I've had the Ninebot Mini (not Pro) for 5 / 6 months and have hundreds of miles going through the neighborhood, park, dirt trails, over grass. All that is not a big deal, except for the fact I weigh 250 lbs. which is way over its weight limit. I'm sure I'll have a failure due the weight, but so far all is well with no hint of impending collapse. Loving it...
Thank you! Been dying to find out if the mini could support 220+ lbs... i suspected the mini and pro had the same chassis, so didnt know why they wouldnt hold the same weights. I think it's just marketing.
Yes it will take much more then specs says for one reason: commodity item have to factor in confidence levels, in scuba diving for exe. It is way over five x , the factory takes tanks once in a while during production, take them in the testing area in the open and blow them generally a tank rated at 3300psi blow at around 20,000psi, get the picture? Now back at Segway/NineBot, first I own just about all the models of Segway since 2004 and discovered NineBot with Mini then Segway MiniPro then Segway MiniPlus which is a misnomer since the MiniPlus is a frigging Star, no way can you compare in performance such as speed autonomy algorithms in soft; MiniPlus blows my mind every time I ride it. Back on topic, If you pack some weight, DO NOT EVER TAKE OFF TOO ABRUTLY SPECIALLY WHEN BATTERY IS DOWN LIKE 15%, I paid the price so I can tell you now, I am only 165lbs and I left a little meat on the ground in France, my beef is, it turned off and locked the wheels, I was propelled forward onto asphalt, not very pleasant when in vacation Anything you want to know about Segway just contact me StClaireUSA@gmail.com
I upgraded from the mini to the mini pro. I get WAY more battery life from my mini pro than the mini. I'm also 250+ What I found worth the extra money was the pro seems to handle more uneven terrain and steeper inclines than the mini.
So I have both, here is the Segway Secret. If you use the ninebot mini pro charger because it puts out 62.5 volts to charge your "MiniPro" you will get 19 mile range on the Segway version. The first time it will charge fully then go down one bar and charge fully until the led bars blink. The Ninebot Mini actually only gets around 12 miles and will not charge fully using the Segway Charger as it puts out 59 volts. The issue with the false readings is more App related. I own both and have gone further upto 15 real miles with battery left and I weight 195lbs. The small jump in motors from 350- 400 watts per wheel might help uphill when carrying extra weight. The 400w motors with the extra Capacity battery seem to draw less power and feel underpowered. The 10mph speed limit. The 350 watt motors seem to be more nimble, although it might be the knee control system that is found on the Segway model, seems bulky and unnecessary expect for the pullout hand control. Mystery Solved!
Comment: "Wow, this Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series looks like a game-changer for outdoor enthusiasts like us! With its massive capacity and fast recharging capabilities, we can power all our devices and appliances for extended periods. The waterproof technology is also a great feature for those unexpected rainstorms during our camping trips. Can't wait to try it out!"Response: "I completely agree! The Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series seems like the perfect solution for all our outdoor power needs. Its durable design and comprehensive protections give me peace of mind, especially during camping trips. It's definitely worth considering for anyone looking for a reliable power source on their adventures. Thanks for sharing your excitement!"
Theres no scam, just different pricing and marketing in different parts of the world. Also its cheaper in production to make two models out of one, it happens all the time in many factories. One example is outboard motors, they are often exactly the same in 6-8 9.9 and 15 hp, only with different carburators and exterior. Much cheaper to downgrade an existing model than to r&d a brand new one, set up a whole new assembly line, etc etc.
I bought a white one and a black one on Amazon Prime day for $698 each and couldn't be happier. They are now $798 on Amazon and in Sam's club. I am 100% satisfied. Have ridden a little over 150 miles combined.
Battery management firmware is beyond my engineering capability. I'll leave it to the manf. Maybe for UL certification it required limiting in the US, who knows? I have a warranty at least and this thing is plenty fast with a charge that outlasts my feet. 15 miles on a single charge at an average speed over the 1.5-2 hour ride of 8.1mph is good enough for me.
The big question is ..... is it possible to upgrade the Mini PRO so that the Mini PRO can have the more powerful motors of the Mini PlUS ? Issue with Mini PLUS is that the PLUS doesn't have adjustable knee bar. The Mini PRO has adjustable bar ..... but unfortunately hasn't got the powerful motors of the PLUS. So it would be nice to have a Mini PRO that has the motors seen in the PLUS.
