People who dont understand baseball don't realize that batters have virtually no time to decide what to do with a 95 mph pitch, as soon as the ball is released, you have to predict the ball's end location and basically start your swing as soon as the ball is released, then you have to decide whether to swing or lay off. There's a reason why hitting a baseball is one of the hardest things to do in all of sports.

It's called batting practice and muscle memory. The more a player practice hitting a curveball, the better chance he'll hit it due to muscle memory. It becomes natural. This is of course all things being equal. A strikeout can also depend on many things besides the pitcher having good stuff.

Baseball Batter: The reaction time for a baseball batter is typically around 0.40 seconds to react to a pitch and make contact with the ball. This time can vary depending on the speed of the pitch, the distance from the pitcher to the plate, and the individual batter’s skills. For example, a 100 mph fastball would give the batter approximately 0.380 seconds to react.
Boxer: In boxing, reaction times are crucial for responding to an opponent’s punches. While there isn’t a direct equivalent to a baseball pitch, a boxer’s reaction time to a punch can be as short as 0.1-0.2 seconds. However, this time can vary greatly depending on the individual boxer’s skills, the type of punch, and the distance between the opponents.

I've faced up to 95mph as a hitter. As velocity increases, the perceived difference increases also. There's a huge difference between 85 and 88mph. But the difference seems much bigger from 90 to 93.
At 90mph or so, you start hearing the ball out of the pitcher's hand a lot more. It's a hiss and a slight buzz as it approaches the plate. And it's louder than anything else in your brain for that half second. The faster the pitch, the louder the buzz and it's a little bit terrifying. Good times! :)
Overall though, the animation is good at showing relative velocities and reaction time required.
Now just get your hands on a high end Magnus effect simulator and you can start throwing deuces. :P

This looks pretty good. Great depiction of the reaction time. What’s crazy though is that nothing could ever capture what it’s really like unless you’re standing in the batters box. I played baseball through college and I have no idea how these guys in the pros do it. The best pitcher I ever faced barely scratched the surface in the pros. He was an absolute stud in college. Threw the ball over 95 miles an hour as a pitcher and he led the league in Home runs as a hitter. Now the slowest pitchers in baseball will throw 95. They pull 100 like it’s nothing. A guy that throws upper 90s to 100 with multiple pitches is just insane.

Even if it doesn't actually represent the true speed of a pitch because the horizontal velocity by a slower pitch will be greater then that of a faster pitch. This leads to a 40mph pitch being even slower relative to a 100mph than indicated here.

This is likely faster than in the box since the ball is sustaining speed instead of losing it and has no arc. The reason why it feels slow is because there is no vertical movement to account for.
If you throw two objects with the same horizontal velocity but one flat and one in an arc, the one with the arc has a greater total velocity due to vertical movement.

I would recommend seeking pitching coaches or videos to improve your form as well as strength training. As a 17 year old your fastball needs to average 75-85 mph.

Hey, that was great! This shows a “fastball” but if you want to do a 2.0, you should show a couple of other pitches like curve and sinker. Also, you might want to think about collaborating with some baseball commentators like Jomboy and your idea could really take off! I think you’re on to something here. Thank you for this video.
