Given the material they had, it was the team that made the most of it. I would actually go as far as claiming that as a team, they arguably operated better than in 2021, regardless of the car.

It was so evident this year the type of people that make up the Mercedes team. The entire crew seems so professional and relentless. I got into f1 this year liking leclerc alot and watching max dominate , but Mercedes really outshined everyone with how they operate as a team. I have no choice but to be a fan. Bravo 👏
I'm great that George can learn how to be a great ambassador for the sport and in life in general from this guy, he always knows the right things to say to make people feel positive, always thanks people for their efforts, I mean you miss him when he's not on a podium just because he always thanks the crowd for their support, for turning up, and when we don't have that from him anymore, I'm sure George will carry on this great tradition.
I would still say that Lewis has the better race craft and finese driving, though he really needs a very complementary car to execute it, and W13 probably got it all wrong for Lewis. George is the more adaptable driver obviously, He has a very good racing sense and track/strategic awareness, he got the potential but he still have some room for improvement. What he needs to develop though is a reliable game-changing weapon, something similar to Lewis' "hammertime", an almost inhuman-level peak performance.
Without doubt best pairing this year, they covered each other off so well. When Lewis had a rough race George did well and when George had an off, Lewis excelled. How many times were they 4th&5th or 5th&6th. Their car should not have been as close to Ferrari in the championship but they pulled everything out of it

Next year, can Merc make sure both drivers are sharing the experiments. Also can Merc make sure they revert to their ethos of whichever driver is ahead on track, gets priority. What happened to Lewis in Miami, Zandvoort and Australia, wasn't fair
I don't know why a lot of people misjudge Lewis. He's such a genuine human being, a good sport, and a very chill dude. Also you guys put on a great show this year. George made quite the impact since he joined, and Lewis continued to try his hardest and never gave up. Keep pushing guys, and see you in the next season.
I think a lot of people don't see him as genuine. Including me. However that is no excuse to spread hate. I don't like the guy but I greatly respect and appreciate his performance and results over the year
@@NapsterRulez yeah I don't see any reason as to hate him. Regardless if you are a fan of him or not. But it's good to see someone that admires his performance even though they don't support him.
Frankly, I think alot of the blame for Hamilton hate lies with his fans and I can identify 2 key reasons (personally I don't dislike Hamilton, but I CANNOT STAND the majority of his fans). 1.) They are militant in declaring him the GOAT and anyone who voices any opinion deviating from theirs is immediately labeled a racist with no effort whatsoever on their part to actually listen to people's arguments (no doubt there are bums out there who dislike him for that reason, however they do not represent everyone) 2.) The constant efforts by them to inflate his legacy are exhausting, particularly when they consistently make up obviously BS narratives. Some past and present examples of what I mean... - Waving his stats around in comparison to peers while dismissing the unprecedented amount of great cars he has driven - In Brazil claiming he let Russell win as a nice gesture (anyone with half a brain and no bias can easily see that's nonsense) - Claiming Checo binned it on purpose at Zandvoort to stop Lewis from winning (because clearly Red Bull on cruise control to their 1st constructors championship in 9 years would risk getting tossed from the championship just to spite Hamilton for....finishing runner up to their boy in 2021???) - Claiming the 2017 regulation changes were implemented by the racist FIA to stop him, ignoring the very obvious and explicitly stated intent by new owners Liberty media to speed up the pathetically slow and widely unpopular 2014-16 generation cars (while also ignoring the actual very blatant and successful effort to stop Michael Schumacher in 2005 with the new on the whim tire rules that completely undermined the multiple short stint sprint design philosophy of the bespoke Bridgestone clad Ferrari in favor of the Michelin's of literally every other front running team) - Fabricating Hamilton's background to pretend he was poor growing up when in reality he was middle class and Anthony Hamilton only struggled to make racing career ends meet, not literal ends meet (not to mention Lewis himself hinted this narrative during his Nico rivalry days which certainly annoyed people) -Dismissal and/or flat out denial of his naughty deeds (he's human like everyone else) such as instigating the Hungary 2007 pitlane spat with Alonso, or the many times he has thrown his team under the bus out of anger in the heat of the moment (something that is a sin to them whenever any other driver does it) I've met plenty of cool Hamilton fans, unfortunately though a very large (and very vocal) percentage of them are irrational insufferable fanboys who turn people away from their favorite driver.