I just bought 2 Segway miniPROs and paid top dollar. I have rode a few different types and stability matters. I am not the most coordinated person in the world but I can zip around no problem on the Segway models. I bring them camping and we take them when we go to the camp store. I zip over grass, dirt roads, etc and not a single issue. The cheaper ones I have tried, well let’s just say I almost died. Find a noob like maybe your mom or someone who has never ridden one before and have them try both and let’s then see how “the same” they are.
You can now get the MiniPro at Sam's and Amazon for $798. The Segway was also selling for $699 on Amazon Prime day. I did pay the $999 on Amazon, but then just returned it and ordered a new one for the $699 price. It seems the price is going down, not up. So now the only difference is an extra $150 for the miniPro. (The Ninebot is actually around $550 with shipping) That does seem worth it for the warranty and the UL listing peace of mind. They had to change the charging system and wiring, so that the battery pack won't catch on fire. Also, the miniPro is rated for 220lbs, where the mini is only at 190lbs.
yes, the price has come down since they priced it wrong. even at current "sale" price it is still too expensive to most. you didn't have to return and buy again with amazon. you just had to call segway customer service and they would have refunded you the $300 difference. that is what i did.
I did not know that. I did call Amazon asking if they would credit, they said they used to do that, but the new process was to go thru the return process. Luckily, I have a nearby locker room so I didnt pay any shipping charges. Im surprised that Segway Customer service would do the refund. I guess they didnt want to get the returns back. How did they refund the difference. Amazon just credited my credit card within a week.
you just give the order number to customer service and they refund on original order. Just go to the facebook site segwaypro, there is a post there under the amazon prime day post, a few of us all got the refund back. great customer service!
Performance wise is equally indifferent, but I noticed the pro does not beep quite as much or tilt as much, I can't believe the 400 w motor is that different from 350 w...
guessing the the 400w motor has higher torque as it has the lower voltage battery, so higher amps. i've not felt much difference in my speed test either.
THAT KICK BACK IS A RIGHT ROYAL PAIN ,IT CAUSES STRESS AND ALWAY CAUSES ME TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BLOODY RD WHEN CROSSING ,ITS AWFUL NEVER HAPPENS ON MY XIAOMI MINI ,ALWAYS HAPPENS ON MY NINEBOT MINI ,AND MY NINEBOT MINI PRO AND I REALLY HATE IT ,
+MEtv Product Reviews Think about it. If I was the manufacturer, why would I create two assembly lines to make two of the same product. I am willing to bet, the battery is interchangeable just as you have shown with other things.
it is the same assembly line probably, but different bms. one is 4300mah the other is 5700mah, so the cells have different capacity even thought they are the same numbers of them. that is how they get the higher capacity. the bms is internal to the main board and where you connect the battery charger. the battery itself is just two contact connectors to the main board held to it by 4 screws. you can swap them, but you can't swap the chargers. i've tried. lol. minipro bigger 170w charger which basically does 2amps doesn't charge the mini.
You ignorant electronics, and so you write nonsense. Think logically, if the battery goes by only 2 wires, which means only one BMS is a battery inside. You pick up any device with Li-ion batteries, notebooks, wheelboards, phone batteries, etc., they all gather together with BMS, otherwise the wire conductor 30 cell I would certainly more than 2. Given the fact that ninebot mini and mini pro installed on the same firmware, connectors, battery size and fixing the same, there is no doubt that the batteries can be interchanged. It makes no sense to buy a mini-pro for almost 3 times the price, despite the over-capacity battery than the more powerful engines with different caps than the adjustable steering wheel. mini mini pro and weight the same time, since the base material and fastenings are the same. Good day everyone.
there are sensors under your rubber pads. you must not be engaging them or they might be faulty. unless you are referring to the speed limit beeping. if you are hitting over 10.x mph, then the mini or the minipro will beep at you and throttle you back. it is a safety feature.
how heavy are you? i'm guessing you are a little under weight, meaning less than 90lbs? I've noticed this behavior for the mini if the rider is under 90lbs and not all riders but some will get that annoying beeping and the adjustments. try adjusting your feet to be perfectly in the middle of the pads.
5700mah compared to 4100mah is huge difference that 1600mah do you know how many trees you can cut with that power, I also believe that you can climb Mount Everest for less.
