Just bought this yesterday! Dang it’s amazing. I am a carpenter and installer , my guys will not be using this particular track saw for at least a month …. Maybe ever😎🇺🇸👀
I had mine for 4 years and i loved the mafell. But now i must say ts 60 and tsv 60 is better 1500 watt and 1700 watt brushless Motor and more festures. I have all 3 of them, but maybe there will be a new mafell with brushless Motor.
Thanks, I appreciate it! I haven't tested the battery version but looking at the mafell website, the motor spins at ~2000rpm less so it might be less powerful. Mechanically they look very similar.
Yes, you can switch to another brand of circular saw blades, but then you will have problems with the depth indicator - Mafell's circular saw blades for the MT 55 are Ø 162 mm, Diablo and CMT's are 165 mm and Festool's are 160 mm. I don't have an MT 55 but a K 55 18M BL.
yes that 2mm difference does mean you have readjust the depth of the saw. But that's better than inprecise cuts with a thinner blade... If only they made the blade a bit stiffer.
Had mine for 5 years. Just replaced it with the festool ts 60. Good saw, scribe function is over rated. Rail connection is good but the rails do not have enough grip so have to clamp every cut.
I wonder why you had trouble with the rail. The one thing I did right away for my rail is I got a cheap and cheerful snowboard bag so that the rail didn’t get dirty, jobsites get messy and I never had grip problems. The clamps on the other hand had been somewhat finicky and I never learned to trust them…
@@spilleradam I have not used ts 60 that much yet but so far I would say yes, dust extraction isn't as good as the mafell that's all I can say about it
I sold my Festool track saws and bought 4 Mafell saws. The reason I sold my HKC is because they said it would cut 2x material. They show it cutting a 2x4, but when I tried to cut 2x10 or 2x12 with a cup or slight warp, it would not cut all the way through. I sold my TS55 because the clown that does Festool Friday is SO ANNOYING…
I gave you a thumbs up to encourage you but you didn't really show anything that makes THIS the best track saw. The title would have been more reflective of the video had it been "Track saw basics" or "An Intro to the Mafell MT 55 CC". Also I can see you are quite young and we must all learn, but starting the track saw deep in the cut should not happen to someone who has any experience. Anyway, keep at it and good luck.
No. Mafell is made in Germany by an over 100yr old company. Mafell sources the cases from Tanos a subsidiary of TTS (Festool's owner holding company). Tanos sells cases as stand alone and to other companies. While the Festool plunging tracksaw was patented first I do not know the history of the patents. The Mafell saw works somewhat differently, perhaps that's how they got around the patent, or Festool patent aged out? Under any circumstances, many regard the Mafell superior in terms of robustness and power. Festool's systems are significantly more comprehensive and integrated, and frankly Mafells marketing is D+ compared to Festool's A game.
You buy a Festool saw if you want to buy accessories and build jigs. You buy the Mafell if you want to get the job done and don't want to buy a bunch of accessories and build a bunch of jigs.
Mafell was founded in 1899 and in Europe they dont even have competition !!! Famous for high quality Power Tools. Mafell you only have to buy it once and the next 2-3 generations in your family are going to be able to use the machine. Mafell is made for professionals by professionals :) To explain it easier for better understanding = Mafell is the RollsRoyce of Power Tools
What's your favourite track saw? Cordless? Corded?
Corded longer run time
Corded, power over portability. btw which blade models did you acquire as replacements?

Mafell is just crazy good. greets from germany !!!
I’m looking at purchasing a new track saw and have been looking at maffel
I was about to buy a festool, but now i think i might buy this one.
I returned two festool as they were so so underpowered and the Mafell cuts all day
I have the mafell, it’s very good.
Awesome review, does the battery option the same as the corded?
Thanks, I appreciate it!

packed to the brim with features, i love.

I adjusted my depth indicator to match the new blade
They make the Bosch saw too I think. Motor is different though.
Could you add link in description to the blades you are using please?
Look for Diablo or Freud 160mm or festool 160mm blade
@@pat_makes_stuff Thank you. I have noticed some Mafell blades have 162 mm not 160.

I have the mafell, would you say the Festool ts 60 is better.

You are clearly quite dim.
@@spilleradam are you happy with the mafell? Trying to pick between this and the festool ts60k
Had 2 in last six months both sent back with same motor issues
Interesting… I wonder if they made a bad batch 🤔
Hmm....one useful thing missed - close to wall cut. That dust extraction outlet kinda gets in the way.
I haven’t had a chance to run into this particular problem…
I've had mine for a few years excellent better than Festool motor is great
It works on Makita rail also
Yes :)
And bosch rails
Why are they not marketing themselves like Festool?
I'm curious of that too... 🤔
Looks like a Metabo TS 18 :)
most of these saws look similar :)
Man. I thought the $99 wen track saw on Amazon was the best. 😂
I guess I overpaid for mine 🤣
@@pat_makes_stuff makita is hard to beat for the value. But your mafell is more powerful

I like the TS more, make crisper cuts.
THIS TRACK SAW HAVE ELECTRONIC KICKBACK?
Yes it does
Festool the best 😁
😁
Yeah you wish
You should not have multiple kickbacks over 2 years. You're doing something wrong
Blasphemy
And why is it a naughty copy of a Festool saw? Even the case is piracy. Is it from China?