Was genuinely surprised that you put this out, considering how bad the year was. So looking forward to next year, especially with how promising the latest developments have been. But considering how many of us thought at the start of the year that you’d be scrapping in the midfield, for the team to have still finished in the top 3 (and very much in contention for 2nd) is a magnificent recovery. Hoping that the momentum continues to next year.
I've been saying this since F2 but George is a future champ material. Same car with Max I feel like George is a better driver. Leclerc doesn't even compare to those two though I like him a lot. Let the hate flow in lol
I didn't like the way Lewis was often hard done by when he was ahead of George. Miami, Zandvort and Australia, Lewis had outqualified George and was ahead on track for 99.9% of those races, only for George to be given the strat to jump Lewis. That's not fair. Those 3 races alone saw a 20 plus point swing to George. What ever happened to your ethos of which ever driver is ahead on track gets priority?? Also, can BOTH drivers share the early experimenting next year. Lewis's pace was compromised in the early races of 2022 due to experiments while George was able to just concentrate on his driving. Now that George has settled into the team, i expect BOTH drivers to share any developmental/experimenting responsibilities.
You can tell how grateful they are for everyone’s hard work, and also that they both hate the W13. Everything learned this year though will make 2023 car incredible
@@boobrancher engine had very little to do with top speed deficit. The lack of top speed was primarily down to making a large portion of its downforce from the front and rear wing rather than the floor like red Bull and Ferrari. Hopefully lessons learned this year will allow the car to make more of its downforce from the floor and the use of lower drag wings will close the majority of the gap to the front. Honda and Ferrari both have great engine packages now so the merc may still be slightly behind but nowhere near as far off as it was in 2022
Congratulations to you the both of you. You put in your best. Atleast you still managed to push forward despite the kinks with W13. It's been a learning experience. Looking forward to the next chapter Lewis George

Glad to see them getting on. George is a gent and Lewis you just have to play a straight bat with him and there is no issues. Valterri was honest and not malicious and they also got on well.
I think this has been a character building year for the team, but also the fans. I know abu dhabi last year was sad, and some us gave shiz to red bull. But at the end of the year we all felt what it felt like to have a not as good car as had in the past

'my team don't make mistakes'
'dont you just hate the car?'
With you all the way Lewis, Never give up. ❤
1.) They are militant in declaring him the GOAT and anyone who voices any opinion deviating from theirs is immediately labeled a racist with no effort whatsoever on their part to actually listen to people's arguments (no doubt there are bums out there who dislike him for that reason, however they do not represent everyone)
2.) The constant efforts by them to inflate his legacy are exhausting, particularly when they consistently make up obviously BS narratives.
Some past and present examples of what I mean...
- Waving his stats around in comparison to peers while dismissing the unprecedented amount of great cars he has driven
- In Brazil claiming he let Russell win as a nice gesture (anyone with half a brain and no bias can easily see that's nonsense)
- Claiming Checo binned it on purpose at Zandvoort to stop Lewis from winning (because clearly Red Bull on cruise control to their 1st constructors championship in 9 years would risk getting tossed from the championship just to spite Hamilton for....finishing runner up to their boy in 2021???)