Question My Friend Do You Know Ninebot Mini Pro By Segway Is Coming Out With A Robot Handle . A Robot Type Handle That Allows The Ninebot To Follow You Around. Give A Review If You Can.
The MiniPro Segway is now $588 on Amazon as of Mat 8, 2017.... What;s the link to get the Ninebot?, and is it still $350 and will they ship to the USA?
Dear Arnold, I have seen in Aliexpress Spain (bought in China, sent from China of course) for 450 €. It´s a good option. Others sellers in Spain is about 700 €. Amazing
i HAVE 398 MILES ON MY MINI AND IT IS 2 YEARS OLD AND IT IS AS STRONG AS EVER AND IT IS PERFECT -APART FROM HAVING TO REPLACE BOTH THE TIRES TWICE COS OF PUNCTURES AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE VALVES TOO I CHARGE IT -AND RIDE IT 2 OR 3 TIMES A DAY BUT I NEVER RIDE IT BELOW 2 BARS ,B4 CHARGING IT I HAVE A PRO TOO ,ITS NOT ANY BETTER THAN THE MINI ,IN FACT I DONT RATE IT ,UNLESS YOU PUT HYBRID TYRES ON IT LIKE I HAVE ,BUT FRANKLY THE MINI IS AWESOME
Not only the stick is different, batteries and motors are also more powerful. Maybe it doesn't worth but engines and batteries are different (bigger and more powerful)
hi. have u test out the small battery upgrade into larger battery for 9bm? larger battery and longer distance milage lot more important than you showing other stuff.
I got a mini the problem with this is the price of the parts to upgrade the minipro stick is 90$ and the side plates 60 wayyy to expensive for me i just painted 3 red stripes and 1 grey fixed
This thing is 10x better if you order the handlebars for it you can get it off there site. I have a video using the handlebars once I added them never went back to the knee staring, works like a charm :) They cost an extra 185$ but be sure to get the one with the kick stand. Been using mine for 3 months
Don't need the handlebar. With kneebar frees up your hands. The handlebar gives you a false sense of security. It already takes just a few seconds to learn.
handle bar its for the bigger model, but belive me, handlebar its a waste of time!!!! once you get use to this mini marvel you will realize the handle bar its from the dark ages. Don waste any money on them.
how would using a handlebar improve this at all??? the kneebar is perfect - a handlebar is bulky, limiting, dorky looking and not nearly as much fun. plus, you have to use your hands. Maybe you just don't feel comfortable with the knee bar ? Or you didn't adjust it to your height?
+showmak obviously if you can't get it for 350, only difference is 30 bucks, get the pro. My argument is that Ninebot wanted money and instead of bringing over both so people have a choice, the brought over a slightly upgraded version and tried to sell it for 3x the amount. They are still making a killing on $599.
Also isnt the china one all plastic? Or also magnesium? And trust me im with you how lovely would it be even if they sold it here in the usa for 500 bucks. But since they acquired segway they have to make back their investment . Plus they acquired segway for long term revenue , im sure they knew with that name they could charge allot more than for the ninebot name.
The Mini's max load is 85kg, whereas the Mini Pro is 100kg. Heavier people have to pay more. Also, the Mini Pro is certified safe by Underwriter Labs, while it is illegal to ship the Mini into the US. The Mini was meant to be for the China market only. If you do import a Mini into the US, it is technically illegal and unsafe.
i found no such limit in weight in real life. it is on paper. UL listing could have been done for both and both imported to the USA. their parts are identical.
can you do me a huge favor. can you attempt to remove the center column on your mini? I need to ship my mini to my sister, but after removing the two screws at the base, the center column still will not come off!!! I've tried to pry it off but it will not budge! I don't remember if it gets locked onto the shaft... I have a mini and not the mini pro with QD release.
you just need to giggle it, see my video starting at 11 minutes. just with the screws off, rock the center column side to side quickly. that allowed me to remove the stuck minipro stick. btw, prying doesn't work! I tried in the video with a screw driver and it didn't work... but the shaking it back and forth worked great!
I just bought the Minilite. It doesn’t have the alarm system like the Minipro. Can anyone suggest me a good way to keep it from being stolen if I go in to a store or something? No snarky remarks please.
I'm in DC and my commute to work is 4 miles. I've done the trip a couple of times. I think that I'm going to upgrade to the hybrid tires, because these city streets AND sidewalks are F'd up.
