call me goofy; but i can't help looking at our beloved Asher House menagerie as an orphanage for unwanted children: with some wise, aging elders tempering the energy of the wild youngins.
I see some as toddlers; some as rowdy teenagers; and some as lost adults having found themselves w/ no fam or friends to help them get on their feet to recover & thrive once more. Or to live to their last day in an environment of protection and love.
They all find companionship and family at Asher House where their Souls are healed.
You guys are the Best! 💙

It is overwhelming to see all of the different dogs who have been abandoned or abused that Asher House has taken in. Thank you Lee for being who you are and not giving up.
We have just too many irresponsible people around the world, including here in the US when it comes to animals. Luckily, more hoarding and neglect cases are getting shut down.

Right? When I take my blood pressure in the mornings, I think of the dogs running in the field or at the beach. Makes me so calm. (118/74 just for reference!!) 🤣😂🐾

It’s so sweet to see Lee chilling with his dogs. When he sits with them they can get some kisses in too. And Matilda, we all love her spunk and joy - she just jumps in to play paying no attention to her disability! All your dogs are inspirational, Lee … to keep going no matter what. ❤️🇨🇦🙏
I just love alll the dogs ,cats, horses, goats, donkeys, llamas, alpacas. But Matilda is my all time favorite. Bully's hold a special place in my heart❤❤❤❤❤❤

I've had a bad week on the rescue front... sometimes I feel like giving up. It's always the people who make things hard, not the dogs. Can't explain how much it means to open my phone and see this video. Matilda is my heart and soul, she looks SO GOOD. Princess? What a precious little angel, she must be new. I love the Asher House for so many reasons. Please keep reminding us what people who really love animals look like. It's my lifeline.
I thought the same thing about Princess and the spotty dog with the cool dreadlocks, what breed of dog is the dreadlocks dog? I don’t think I’ve seen anything like him/her before
I hope your week gets better. My late friend, Mary Stickney had a toy breed rescue in her small house. One time some locals decided to try and shut her down. They showed up at breakfast before she had a chance to clean the poop and pee inside. They took the dogs, even her personal dogs! She had to to court to get them back.
I don't run a rescue, but I was rescue 2 female 2 year old rotties from a so called "breeder", more like a puppy mill. They were in good condition, however, they were bonded, outdoor, not socialized & one was rehomed & brought back bcuz she didn't do good without her sister. I got them spayed & had to house break them. OMG, I absolutely loved them, but they were afraid of EVERYTHING. This was 3 days before the country shut down from covid. Getting into the vet, breaking up the sibling syndrome, socializing, training all a HUGE challenge. There were days I cried. It was sad & frustratingly trying to "undo" what PEOPLE did to them. I understand how you feel like giving up, but PLEASE don't. Fight the good fight. Saving the world, one dog at a time.
Matilda has got to be the most genuine kind fun loving dog I have ever loved to watch! She is and all the others are enjoying what a dogs life is suppose to be! Thank you Asher and staff for your devoted time and effort to please and make a home for all involved! My prayers and my support will always be with you!🩷🥰🐶

I def say it is the most rewarding to help all these animals and see them thrive but it does require a lot of hard work, dedication and going through heartbreaks when the dogs are ill or eventually pass

I love seeing them so happy. I'm facing having my dog put to sleep because of terminal bladder cancer. He was my husband's dog that passed from cancer 4yrs ago at the age of 55.
So sorry for your loss of husband and anticipated loss of beloved pet. I hope that, in time, you will be able to rescue another dog who will bring you comfort.

Thank you so much×1000 for all you do for your dogs. Wish I could join the movement more than I can as I have aged a lot. I have been blessed to have them in my life though. I didn't know it at the time but each of them have been my teacher. For some reason I want to speak of each of them to honor their lives. Freckles, Champagne, Sherman, Goliath, Chula, Dusty, Brownie, Cassie, Cinder and my remaining little rescue, Yoda. May God bless them all wherever they are now. I will love them forever. ❤❤❤ I had a few precious kitties along the way too and miss and still love them too. What a privilege to have shared our lives with our precious beloveds!