- Claiming the 2017 regulation changes were implemented by the racist FIA to stop him, ignoring the very obvious and explicitly stated intent by new owners Liberty media to speed up the pathetically slow and widely unpopular 2014-16 generation cars (while also ignoring the actual very blatant and successful effort to stop Michael Schumacher in 2005 with the new on the whim tire rules that completely undermined the multiple short stint sprint design philosophy of the bespoke Bridgestone clad Ferrari in favor of the Michelin's of literally every other front running team)
- Fabricating Hamilton's background to pretend he was poor growing up when in reality he was middle class and Anthony Hamilton only struggled to make racing career ends meet, not literal ends meet (not to mention Lewis himself hinted this narrative during his Nico rivalry days which certainly annoyed people)
-Dismissal and/or flat out denial of his naughty deeds (he's human like everyone else) such as instigating the Hungary 2007 pitlane spat with Alonso, or the many times he has thrown his team under the bus out of anger in the heat of the moment (something that is a sin to them whenever any other driver does it)
I've met plenty of cool Hamilton fans, unfortunately though a very large (and very vocal) percentage of them are irrational insufferable fanboys who turn people away from their favorite driver.
They will realize after he retires how big of an impact he left on this sport👍🏻
He is an AI
I hope George wins atleast 1 championship. He seems like a good lad.
❤I am so excited for next year when you bring those RB’s down a peg or two and at least we know you do it all fair and square ! Thank you all !
Just to have a cup of coffee (or tea) with them would be really nice. They're both really cool guys.
I can't help but think that by next year they will look back and smile at the lessons they learnt this year from the car. See you in 2023👍
Was genuinely surprised that you put this out, considering how bad the year was.
Lewis: *says anything*
George: Absolutely
I've been saying this since F2 but George is a future champ material. Same car with Max I feel like George is a better driver. Leclerc doesn't even compare to those two though I like him a lot. Let the hate flow in lol
Well done lads. Great reflections on a challenging year at Mercedes. Good luck for 2023 and beyond.
Amazing team, amazing chemistry between you guys, amazing content, THANK YOU !
I think it was necessary for Mercedes to be humbled once in a while to give more in the next season.
Good point tbf
You can tell how grateful they are for everyone’s hard work, and also that they both hate the W13. Everything learned this year though will make 2023 car incredible
There’s a engine freeze, Hamilton or Mercedes won’t be winning any championships until 2026 🤣😂
Honda and Ferrari both have great engine packages now so the merc may still be slightly behind but nowhere near as far off as it was in 2022
@@boobrancher Mercedes still have the best engine in f1 lol, the car was just draggy af
Congratulations to you the both of you. You put in your best.
Atleast you still managed to push forward despite the kinks with W13.
It's been a learning experience. Looking forward to the next chapter Lewis George
Lesgooo but we want the surfing video
People worried they would fight A la Rosberg .But these guys are at opposite ends of their careers . A very different dynamic ,to guys who had come up from karting together. It will get hotter if they're both fighting for WC . But I think this year has given them a solid foundation ,to maintain their respect.
Two English Blokes Paired well. A younger and more mature and humble soul learning and ready to respond and Lewis ever the maestro with love and compassion for all those that work hard everyday to get them the best. A Far cry from the current world champion attitude and demeanor, IMO. Looking forward to seeing these tear it up!!
I love their chemistry!
Loooove this content!!! The boys 💜❤️ We need more of this. This year was hard...
please please please Lewis get at least 8 championships before you even think of retiring. legend. well done george too on a great 1st season, i really wanted him to (if he had stayed at williams) bring them back from their low, but happy he is with the worlds best team that wins on merit, not cheating
Glad to see them getting on. George is a gent and Lewis you just have to play a straight bat with him and there is no issues. Valterri was honest and not malicious and they also got on well.
Best driver combo on the grid 🤷♂️😁👍
Brilliant job everyone! You guys and the whole team are such an inspiration! ❤
I think this has been a character building year for the team, but also the fans.
I know abu dhabi last year was sad, and some us gave shiz to red bull.
But at the end of the year we all felt what it felt like to have a not as good car as had in the past
I love this team, george and lewis are the best driver lineup on the grid by far!
This was actually the best driver combo in 2022, for sure.
Lewis and George you guys did us proud this year, especially when you consider the car. Looking forward to 2023, Come On!!!! 😁 😁
Thank you for the subtitles!! Not everyone can understand Bri'ish english!
George wins this with the ever enthusiastic response to the good and not so good moments of the season 😎