There was a misprint in the original manual on the weight limit. If they really want to nail the United States market, they need to support 320lbs.. The average American is getting fatter and fatter.
+MEtv Product Reviews My guess is that the "average range" would be far less on the Ninebot Mini if a 220 lb person rode it than on the Segway Mini Pro
lol, what makes the Xiaomi different then Segway is motor size, battery size, the Xiaomi is not Ul approved, the Xiaomi does not carry a warranty in the US. Dude, want to make a video talking about the difference dont just use the fact that the hub caps and steering bar are interchangeable. Tell me the difference in BSAs on the two, or the BCU? What do I do if my Xiaomi needs repair a month after I purchaes? Three months? Are the Xiaomi in the country leagally if noy UL regulated or is it a Gray Market purchase meaning if even if I was willing to send overseas to be repaired, can I have it returned to me due to State regulations stopping non UL from entering the States? So if it breaks I have a $350 door stop?
Yes I know, my point being this person has no idea what it is he's speaking about. The Xiaomi mini does not carry a warranty here in the States. Yes, there are a lot of similarities to the two machine but they are two different machines. He is trying to point out that they are both the same and that Segway is just marking up its version and he could not be any more wrong.
John Erwin: if it breaks, buy another one (still positive $300). If that one breaks, buy another one (now even). I don't disagree that UL is important as cheap Li-ion batteries can be very dangerous.
I don´t know in US, but in Spain (UE) I have seen two suppliers (sellers) with two years warranty, aftersale service for Xiaomi Mini (not pro), with UE stamp and, of course, 450€ vs 700 €. The business is clear...
John Erwin So those differences make up the 3 times price tag... I think not.. they are both made by the same company sure their slight differences but never were three times the amount
PUT ON HYBRED TYRES WILL MAKE IT GO A MILE OR TWO FASTER ,BUT I DONT MINE THE SPEED ITS THE BLASTED KICK BACK ITS DANGEROUS AS IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN IM CROSSING THE DAM ROAD AND CAUSES ME TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RD ..
yep! i worked on it with screwdriver, deleted scene for 5 minutes until i figured i give that a try. I remember if you don't tighten the screws enough on the pro, it was loose. you can see it in one of the videos where i had to tighten the screws hidden behind the rubber nub. the pro came from the factory with the quick release attached and not well. lots of complaints about it coming loose.
does it work with the the apple app store version? like if you click the first one that shows up as ninebot&segway will it work with this one? please let me know because this will decide for me if i buy the ninebot mini instead of the us version. please let me know as of writing this it is 11-16-16 thanks!
+Jason Smith (jkblaq) well if you are not US centric and think the world revolves around the US, then you can get the 9bot mini in China for $310. I'm sure 9bot can bring over the mini for $350 and still make lots of money. It cost them less than $100 to mass produced.
Listen you little commie,no one said they are US centric and think the world revolves around the USA... ONLY YOU SAID THAT ! Your comment/reply shows your bias and jealousy. Stop with your lying bullshit and go protest your commie Government instead of blaming the west for your shitty situation. You POS's are now even knocking off and making fake food (yes do a search on youtube everyone),how sick is that . Just search for "Fake Chinese Food" You POS sent over lead tainted toys for children and killed our Dogs with your FN Dog food.I could go on and on the shit that China sells to the world. If western countries stop buying your shit, that you ship around the world, your living conditions would plunge so fast, and you still wouldn't have the courage to overthrow your commie government to make things right. China=the lowest slave wage of the world, who treats their workers like bots!
So honestly, I don't understand your criticism. What exactly are you unhappy about? I believe you purchased your two Segways from Amazon. If so, if you think the pricing is too expensive, then why not return the Segways to Amazon? Is it because they won't take them back after you've taken them apart -- at least one of them? If they'll take them back, then send them back and get your money back. Then you can go buy 3 more from China. It's a free country. If you don't think the Segway is worth the price, then don't buy it. Or return it. It's really simple.
You can't return items to Amazon just because you don't like them. You have to have a defect or some thing wrong with the description. My criticism is that they are charging too much and it shows as they keep on lowering the price. I question their motive in bringing over the "pro" and jacking up the price vs bringing over the mini and selling at a lower price. The price is preventing this from taking off. Obviously I can afford a few and it isn't an issue for me. But for the vast majority it is a stretch to get even one!
