To be able to say that you met this _Adult_ at the age of 12 and became "friends", it is concerning to see that in her 20s she can't see how that is completely inappropriate. Hearing JoJo talk about this makes it sound very much like she was also a victim and hasn’t come to terms with it yet, so she thinks what happened to her was ok - and in turn was ok for all the other kids, too. She was obviously emotionally abused on Dance Moms and that likely made it a lot easier for Colleen and other adults to further emotionally abuse her. It could take a really long time for her to see and accept that. I am 38 and have only recognized and come to terms with my childhood abuse, trauma, and emotional grooming in the last three months (thanks to my very wonderful and patient therapist). I hope, if this is the case, she is able to have her own breakthrough sooner rather than later and can start a journey of healing and acceptance.
