- The DeKalb County Board of Education has voted to approve a separation agreement with DeKalb County Schools Superintendent Cheryl Watson-Harris effective immediately
Her firing is what you call somebody has to be blamed, or pass the buck. let’s blame the superintendent, so voters don’t vote out the board who knew about the needed repairs before the lady was hired in 2020.
Right! That kind of damage had been building for decades. The supe does nothing without board approval.
Fire the whole board
There was money for these repairs done. Was she made aware of the condition of what was shown. The principal bears some of the blame to have students in those conditions is horrible on all of their shoulders. Prayers that no child was harm from the conditions. Should've called the health department
So sad!!! The whole board needs to be terminated. On my side of town OUR schools gets no love, These schools should have been fixed with all the money accepted from the federal funding.

Fire the whole entire board. This is disgraceful that they would leave her holding the bag when it was her who requested repairs and they rejected her. I’m ashamed of the county I was raised in.

Why didn’t any of the teachers speak up or the maintenance staff?! Aren’t there inspections done once every year or 2 or 3?!
Retribution is real in education
This is the risk of taking high profile public figure positions. You are absolutely the scapegoat and will be sacrificed.
Dekalb needs to start over. The entire school district is rotten to the core.
Wow! That's bad. I've been in a lot of schools as a sub and I've never seen anything even close to that bad.
I'm sorry but they made the black woman the escape goat on this, NO WAY people CAN NOT notice this.... the PRINCIPAL of THAT school should have been the FIRST ONE FIRED before this woman, & she should have been given proper time to make and ensure that the repairs at the school be done immediately then if she fails fire her... SMH 😡 these people are just trying to take away the kids money that they get for them attending the school and put it into their pockets I BET if they did an audit of the finances someone is embezzling
Looks like a set up
Somebody wanted her gone. Plus she had to be notified of the problems first before you can terminate her. I think she has a wrongful termination suit that she can win.
I was blindsided to. I anticipated that it would have happened during the pandemic. 🤷🏾♀️
Then who will be fired for the low academic learning and grades that's been going on??? If she going, they all need to go cause that is not the only issue with DeKalb Schools! 🙄

City / County commissions should all step down and replaced with someone representive of the Community.
There are supposed to be williams act notices with phone numbers in every classroom to report problems like this. Not having these notifications posted is also a violation if this is a public school.

Somebody has to be the fall guy Dekalb county schools have been like that for decades. But no one wanted to talk about it until things go viral. The power of the internet and for sure there are alot of schools that are in desperate need of repair
There were no reasons to fired so a Wonderful Superintendent. Some of the people of Dekalb school system are so wicked and evil and unhappy. God will take care of them for being so evil towards Superintendent Cheryl Watson.

This has nothing to do with her being black or brown. There are serious health hazards in the building in question and the students health is at risk. Why do we always go to race. Oh yea, it’s an easy way out-I forget. It starts with her and it should continue. Who will be next and when will the students be placed at another location pending immediate repairs?

You had one main job, to at least prove you were concerned about the welfare of the students and failed them, it would have been honorable to have been fired doing a job than to completely act oblivious to what needed to be done at those schools, you didn't have to be notified when you knew you ignored a problem, too late to cry foul.