You can return anything to Amazon within 30 days. I returned my Segway and purchased a new one for $699 on Amazon prime day. Only had the original Segway for 2 weeks.
I was just honest. I said that I found a better price. It is listed as a valid reason. I just dropped it off at a local locker room service station. Didnt pay anything.
hope you didn't list better price was amazon. lol. it is just a hassle to return a heavy box. segway customer service was really good about refunding the difference.
Best Buy sells the nine but Segway mini light for $329. It's UL listed and aircraft grade aluminum. It is lower capacity battery but still does 10 mph and has an 11 mile range. The payload is only 178 pounds but it's a good deal for the price
i got a nine bot mini and it is not compatable with any of my tablets or phones ,and it has this awful dam speed limit which is ruining my life right now .any one help me please nine bot customer service stinks
you can get the mini pro at sams club for $399 right now. debating if I should get one. the tag in the store says original price was $799. sounds like 50% off
Not a scam. Just business. Also they have to make money back by buying Segway so they need to raise prices a little. I have no problem with that. Business is about making money, that's it. And no do doubt copycats will come so need to maximize profit while they can. Good video though.
+Sak __ they bought Segway for cheap. Also they had this before they bought Segway. All they did was slap the Segway name on this and a few minor upgrades and tripled the price.
No. this is not correct. Ninebot Mini uses the same self balancing patented tech from original Segways. 4-15-2015 NineBot announces acquisition of Segway. On 10-19-2016, Ninebot announces Ninebot Mini to be sold in China for 1999 rmb (equivaliant to $315 at press time) starting 11-3-2015. Ninebot Mine was not in existence before Segway acquisition. It purchase price of Segway was never disclosed.
+lanceguilin ninebot already had the bigger vehicles that resemble segways before they bought their competition out for $80 mil. I think it is purely coincidence that the mini came out months after the acquisition. Maybe they put some of the Segway tech to use but they already had self balancing bigger vehicles that compete directly with segways.
Just curious, have you ever ridden on an original Segway? I have. The ride, the self balance, the braking system all the exact same to me between a Ninebot Segway Mini and the original Segway PT. Unless Ninebot reverse engineered and stole patented tech, the Segway Mini Pro is using original Segway patented self balancing tech.
Thats true in 2015........earlier, Segway was sold in 2009 to British millionaire entrepreneur James Heselden, who died a year later when he accidentally rode one off a cliff. The company was bought by Summit Strategic Investments LCC in 2013. Or was he murdered ? 😆
Lest you think I'm a Segway fanboy who thinks they can do no wrong. I have a huge criticism of my own against Segway. The most recent firmware update has limited the speed down to 10mph. I believe it was faster before. The speed limiter and the throttle pushing the control stick backwards is extremely annoying and DANGEROUS. That is EXTREMELY annoying. I am seriously considering returning my Segway for this reason. I hope they release an update soon that increases the speed limit again. Back to firmware 1.2.8 speeds.
Don't get me wrong. I love their product that is why I say it is the best out there. But I do think they priced it out of most people which I have an issue with. The throttling is fine. If you look at my speed test, you can see it starts warning at 11mph usually and doesn't stop until hits above 12mph for both mini and pro. The limit is there to keep you safe. I don't have a problem with the tilting backwards to stop you from going too fast. I don't know how they can do it otherwise.
I have wanted a real Segway since it came out in 2002. Given a price of $5000+, it was indeed out of my price range. I've waited and waited. And it's finally down to below $1000. I got it for $699 from Amazon Prime Day. This price point doesn't bother me as much as it bothers you. Would I like it for $350 instead? Of course. But I'm realistic. The success or lack of success of Segways is NOT their pricing. It's laws. Since you have a Tesla, you can appreciate that there are people who can afford expensive toys. I live in Silicon Valley and I see Telsas dime a dozen here. People can afford Segways for under $1000. However there are extremely discriminatory laws in the US which prevents their mass adoption. NYC and SF are perfect examples. Both cities have BANNED the use of Segways on sidewalks. I was just in SF last weekend trying to ride the Segway around. It's very difficult given the crowded city streets and aggressive drivers. In Golden Gate Park, you cannot ride the Segway on the sidewalks or park path ways. You can ONLY ride the Segway on the road and on bike lanes. Local ordinances and state laws prevent the mass adoption of Segways, not pricing. With high end smart phones costing $750+, a Segway for $699 is not a big deal.
