Helmuth is legit, there's plenty of bands that follow the dark path too. With these bands there's usually at least one or two members that follow that belief - the other members just plain don't care, they're there to play music haha
It depends what you mean with 'Satanic', many black/blackened death metal use satan as an expression of liberty/rebellion than really worshipping satan as a theological deity. There are bands like Watain who do really worship Satan as a theological being though...
This is really pissing me off!!!! I'm trying at a transcription of the Title track of The Devils! (Context: I know as of the last 2 or 3 records Helmuth has tuned the guitars down to Bb[ Standard Baritone tuning on a 6 String from Low to High - Bb,Eb,Ab,Db,F,Bb] which imo is the infamous Morbid Angel tuning! As well as A Standard on a Six string....Having that said, The new record from Belphegor is no different and in that lower tuning!!problem is on the title track I'm trying a transcription at.... The guitar tuning is really FUCKING with ME!!!!!! Lol I'm using a 7 string but I know that Helmuth is using his Jackson V six string tuned down to Bb for most of these videos. Now.... The title track "The Devils" is fucking with me my mind! I'm 99% sure helmuth is not using a drop A tuning...I think! Lol!! Watching him track the brief riffs looks like he's using a standard A tuning on a six string I.E: A,D,G,C,E,A ????? But also it don't sound correct according to his finger positions! It honestly sounds like Drop A[ A,E,A,D,G,B,E] on my 7 string but A,E,A,D,F#,B on a 6 string!! I'm soooo fucking confused damn it!
