I remember when I heard this I didn't know what was scummy about it back then. After I learned about copyright in one of my classes in college only then did I realize how incredibly fucked-up it was.
I am glad at least that they got what they deserved. Unfortunately there are situations where youtube doesn't help at all, but at least the answer to the unjustified bullshit of FBE was unanimous. Everyone didn't buy it.

In their response to the "React World" controversy, they really sounded like what they wanted to say was "sorry you guys didn't understand what we were trying to do".
React World was like if Johnny Carson tried to get rid of all late night comedy shows on the basis that he did it first despite being the 3rd host of the Tonight Show.
Honestly, one of my dreams is to eventually get famous enough to be able to react with you guys. It just seems like a chill time and seems fun. But alas, I have quite a ways to go first.

@@marioh1476 Well I would say Buzzfeed "failed" not in the same way from what I saw they lost relevancy their core audience grew and were no longer interested Buzzfeed is at the uh bottom of failure where most items and hot topic fact channels go now the Ace family and fine bros are up their with the Blasphemous HD debacle and fall from fame in terms of how they reacted and their attitude.
RUclipsr utoovoos made a multi-part series about this same topic. It goes even deeper and digs up some genuinely disturbing aspects of the brand that have basically been lost to time.
Even the people who use to be on the React channel said how much they would cut back on somebody's opinion even though the point of the videos was to get peoples opinions good or bad
the fine bros getting all pissy in their apology video is like if they decided to try and choke someone to death and people were calling them out so they stopped and then got mad at the people calling them out for trying to kill someone when they were "just gonna stop before that person died" 🙄
I lost all respect for them after that.
I was subbed to them and when they tried to copyright the word react, I unsubbed and when I saw the "apology" vid, I was all, "Bullshit, you guys tried to do something and you got caught"

OMG the Fine Bros. I remember the React World stuff but didn't understand what it meant back then when it came out. All I remember was an apology statement. After a few minutes into this video all I can say is:
WHAT THE FLYING F**K!?? The level of GREED and EGO they had,.claiming that their reactions were the OG reactions and they demand a cut from anyone else who does reaction content. Telling their fans to spam links to their content on Facebook. JEEEEEZUS they're insane.

Most companies only "supported" black lives matter because there was business opportunities in it, and if they didn't support it, they would lose a lot of money.
Same goes for pride month. If companies did truly care about pride and acceptance of gay, bi, or other people, they would be supporting them year-round, NOT just during the one month. Even then, all they do is just change their company icons and release rainbow products.

What the fine brothers did reminds me of the Nintendo content creator program where people can broadcasted gameplay on RUclips but they had to give Nintendo 40% of the ad revenue🤦🏿♀️
yeh anything Nintendo related is dangerous dont stream, dont do compilations dont do anything they are the worst for strikes. It's like playing music on Twitch you could be fine but the odds are not good, they are very free when it comes to strikes almost as bad as Disney....almost.

Exactly. One of their first videos I saw was the spicy hot wings competition. I got into their work and watched them regularly. But after their true colors were exposed first with React World, then the racist and abusive behavior, I immediately abandoned ship.
Even if the founders aren't part of the current company and the current cast/crew are ambitious about doing things correctly, I just don't see them being redeemed after such tainted experiences. On Twitter, teen reactor Kennedy spoke out against FBE but elder reactor Catherine got into it with her, defending the group. It's such a messed up and unfortunate fall from grace situation.

The whole thing about the Fine Bros thinking the ideas they've made is completely original while everything related to kids/elders reacting is a ripoff of them reminds me of YMS's Kimba video... I'm surprised you guys haven't done a reaction to that one! It's long as hell but super informative about the controversy of Kimba the White Lion vs The Lion King, about what an actual ripoff is and what isn't, especially when comparison shots are incredibly divisive and out of place, and even when a name rhymes with another.
Kimba stuck as a name because it sounded more marketable. Simba was chosen as a name for The Lion King because it literally means "lion" in Swahili.
The Fine Bros trademarking the word react reminds me so much of record labels and musicians copyrighting chord progressions. Imagine sending someone to court all because they used the same CHORD PROGRESSION that's been used in hundreds if not thousands of songs for years.
Ah, that's a name I haven't heard in a long while. So, those two managed to commit one huge mistake and made a different but still quite huge mistake years later, huh? They certainly seem quite egotistical to not only try to trademark something that couldn't be trademarked but also do some stupid business practices towards employees while also supporting a rather volatile and almost equally egotistical extremist group. I thought I'd seen enough stupidity on Twitter, the willing variety, but this is something I didn't know happened. In the end, it seems they became a nigh-forgotten laughingstock and a definition of failure.

Like you guys, there are reactors who care about the content creator.
One other reactor I like would react to one creator's videos, but the creator asked him to stop and to just unlist the previous reactions to his content, and the reactor did just that.
BUT... when he did react to future videos from the creator, the creator's video (and audio) would not be in the reactor's video, so the viewer would HAVE to visit the content creator's video AND watch the reaction at the same time; that way both parties would benefit. Genius.
Who was the first to do RUclips gameplay? Of course it doesn't matter what game it is, it matters that it was gameplay! According to their logic, no one should post gameplay. Who was the first to speedbuild in minecraft or the sims? Nobody has to / can do them (I differentiate them from Gameplay because for me the gameplay is playing an entire game, not just building something for example in minecraft without facing mobs or collecting material!) ...

Honestly I like to think of it this way instead of a shit past its hopeful future a multimillion subscriber channel empire that seems like it was going to take over instead failed due to its own ego while the renegades thrive being able to adapt when people leave and things change all because its not about the numbers here it's about sitting on a couch with loved ones and doing some thing you love. I love this channel and it shows that being a decent human is better than being a bunch of massive assholes with money

I didn't start watching RUclips until 2015 or 16 I believe and reaction and gaming videos I started watching the most and FBE was one of them and then years went by and sometimes in the late 2010s that I was watching a video on RUclipsrs reaction of being jumpscare and the description had that the video was copyright by FBE "React World" and it was the first time I heard of this but I didn't care about checking it and now I know along with other crap things that they did

I admit that I enjoyed a lot of their videos, but I haven't been back since unsubscribing.
