A great story... when our egoism doesn't let us see ourselves and we stop seeing others... loneliness and emptiness when we have everything to live grateful and happy...The story of our life is written every second, we don't need full days to live it.
Great story and great reminder. I live in Syracuse NY and winters here are bitter. I just ordered a shelter supply of socks, hats, mittens, scarfs and blanks to take to the homeless shelter. I was going to put packages together to drop off at the local shelter that had a mobile unit that takes things to the homeless that refuse to come in out of the cold. There is enough to put 20 packages together. It's a perfect opportunity to get others involved, hopefully the younger generation so they can learn to do the same. Lead by example is important but leading by getting others involved carries things a lot further.
Great movie we really need to stop and look around and serve others as Jesus did I'm grateful for his love and mercy

Great movie thank you. You need to figure out the sound issue though. It has to be turned up at full volume for the movie only for the ads to come on at a deafening volume.

I have been watching Christmas movies all day everyday for the past week and I'm all Christmased out, I am recovering from a accident so have nothing to do except watch movies and build lego. These movies remind me how much I hate my family.

If you have a laptop or computer, you could use a speaker/speakers. I had to use my speaker for my laptop, because the volume was low.

Great movie, but why does the main actress have to be plastered in lipstick? She is a natural beauty and doesn't need that crap. Would be nice to see her without any makeup. Lipstick is the single most abominable invention ever created.

Yes it was great story and I agree the father should have ended the prayer in Jesus name plus the ending would have been better if Jen and the boy would have gotten married especially if the movie contained kissing. It truly would have a great family movie.

That's a typical example of bad American parenting.
When the father decides that it time for his daughter to be more responsible, he does that by disciplining her, as a punishment, and also conditioning the promised Paris trip on her forced cooperation.
That's authoritarian and generally really bad parenting.
Instead, he should have levelled with her, talked to her as an adult, explaining that he simply couldn't manage the situation, the children, the household, taking care of his wife while at the same time trying to keep his job, without her help. That he and her mother desperately need her help to keep it together.
The motivation, the reason is key. Never give children rules, chores or orders just because, or for vague, future-related reasons...
Be specific, be concrete when you explain why, and remember that a child's whole reality perception is now, or within the next month - the future is off-topic.
"It will teach you how to...", "it will teach you an invaluable lesson", those are among the most pointless things an adult could tell a child...
It was also really stupid to introduce the family shelter work as a punishment.

There was too much kissing for two people that just got to know each other. And especially in front of her family.
i did a research to discover why some students of foreign languages had difficulty to develop fluency and it turns out abuse was the major culprit --- what a surprise to find this movie advocates for the same cause: language is a result of trust and love
