    5:24 because of the conservation of momentum. If we take your and chairs' mass and multiply it with the velocity with which you moved back, that would be equal to the mass of wall multiplied by velocity at which the wall moved in opposite direction, but the mass of the wall is too much that the velocity will be there but it will be so less that you won't even see a moment.

    Earth moon explanation could have been better. Moon pulls earth's tides, earths rotation moves tides prograde a bit, these shifted tides pull on the moon (nlm 3) moon gets force in prograde motion, moon gets more angular momentum. If you solve for conservation of momentum in orbiting bodies, higher anhular momentum gives longer orbital radius.

      That's not possible because in our frame of reference, we are moving along with earth, so the velocity in our frame of reference is 0
      But if someone outside of earth, stationary watched us, he'd say we are moving along with earth
      But the helicopter is in the same frame as of earth, it's moving along with earth in the sky, so that won't happen...
      The sitting in a bus analogy is perfect for this, if you're sitting in a moving bus, you're stationary in your frame of reference, but moving for someone standing on road and looking at you

    Well well, centre of mass would shift slightly to the right.. not too much obviously.. but it would shift by some distance.. as the ground is not perfectly smooth.. friction will give some amount of momentum to the cart.. so to conserve the momentum.. the eqn will be: Mcart* V cart + Friction* delta t (Impulse) = M magnet * V magnet.. so the magnet will move towards cart at a faster rate than it would have if the ground was smooth.. and yes the cart will move some distance more than it should have (i.e, more than the amount of distance cart would hzve covered if the ground was smooth)

      When there is no external force applied to a system, the linear momentum is conserved. Linear momentum (L) = r x P (r is radius ; P is momentum); You can re-write it as L = r x mrw (since p = mv; v = rw). Therefore L = mrw^2. For linear momentum to be preserved, if radius goes up, w needs to go down. I apologize if you asked for a visual explanation.

    Its because of conservation of momentum, consider mass of wall as M1 and mass of the human be M2, and V1,V2 be their velocities respectively after the push, and M1 >>>>>>> M2, Therefore using relation M1V1=M2V2, V1= M2.V2/M1, and M2/M1 is nearly infinite, hence value of V1 comes out to be 0, hence the answer.

    In the meme situation, the perpetual motion is impossible because of friction/second law of thermodynamics. If you want this magnet/truck motion to continue, you will have to spend energy in some form - either electrical or fuel.

    • @pranav210591
      @pranav210591 2 года назад

      The motion wouldn't happen even on a frictionless surface, because of internal action/reaction pair. The whole assembly would move (and keep moving on frictionless surface) if an external force were to act.
      Of course, in real situation there would be friction too and then energy conservation laws come in.

      @@govindmohanty6955 no i feel energy conservation is more important here. Momentum is just defined for things having mass. conservation of energy is more universal and applicable to all fields.
      Also, logic is that whenever you have an argument on infinite source of energy(like this magnet example), then you put conservation of energy into picture
      See the reason I would like to give here is that yes it is possible to move a car using a magnet like the diagram, but you need to hold that magnet in the same place forever which will require some energy/work. That energy may be generated from some source idk how mechanical or otherwise.

    • @uncannyroaches5933

    2:31 - Better narration would be to show the force arrows not between the metal & magnet, rather the force arrows equal and opposite on the connecting crane hands. They cancel out and hence not moving. If the magnet is humongously strong, crane joints may bend or the shaft may break but no force is transferred to the wheels. shearing strength of the connecting system keeps the system in equilibrium... Close but a bit inaccurate.. I would explain it this way.. Its actually other way round. The Moon's gravitational force creates tidal bulge on earth.. The ocean's water fluffs up. But since Earth is rotating almost 27 times faster than Moon's orbital period, the bulge is pushed forward by earth constantly.. This creates an extra tug on the moon forward forcing it to deviate from its own orbit and it pushers it a bit higher. Now on a higher orbit it needs to go faster so its total angular momentum increates on the higher orbit. The energy required to compensate for this higher angular momentum is given by the earth by slowing down due to friction from tidal bulge. As a result earth slows down.
    So if you see without a moon earth will not have a tidal bulge and wont be slowing down. So moon itself is the root of all this evil and its slowly moving away :P

    Then how cycle works we sit on it and we only push it by legs there is no external force to push then too it works properly 😅

    • @scienceisdope
      @scienceisdope  2 года назад +2

      There is. It's called friction with ground. You're not pushing the cycle by pedalling, you're pushing the ground backwards. The ground pushes the cycle forward

    Hey brother,
    Friction, an external force, tries to stop the object which is moving in X-axis and eventually becomes successful in doing that..
    Gravitation, an external force, tries to stop the object which is moving in Y-axis and the same thing happens with that..
    But, what external force is stopping the rotation ?
    Is it only the air resistance (drag) or some other force along with drag???

    • @saradabehera1391
      @saradabehera1391 2 года назад

      The particular means of friction is it tries to stop relative motion not motion itself. Like when we roll a ball friction helps to stop the motion of the ball which is moving relatively opposite to it while if we consider example of a car the wheel pushes the ground backwards and because of that the friction from ground pushes the Car forward. If u'll look at a car carefully u will notice that the velocity of the part of wheel which touches the ground while rotating is always opposite to that of motion of the car. And gravity never stops objects it always accelerates them.

    • @saradabehera1391
      @saradabehera1391 2 года назад

      Ig by saying gravity stops motion u mean the motion that's happening opposite to gravity. Well yes in that case gravity stops the motion until and unless the body is moving with the escape velocity. But motion in the direction of gravity is never stopped by gravity.

    • @saradabehera1391
      @saradabehera1391 2 года назад

      And about the rotational forces well in real world while stopping rotation a major part is played by friction itself to slow down a rotating body.

    1."if i had more time, i would have written a shorter letter" ~mark twain

    3. dont be shy of making fun of stupid arguments via skits, youtube rewards boldness not cautiousness