The law isn't the problem and let me tell you why... It didn't stop the hoverboard from being the most popular item until they started to catch on fire. If people like them and they are the right price, they don't care about the law and laws will change. In NYC it is banned, but it isn't enforced. No one bothers you, the cops don't care and they even buy it themselves! LOL. Again, the price only bothers me in that my friends and family won't get it. If it was $350, they would all get one in a heartbeat!
Again that's your take. I disagree. I'm in legal, so the law is everything in my view. "hoverboards" are toys. They can't be used as actual commuting devices. Go over any bumps and you spin like crazy. Not controllable at all. People break laws all the time of course. Speeders on the road all the time. People driving through stop signs with rolling stops. Yes, it happens. Doesn't mean that the NYC police won't eventually issue you a ticket if you ride one of these on the sidewalk. It may be discretionary but it's on the books and you'll lose every time if you try to fight it in court.
+lanceguilin NYC police don't care about you riding you hoverboard or Segway. Just like it is illegal to jaywalk, they don't ticket you for it ever in NYC.
Why you keep emphasizing "3X the price" but the reality is that the lowest any American can get for the Xiaomi is $600 and the Segway is $799? that's just a third more! And for 1/3 more, you get: 1) 31% bigger bettery. 2) 14% more powerful motor. 3) 220 lb payload. 4) UL fire safety sticker ( this might be the ticket to board certain transportations in the future) 5) removable/adjustable paddle for at least easier trunk storage. 6) Segway USA warranty service VS. good luck ship it back to China warranty (if they do offer). Do you still think the Segway version a scam to you?
First of all guess you don't know xiaomi owns ninebot which owns Segway? They could have shipped the mini over they are identical. You don't get bigger battery because they restrict the charging to 4800mah. The bigger motors don't matter. The higher weight limit is there to make you think there is a difference. I've had heavier on both and had no issues. Don't be so USA centric. They sell the pro everywhere else long before they brought it over and slapped the Segway label on it. Key is ninebot could have brought the mini over with the upgraded adjustable stalk. It is not even worth mentioning how much it cost them. If they are selling the mini in China for $310. They could have brought over for $350. When they brought over the pro they wanted to sell it for 1299. Amazon sold it for exclusive introductory price of $999. Didn't sell shit. So they lowered the price to the new $798. Still isn't selling shit. So yeh. I think they are scamming you. If you haven't realize
i own both so i know the difference. there isn't any noticeable difference. the removable stalk doesn't constitute the price increase. if you have the pro version check your battery. it says 5700 but you can only charge it to 4800. it is restricted so where is the 31% bigger battery?
+MEtv Product Reviews 310WH is 31% bigger than 236WH. if you think the mah number on the pro is fishy, then the same goes to the xiaomi. And if they can bring over and sell for $350 while still profitable, why the lowest price on eBay/aliwxpress/all Chinese geek buying sites are above $600 for just the xiaomi version with no USA warranty?
that is being shipped over air. lol... you think they brought the pro over by air? guess you don't have the pro and you can't tell they are limiting the battery. i can give a crap about the price, i have four of them. just a shame ninebot went the greedy route and brought over the pro instead of both so more people can enjoy these devices.
If he was caught making this kind of video in China where all companies are owned by the government, they would probably chop his nuts off and then send him and his every living relative to a prison labor camp in North Korea for 3 or 4 generations.
just got two segway minipros on amazon prime sale for ~$200 each, one black, one white. Love riding the things, i've had them 3 days and already have 20 miles on one. Great little device.
Reality is that the Xiaomi Ninebot mini @ $500 in USA, the $350 price tag maybe only if you buy it from China. While the US version Segway Minipro nowadays you can finds at local store (Sam Club, etc..) or Amazon for $499 plus tax. There is no 3X Price and there is no secret. They are basically same company.
Дело не только в колпаках. У меня есть и мини и мини про. На мини я проезжаю на полном заряде около 20км а на про около 35км. Максимальная скорость тоже отличается. Ну и ресурс батарей тоже разный. Так что как-то так!!!
