I got mine on prime day and don’t have any regrets. The standard colors are quite bad as Linus points out but I was able to use the NVidia control panel’s Digital Vibrance setting to get it into the sort of color range I’d expect.
I got a ViewSonic xg2705 27-inch 144hz today, here in Ireland for £209 reduced from £249. The standard of the build it absolutely amazing, the stand is unmatched in quality and solid steel. And it's tool less, you don't need any tools to put it together. Highly recommended!
9:03 Should have included a warning: *This "adapter" is potentially DEADLY!* The "korean"* Schuko plug has two contact pads on the top and bottom, which are used for ground connection. The included "adapter" only has phase and neutral but no ground. Thus, using this thing you're running a high-powered device without the ground connection that it's protection mechanism *relies on.* Also, devices with a Schuko plug expect 230V/50Hz input and the "adapter" (which isn't much an adapter after all) obviously doesn't have any circuity in it to transform that to the american standard of 120V/60Hz, so if one was to use it with a device that can't handle both, that's asking for trouble! *actually, it's a german design used in many countries of the EU.
Yeah. For the record, most devices made these days have support for 120V-240V at 50-60HZ and will indicate so on their power supply. This means that you can use a standard pin to pin adapter, although if your device has a ground prong, the adapter must have that too. If this monitor doesn't even have that, I would strongly advise against it.
I have the Sceptre and honestly I dont have that big of a contrast issue. Its kinda bad at first, but with some tweaking it does look a lot better. Would reccomend!
For those looking at the sceptre. I can say it is AMAZING it looks good, still works amazing, and ive had NOT A SINGLE TROUBLE! Ive had it for over 6 months now, and i would HIGHLY recommend!
@An Equal I can agree. I literally just got this exact monitor. And its absolutely amazing.. has a odd flicker issue when looking at certain apps. Which is a known issue with it, But is buttery smooth in game. Well worth the trade off. I'm thinking of buying a second one!
I ended up with a Sceptre C27 144hz. It's been a nice piece of kit and a great upgrade from the Dell 2410 I had been using for a main display. Side by side the default color temps are brighter on the sceptre but might be a little washed out. A custom color profile helped a bit and enabling the overdrive helps noticeably. The Dell, being a free pick up from a closing office, has been great up til now, but the high refresh rate and better color on the Sceptre makes it my main monitor for sure. Ditched the stand for a vesa dual monitor stand but will be keeping the included stand just in case. Also the screwdriver has a nice red rubber grip and seems a little bigger than the one Linus had and after assembling the vesa mount with it, I can say it's a nice inclusion. Props to Sceptre, they made a good budget monitor!

Considering all I play is ROBLOX, MW2, and Fortnite, I think I'm pretty well off sticking to my 75hz 3ms monitor. It's lightweight which is good for if I have to adjust it for dusting. The bezels are also really thin which I like because then the border of my screen blends in with the background as I focus on my game play. For anyone wondering, it's the Sceptre F22 and it costs about $88 before tax on Amazon. Pretty good monitor for gaming if you're on a budget if you ask me.

9:03 Should have included a warning: *This "adapter" is potentially DEADLY!*
The "korean"* Schuko plug has two contact pads on the top and bottom, which are used for ground connection. The included "adapter" only has phase and neutral but no ground. Thus, using this thing you're running a high-powered device without the ground connection that it's protection mechanism *relies on.*
Also, devices with a Schuko plug expect 230V/50Hz input and the "adapter" (which isn't much an adapter after all) obviously doesn't have any circuity in it to transform that to the american standard of 120V/60Hz, so if one was to use it with a device that can't handle both, that's asking for trouble!
Also it is used in korea and the cord itself was korean as well
I have the Sceptre and honestly I dont have that big of a contrast issue. Its kinda bad at first, but with some tweaking it does look a lot better. Would reccomend!

If you play fortnite probably worth upgrading
For fps games, the higher refresh rate is definitely helpful. If you haven't experience anything over 120hz, it's definitely worth trying.
