    You can activate apple car play and Android Auto by using the Carlin kit dongle. I got that activated in my C-class W203.

      You got a lose wire somewhere, or a fryed control unit. Disconnect you're computer boards under both seats and see if that helps

    What is the new unit? Also what is the correct optic decoder for a 04 clk500?

    • @HeyboysGarage
      @HeyboysGarage  2 года назад +1

      The correct optic fiber box I needed was the D2d decoder. But they still ended up sending me the correct box. And still didn’t work because I their little is missing the correct wire harness for my car

  • @alecrc

    if you have you aux port in the passenger glove compartment, do you know which of the wires that runs from the aux port is the one that connects into the headunit? pretty sure my aux port wire to the headunit has a short in it somewhere on the line because whenever i go over a big bump, my sound cuts out on the left side. sometimes if i unplug the battery and plug it back in it fixes it, but its hit or miss because sometimes it doesnt fix it. im assuming the aux wire that runs to the headunit needs to be redone, so hopefully you can lmk which of the wires is the one for the aux?

    • @HeyboysGarage
      @HeyboysGarage  6 месяцев назад

      Honestly i'm not sure. I have never used the aux cord on the head unite! I use a bluetooth FM transmitter so much easy than messing with wires if you decide to go that route

    I have a 2004 clk500 and thinking about doing the same thing. I did some research and I believe you ordered the wrong fiber optic decoder. It's suppose to be a d2b decoder for my 04 clk. At 9:30 it looks like the plug didn't click into the decoder and you said it fits perfect. That's why there's no sound.

    • @HeyboysGarage
      @HeyboysGarage  2 года назад +1

      I noticed that’s and told the company about the issue. They realize they sent the wrong decoder and later sent me the correct decoder but I still wasn’t getting sound because they didn’t have the plug in for the amp to enable sound.. I spoke with them about it and they said everything looked correct…

    • @huiwang2001
      @huiwang2001 2 года назад

      @@HeyboysGarage I think the decoder gets the sound from the front speaker wires so I am not sure why there's no sound.

  • @TopiasSalakka

    So, do you need the optical adapter if you have the upgraded Bose sound system?
    Mine has it and i'm not sure, and i don't wanna spend 90€ on something i might not need.
    Mine is a 2002, so same style as yours.

    • @HeyboysGarage

    I just think comand 2.0 dx in clk doesn have fibre optic amp. That fibre optic connector which you put in decoder is going to glovebox to cd changer. CD changer is connected via fibre optic to original radio and thats only fibre optic cable in original config. The gray square connector is original for gps antenna, so on the new radio shouldnt be connected because you have new gps antenna with SMA conector. That long black connector is originally for aux, located in glovebox, so it shouldnt be connected too....so greetings for "professionals" in shop which doesnt study anything about clk with comand navigation radio

    • @TopiasSalakka
      @TopiasSalakka Год назад

      Mine doesn't have the CD changer, i don't need the optic decoder then?

    • @-mizmar
      @-mizmar Год назад

      @@TopiasSalakka Yes you need it, the optics are main source of audio signal. If you have this Command 2.0 head unit you need "D2B" converter and if you have newer one then its "MOST" converter as he has in video. I do have the older version with CD changer, phone in armrest and amplifier in the trunk, its all connected together with fiber optics.

    • @TopiasSalakka

      @@-mizmar I don't have a CD changer or Comand, just the regular head unit with a CD player + Bose.

    • @-mizmar
      @-mizmar Год назад

      @@TopiasSalakka If you dont have Command then probably not. Just take then headunit out and check if there is fiber optics connection. If not then you dont need it.
