It shows how strong proxy planetary is, even a top 20 MMR Grandmaster needs to make the perfect counter to have a chance of beating it... So glad he won that last game by just blind countering it...
@SC2_Sepheron People here only know him from his encounters with Uthermal, and you can't claim he misbehaved in these encounters. Maybe you should consider that he may have changed his attitude and you should applaud him for that. People can change and it is a lot easier to change if you get positive feedback...
@SC2_Sepheron Or maybe the backlash made him realise he was an ass and he needed to change his ways. Either way, it is never bad to praise someone when they are doing good. He may have changed his ways after the backlash or he may be faking it, but the positive feedback will reinforce his behaviour...
Just praise good behaviour and call out bad behaviour, but if you treat someone badly even though he did good because of past behaviour then you are just saying that you don't care whether someone changes and thus you don't give them any reason to change.
@SC2_Sepheron well he may well be a horrible person elsewhere, but in THIS example he was very honorable. It might be an exception to his normal behavior but that doesn’t diminish the need to recognize his conduct here.

I remember at the beginning of this series people were saying this might be the first challenge thermy might not even reach GM. Now here we are at 6k mmr

ah you did post it haha thanks for the that. WP Captain. The build is actually super strong. the harass that comes with it is touigh to deal with alone let alone the thought of having to deal with a PF being built at your nat.

What's crazy to me is that there is a former professional zerg who did 3 years of Bronze to GM for each race. And, in 2/3 years, he couldn't get Terran to GM on NA. Meanwhile thermy is literally taking bongclouds and PFs and proxy nexus and everything else to GM at will (including top 10 for PF lol).
I never imagined you'd get this far with proxy PFs! Fantastic finale! Took 5 tries but Wrocker finally got his revenge at the very end haha.
I had a vision watching the last Planetary show.
Planetary rush + BC (at least one but could be more) rush. Land the twin ibex in front and warp the bc to the back.
Just to have Marc try a one-off with it.

Tbh I wanted that guy to win the last game, I felt he went through so many bad games (for him) and at the end he overcome obstacles and won. Well done to both of you :)

Edit: Have you considered streaming on youtube? I personally dislike twitch as a company, ever since they stabbed Dr.Disrespect in the back and tried to destroy his career and then refused to even disclose their reasoning. That company treats their creators like shit while taking more than half of the revenue. (Rant over)
Love this series! Got to lose to you when you were warming up before stream. I lost very quickly trying a 1 base roach rush, best game I've ever played.
Best SC2 cheese series to date, glad to see 6k, sad to see the series is over. 100% would watch a 3 hour stream of planetary rushes.

Uthermal plays his old series builds on his second channel: uthermal 2. So we will probably still be able to see planetary fortress rush there.
I loved the part when he said "its thermalin time!" and proceeded to uthermal all over them!
For that final game it might have been a better idea to float the planetary into the main while attacking the natural at the same time. This would mean he needs to defend 2 positions instead of just one.

“Front door to Grandmaster”
No drops, front door, front line combat only. You have to bust your opponents wall-offs/front line defence.

I think it would be pretty tough to do a Thor rush and battlecruiser build. Can only build the 1 reaper and 5 marines then only slow ass thors and battle cruisers. Medivacs so you can Thor drop us ok.

Next challenge idea: Supply Block to GM. Try to hamstring your opponent by constantly harassing their supply (overlords, depots, pylons, etc.). Probably has to be paired with something else for the killing blows. Just an idea.
