme.

Hey Jeff, nice review but I noticed you never mentioned the screen size. Obviously you can find out through the link and you can infer by the name, but as that may be a major selling point for some it could be beneficial to say it at least once next time.
Wal-Mart has the Acer 32" ED320QR 1080p 144Hz HDMI and 165Hz display port VA Panel /Freesync Premium for $155
i think 32 inches might be a little too big for a 1080p panel
This looks like an ash tray to you when you have an utrawide hdr10 144hz monitor
I know you went over some settings for the monitor but does you know the best settings for gaming
the colors look so weird on my display and idk how to fix
So you wouldn’t recommend this monitor if something was trying to use it for coding/ gaming?
Nice content, just subscribed. But how does it compare to the ASUS VP249QGR, Acer Nitro XV240Y and last AOC 24g2. Because they are the current value IPS monitor at 144hz.
The 24G2 is far far better, but it’s nearly impossible to find it at msrp
Really nice monitor for the price. I wonder what the overall input lag is? Have books under my monitors right now.
Does anyone know if this will work with the new ps5? Idk cuz ps5 has HDMI 2.1
It will you just won’t be able to run 4K 120 FPS. Only 1080p 120 FPS. So for competitive gaming it’ll be great
Will this be a good monitor for ps5 or am i better off with a 4k 60hz monitor
Loved the review - but a stout with fish , only one step below red wine and fish.... lol