Informative video, & more informative comments below. Two Concerns: Can you bring it on a US based domestic plane & also overseas? Based on comments below for $599.00 at Sam's Club it seems that's the prudent purchase offering some sort of warranty, service centers & return policy. Nice job on video, needs a few more questions answered for me, keep up the good work!
thank u bro!! u did a great job! i live in israel, so the importer here brought the chinise upgraded version with chinise ticket and sells it for 1k $.
I've had the Ninebot Mini (not Pro) for 5 / 6 months and have hundreds of miles going through the neighborhood, park, dirt trails, over grass. All that is not a big deal, except for the fact I weigh 250 lbs. which is way over its weight limit. Thank you! Been dying to find out if the mini could support 220+ lbs... i suspected the mini and pro had the same chassis, so didnt know why they wouldnt hold the same weights. I think it's just marketing.
I’ve owned one for over 2 years of over 1000 miles. And it works fine lol
Yes it will take much more then specs says for one reason: commodity item have to factor in confidence levels, in scuba diving for exe. Back on topic, If you pack some weight,
DO NOT EVER TAKE OFF TOO ABRUTLY SPECIALLY WHEN BATTERY IS DOWN LIKE 15%, I paid the price so I can tell you now, I am only 165lbs and I left a little meat on the ground in France, my beef is, it turned off and locked the wheels, I was propelled forward onto asphalt, not very pleasant when in vacation
Anything you want to know about Segway just contact me StClaireUSA@gmail.com
I upgraded from the mini to the mini pro. I get WAY more battery life from my mini pro than the mini. I'm also 250+
What I found worth the extra money was the pro seems to handle more uneven terrain and steeper inclines than the mini.
I got my MiniPros from walmart when they were 299. got 5 of them
So I have both, here is the Segway Secret.
The 350 watt motors seem to be more nimble,
although it might be the knee control system that is found on the Segway model, seems bulky and unnecessary expect for the pullout hand control.
Mystery Solved!

miniPRO whisperer...
Ninebot owns Segway
The batteries are interchangeable.
Just the Chargers are from the power capacity and size different.
You just need to call them and ask why you paid for 5700mah battery but it only charges to 4800mah. It is supposed to get 19miles per charge.
Just go to the facebook site segwaypro, there is a post there under the amazon prime day post, a few of us all got the refund back. great customer service!
yes, just buy the upgrade kit which costs around 50 RMB or 8 $
Manatchai Puangsri what's in the kit?
Performance wise is equally indifferent, but I noticed the pro does not beep quite as much or tilt as much, I can't believe the 400 w motor is that different from 350 w...
guessing the the 400w motor has higher torque as it has the lower voltage battery, so higher amps. i've not felt much difference in my speed test either.
THAT KICK BACK IS A RIGHT ROYAL PAIN ,IT CAUSES STRESS AND ALWAY CAUSES ME TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BLOODY RD WHEN CROSSING ,ITS AWFUL
NEVER HAPPENS ON MY XIAOMI MINI ,ALWAYS HAPPENS ON MY NINEBOT MINI ,AND MY NINEBOT MINI PRO AND I REALLY HATE IT ,
Mini pro is currently $499. on Amazon as of this date.
what's the difference is only that.from the ninebot application is there no difference?
I wonder if the batteries interchangeable have you tried that?
+Kris Wyrick there are stickers that say warranty is void if battery removed. But from the look of it looks totally interchangeable.
Thanks a lot...I will go for ninebot mini. But the seller push so hard to sell the pro which 40% more expensive.
My Nine bot mini is beeping and adjusting a lot, any advice on what to do
there are sensors under your rubber pads. you must not be engaging them or they might be faulty.
unless you are referring to the speed limit beeping. if you are hitting over 10.x mph, then the mini or the minipro will beep at you and throttle you back. it is a safety feature.
+MEtv Product Reviews Thank you, Then where should I stand
+MEtv Product Reviews and I am only going 4 mph
how heavy are you? i'm guessing you are a little under weight, meaning less than 90lbs? I've noticed this behavior for the mini if the rider is under 90lbs and not all riders but some will get that annoying beeping and the adjustments. try adjusting your feet to be perfectly in the middle of the pads.
+MEtv Product Reviews about 90lbs
5700mah compared to 4100mah is huge difference that 1600mah do you know how many trees you can cut with that power, I also believe that you can climb Mount Everest for less.
