- Long-time no-see, friends! I have been away taking care of some personal & mental health needs, and I’m going to do my best to post more regularly now that things have calmed down a bit! Thanks for sticking around, y’all! It means the world to me 😊
When things get overwhelming and I feel like I’m being pulled in a thousand different directions, I try to find someplace that re-awakens my curiosity and desire to discover new things. Everything slows down when I’m taking in a new place. The world feels a little quieter. The weight of my stressors evaporates, even for just a little while. Sometimes, I just need a really good weekend to reorient myself.

“One of the things I love most about living nomadically is being able to satisfy my ever-changing desire to be in a new place. Some mornings I wake up and I want to smell the ocean and have the salty air all around me. But by afternoon, I want nothing more than to wade in a mighty river, with thick pines towering over me and keeping watch as I splash around. I love being able to drive my home to wherever my heart is aching to be. To feel so free and limitless, and to not be rooted somewhere that I don’t want to be. When I find myself feeling restless, a new place is all I need to reorient myself. On the days when I am tugging at myself trying to find what makes me feel whole, I know I can drive down the road a bit and always find something worth stopping for.”

I could not agree more with this comment! Milo, you really inspire me. You’re creative and humble, have an awesome dog (I have two dogs and two cats) and you live life on your own terms. You have given me so many ideas on how to live tiny but large. The Pacific Northwest and Oregon coast in particular are so gorgeous.

Being a very sensitive artist comes at a price - you have to carefully manage your inner resources and take a break more often. Nomad life is certainly an advantage there. Just snuggle up in the cozy shell on wheels and retreat to some quiet new place, and let water and wind caress you until you feel peaceful again.
In German we have a nice idiom: "jemandem das Fell glattstreicheln"; literally meaning caress someone's (tousled) fur / hair until it's smooth again. You know when a dog gets wound up, the hairs on its back stand on end. Any loving dog owner will then certainly pet the sweetie until it's fur smoothes down again.
That's what I saw in this video, the three of you, or the two of you and Tellie, you help each other to calm down and enjoy life at a slower pace. Thank you for sharing ... {{{}}}
