Hi (again) I am trying to view streaming video from a raspberry pi. When I open my VLC in home assistant and go to manage streams, it asks for input media. Do you know what I can enter here to reach my raspberry pi stream? Thanks
Hi Kiril. Thanks for nice video! Could you be so kind to explain - is it possible to use VLC on Raspberry PI 4 B+ with standard audio output (through mini jack)?
I am having the same issue; however Spotify is available on the list and opens but when attempting to play anything I get "no active playback device found" error. I have a premium Spotify account and used the configiguration.yaml method.
Does anyone know if HA is capable of being a music streaming hub which can stream music to other speakers and make them synced? It gotta be lit if HA can manage it.
@@AmazingOrange87 Nope. I ended up with a whole Yamaha Musicast system. One thing got my attention is something called "Music Assistant". Louis explained a bit in his video -> ruclips.net/video/4DQ9iyV3G20/видео.html He mentioned that the author is trying to fix the sync issue. If it happens, I think we both can find a solution.
Hi, I'm trying to configure a Wifi dongle on my Odroid N2+ running HA OS. Via Supervisor is not recognized. Do you have any experience on that? It is a Mediatek Ralink RT5370N dongle.
Just like Spotify is also this Media assistant not available in the new Home Assistant version. Too bad i can not downgrade. I have just a few days before installed Home Assistant to a NUC as i had to many problems with HA on Synology (i had it 10 years now but only switching lights, no automations and music) But too bad the new version does not accept Media Assistant, and also not Spotify.
About the Spotify integration issue, wonder if you need a paid Spotify account? HA is probably not even getting that far though, I have not figured it out yet either
Had the same situation. Go to Settings > Integrations and add integration, search for VLC. It appears on mine. Now I am stuck at a popup asking me for a password
Sorry this is a very bad addition. I have users in my setup that i want them to access specific devices only. Now they can see my cameras and theres nothing I can do to block them..
Tried this. When I select a speaker in the bottom right of the media player, spotify does not show up in the available sources. I deleted the spotify integration, then reinstalled from configuration.yaml - still no difference. Spotify shows up in the list of the list at the bottom right though.
Do you know how to set the password for Vlc telnet?
I am stuck on password too. Where do i get it from?

I keep seeing this but it seems like there is no easy solution... I've tried many things but all have failed so far.
I have the same problem with Spotify. At the log for Spotify it says: my_ip: type 47 is invalid
I thought I'm alone with this ... 😂
super. keep it going I love how you explain things
Thanks, will do!

#metoo
Great help Thanks
Glad it helped
How do I add the Media "tab" on the sidebar. Mine is not there, even after upgrading.
Hmm, try to add default_config: in your configuration.yaml file and restart your Home Assistant
@@KPeyanski That fixed it.
Thanks

Did you ever found this out as that’s exactly what I’m trying to find out

It will be good if we can search for specific media, artist, playlists, etc from the media folders.
yes, that will be good.

I believe that's the issue. I read the Spotify integration documentation a couple of months ago and that rings a bell.
Well I have a paid one and still don't work

You need to select a speaker and then spotify will be displayed in the main window.
hmm, interesting, but where to select a speaker?
@@KPeyanski I just done this very quick video lol
