Nothing worse than stolen gear, happy to hear you were helped out by amazing people. Yes the music world is full of amazing people !!!

Glad to see you are in good spirits after your negative experience bro. I flew to Chicago once to do some studio work and after I got out of the car the limo driver just took off with my horn in the trunk. That sinking feeling and panic is indescribable. Once in the studio I called the company and after several hours luckily the driver brought my baby back to me. Horrible feeling. Glad it turned out well for you bro. You now have a great story to tell. Wow... Candy Dulfer.

YES. All of us who have travelled a lot have similar stories. We rented an AirBNB in Seatle, lucking out with a beautiful house in an upscale neigborhood. The first night my wife's powerbook was sitting on the kitchen table, someone came in the back door and grabbed it. We had to replace it for $2,000 of our own money (that one had been from work). Luckily we had a backup. Months later we got a call from a sweet neighbor that the house next door had been raided by the cops (occupied by the late-20s grandson of the owner and 3 friends) who had been nice to us and commiserated....the cops found many stolen bikes and other stuff, but the laptop was long gone.....it does tend to ruin your trip, and break your faith in humanity if you don't watch out!

it s all good Bob, and glad you sorted it out somehow. But just remember that you managed to recover part of your stuff just because you're Bob Reynolds. I doubt all this kindness would have been there for a "nobody" sax player or musician in general. Cheers!

Beautiful story and such a beautiful Homo sapiens adventure coming out of something that could have turned into a nightmare. I enjoyed the non edited update. It gives a more human pace to the story which is nice once in a while on RUclips.

I toured Europe with a band once, and believe it or not we were in Den Hague, and we were told to watch ourselves, as it's the equivalent to the Bronx in NYC, full of thieves. That's so crazy (in a good way) you got all your gear back Bob, with a microphone from Candy Dulfer no less!

Wow, what a amazing story. I’m happy to hear your back in business again. I mean pedal an stuff are kind of replaceable , if you can find the right ones, but stuff on hard drives and computer might be tricky to repalce. Hope the rest of the tour turns out well for you.

I'm very glad you didn't have your passport stolen. THAT is a nightmare you don't want to live. It happened to my sister this year in Portugal. Needless to say her planned trip was completely altered. Guard your passport, of course! Have a great tour!!! Too bad you're not coming to Rome. Maybe next time!!
Wow so sorry man! I know the pain. I had a similar thing happen after recording at the studio. Someone broke into my truck and stole $7000 worth of music gear. Luckily about a month later, after I figured I would never see my stuff again, I was reunited with all my gear thanks to my best friend! I hope you somehow get reunited with your stuff as well. I know everyone will want to help someone as awesome as you!

hey sorry to hear that Bob.. Ive also been ripped off on the road (and I've met MANY travellers who've lost ALL their stuff) SO now, I ALWAYS travel wearing SIX POCKET pants (iphone/passport/wallet/cash/plane tickets etc) ALWAYS touching my leg (you can fall asleep and not worry.. say on a bus or train etc ) a light jacket with an internal pocket that zips is also very good (cant be pick pocketed in a scuffle... or ..sliced from behind like a day pack etc) and DON'T leave gear in cars (unless locked in the boot etc) .. people will break car windows in broad daylight, I hope this text may help younger travellers.. ie.. it only takes ONE to ruin your day etc (thieves are opportunists (5 seconds is enough sometimes) and sometimes its better to check in valuables at the front desk (than to leave stuff in a room) better safe than sorry is a good credo.. ( but yeah.. ALWAYS keep the dough and cards and passports ON your body) again ...6 pockets (cargo pants) are a must (for me anyway).. and a jacket or coat with a "secure" inside pocket (and not to be too pedantic .. but you CERTAINLY dont want to BE carrying large wads of cash !) but thats a tough one.. with international accounts and exchange rates.. but yeah.. maybe travelling Pros.. NEED to have a solution for that ? ..Swiss Accounts ?.. Id certainly be paranoid.. with U$8000 cash on me ( So good luck Bob.. but yeah... maybe get some advice on getting that stuff banked in Europe ? (I wouldn't trust baggage handlers !) I would totally have been at the Drygate tonight as I’ve been waiting years to catch Bob but I have my own gig tonight at the Bungalow in Paisley and can’t make it! Next time Bob, have a great show in Glasgow.
