It is so hard to look at and not do something. I recall my girlfriends son in mexico. They have garbage everywhere. People literally will look at us then us throw it on ground in front of you. I never said anything but always picked it up and put in dumpster... then I looked over and her son, about 3 years old, was helping me. Probably biggest complement of my life to see him following suit.
I have a friend who retired from the US Border Patrol and he told me that they took a lot of precautions with the smugglers garbage in order to avoid all of the diseases they bring with them.
We did our best but is certainly a concern. I think when feasible they try to make the people they catch pick it up now. Don't quote me on that but seems like somebody told me that recently.
Border patrol is a joke. They have a million dollar in country check point. If it's too cold too hot raining any weather they feel is adverse they close and go home. I was appalled. The postal service has a moto nothing keeps them from you getting your mail . BP Is designed to protect us and they go home.
They bring diseases with them? What do they carry them in jars or something? They're just people like everyone else. There's no crazy diseases coming in with them. Some people believe anything
When I worked at the "big white cube" on top of Mt. Hopkins in 1981-1982 I often wished I could explore those other roads and peaks I saw from the top or in the Chevy Suburban crew transport on the main road. "Thanks" for the little additional footage and drone coverage.
That is awesome. I met a guy at work. Helped him with some stuff and he helped build some of the facilities up there. That is super cool. I have never been past the gate, but have explored a lot around the mountains below it. I only recently started making these videos glad you enjoy them. I have been exploring off trail since 2015.
I’ve been over our continent and everywhere I go these people leave great amounts of trash on the ground . Even parks in Virginia are trashed . The riversides are trashed .
Thanks for noticing, it's a sad issue. Mexico tends to have a lot of trash like that. It's a bit of a cultural issue. They just don't see it as a concern to throw garbage on ground. The native people, are very friendly that I've met. But both here in States and in Mexico they're not as conscious of dumping garbage. All of the people I've seen cross are more of Native decent. I don't really ever recall seeing a person of European decent crossing. It's just not our culture to dump garbage and look for handouts. It just is what it is but must point out the cultural element as a white male they tear us down no matter what we do. I love everybody but cannot help but notice this.
Thanks! That would sure be neat. I spent lots of time in Sonora. I couldn't help but pickup garbage on the ground there too. It's a bit more common than here. Kind of saddens me when I see it. Our most recent video is in a hidden canyon where there's NO signs so far of anybody. Pickup up the garbage is a bit more of every day life for the ranchers in this area. If anybody they deserve the credit. Border Patrol also has to clean it up when they catch a group. However, they don't have time or resources to pick it up otherwise.
@@exploringgodscountry BTW - I am guessing those were gold mining holes. Does anyone do wet or dry mining in that area? Kind of reminds me of the movie, 'There Will Be Blood'. I have done placer/dredge mining in N. Cal , but dredging is a no-no now. Wondered about Az for a while.
@@Dreamhelmet I really don't know for sure. I don't know much about mining. I believe it's part of this mine though www.mindat.org/loc-34308.html I LOVE the mines though, very interesting. Some of them have portals in solid rock (not placer) and can go into them to look around. I don't know that I've found any below ground Placer Mines yet out here. My friends who prospect, do go into the dry streambeds and sort dirt... I believe they bring their own water or take the dirt home to sift the gold out.
Now that I am retired, if you ever want some extra help on exploring off road areas just let me know when and where to meet up. I am more of an off roader (Jeep LJ) there are so many little side shoots off of the main roads in that area that I would like to explore.
For sure! I have been up a bunch of them. But not explored as much off bull springs road. So much left to explore. I venture over past 8 years I have gone easily 20,000 miles on roads in mountains and have a lot more to explore.
It's hard for me to pass it up without picking it up. If ever there is garbage I cannot get it lingers in my mind. That said, there seems to be an infinite supply of litter bugs!
Amen, there's so few border patrol agents though and such a big border. In all honesty we need to have military on the border as is literally an invasion but first stop welfare to illegals and start prosecuting people who hire them also actually prosecute drug and human traffickers as well, instead of catch and release. After that a lot of this would clean itself up. One issue is knowing which judges to vote for as well. It's really hard to find information on any of them. Then they get bought out and stop prosecuting this trafficking / catch and release.

No worries! I've done the same 😬 We find TONS of interesting rock formations & rockscapes. I'll have to make sure to include more shots of them for you on my subsequent videos! Thanks for commenting ☺
I wish they would secure the border so that we didn’t have to worry about smugglers in the Santa Ritas. I never hike there alone because of the possibility of running into illegal immigrants and I don’t have a gun. It’s not fair that we can’t even explore the Arizona wilderness safely in our own country!
Yes it is very sad. Always best to go with a friend, two is even better. I carry a gun, but honest to God, I don't think I could ever use it. I have a fair amount of professional training as well with them from another life I had many years ago. We have been in some rather peculiar situations where I think it helped just having the other person see it (it's on my belt). Seems to keep people more polite. Such is my theory but if I ever had to use it... gosh I'd probably just run and hope I don't get shot by bad actors. Feel free to drop me a line www.keystoaz.com/askmatthew/ if you need a hiking partner :)
Interestingly I have seen fewer snakes off trail than on trail. Where o see them is in town... That said I hike in early morning. I used to run a lot, but that is when I saw snakes. They like to lay on the warm cement in the evening. However I seldom if ever see them in nature. They are certainly there but I theorize they hear us coming and hike under rocks or in cracks.
Yeah we're kind of screwed here. There's nobody watching the border. CBP has been overrun, and they turned into processing people instead of catching them. The checkpoints are closed and nobody is patrolling mountains or border away from ports. Our international airport in Tucson is literally a human trafficking hub. The federal government is using it to ship them all over the country. They cannot keep up with their shipments so they are pooling in Tucson on the streets... and now in my little town at the shopping center.
@@exploringgodscountry. I live in Green Valley and am out in the Santa Rita’s a lot. It was in a wash very close to Madera Canyon Rd. just past the school a few miles is a power line. Good question, yes they in a sense are trafficking garbage too. The people there were more than likely trafficing hard drugs and criminals that cannot otherwise pass through ports of entry. The families are a diversion tactic. When families cross the media covers it and DHS rightfully so responds to the families first... that doesn't really show everybody what is really going on though. while DHS is occupied the stuff you see on TV the cartel is crossing the really nasty stuff and largely going uncaught.
Interesting you should mention that. They have a similar system. They hire people here to pickup people in desert and transport them. I think a lot of it is through whatsapp and similar apps. Driver gets coords on messaging ap, pickup group in desert, then gets paid when they drop them off.