Motors/engines are 350w in one and 400w in other. I think it will make any difference
Question My Friend Do You Know Ninebot Mini Pro By Segway Is Coming Out With A Robot Handle . A Robot Type Handle That Allows The Ninebot To Follow You Around. Give A Review If You Can.
Maybe the motor inside is stronger?
The MiniPro Segway is now $588 on Amazon as of Mat 8, 2017.... What;s the link to get the Ninebot?, and is it still $350 and will they ship to the USA?
Dear Arnold,
I have seen in Aliexpress Spain (bought in China, sent from China of course) for 450 €. It´s a good option.
Others sellers in Spain is about 700 €. Amazing
Are they doing the same speed?
I've got the cheaper one, use it daily and now have about 70 miles on it and it's doing great !
i HAVE 398 MILES ON MY MINI AND IT IS 2 YEARS OLD AND IT IS AS STRONG AS EVER AND IT IS PERFECT -APART FROM HAVING TO REPLACE BOTH THE TIRES TWICE COS OF PUNCTURES
AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE VALVES TOO
I CHARGE IT -AND RIDE IT 2 OR 3 TIMES A DAY BUT I NEVER RIDE IT BELOW 2 BARS ,B4 CHARGING IT
I HAVE A PRO TOO ,ITS NOT ANY BETTER THAN THE MINI ,IN FACT I DONT RATE IT ,UNLESS YOU PUT HYBRID TYRES ON IT LIKE I HAVE ,BUT FRANKLY THE MINI IS AWESOME
Not only the stick is different, batteries and motors are also more powerful. Maybe it doesn't worth but engines and batteries are different (bigger and more powerful)
I think it's all about the brand name that dictates the price.
The knees bar is the same of mini lite too?
Ninebot says payload of 187LBS Segway is 220LBS wonder why theirs a difference? Can't buy either I'm 230LBS hope the make a big boy model soon.
+Jello Glue it works for over the limit. I've had friends that are heavier and carrying kids on it. So well over the limit.
Amazon is selling the Segway version for $599 seems like a good price ninebot is less from were?
What about the charging port? Ninebot has 3 pins while pro has 4 pins
When does mine stop beeping when I go fast..?? Are you trying not to wake the baby..?
hi. have u test out the small battery upgrade into larger battery for 9bm? larger battery and longer distance milage lot more important than you showing other stuff.
think there is a bug of some sort, both my segway minipro only charge to 4800mah, not 5700mah.
also, there are stickers, if you remove the battery warranty is void. the minipro charger doesn't work with the mini, not sure if the otherway works.
I got a mini the problem with this is the price of the parts to upgrade the minipro stick is 90$ and the side plates 60 wayyy to expensive for me i just painted 3 red stripes and 1 grey fixed
This thing is 10x better if you order the handlebars for it you can get it off there site. I have a video using the handlebars once I added them never went back to the knee staring, works like a charm :)
They cost an extra 185$ but be sure to get the one with the kick stand.
Might somebody tell me what the N3M320 is? The box doesn't say miniPRO...
Now the miniPro is $599.00 and the mini is $569.00, so do you still recommend the mini or the miniPro?
+showmak obviously if you can't get it for 350, only difference is 30 bucks, get the pro. My argument is that Ninebot wanted money and instead of bringing over both so people have a choice, the brought over a slightly upgraded version and tried to sell it for 3x the amount. They are still making a killing on $599.
I can’t find a 350.00 for sale. Do you have a link? Thanks
Is it possible to upgrade the mini pro motors to the same ones as the mini plus?
Also isnt the china one all plastic? Or also magnesium? And trust me im with you how lovely would it be even if they sold it here in the usa for 500 bucks. But since they acquired segway they have to make back their investment . Plus they acquired segway for long term revenue , im sure they knew with that name they could charge allot more than for the ninebot name.
Looks the same to me.
Me sitting here having got one for $399 on Amazon thinking “what?” 🤔
The link to buy the Segway from China is broken.
Price has come down a lot on amazon. No longer necessary to buy the mini from China.
Where did you buy the ninebot?
The Mini's max load is 85kg, whereas the Mini Pro is 100kg. Heavier people have to pay more. Also, the Mini Pro is certified safe by Underwriter Labs, while it is illegal to ship the Mini into the US. The Mini was meant to be for the China market only. If you do import a Mini into the US, it is technically illegal and unsafe.
i found no such limit in weight in real life. it is on paper. UL listing could have been done for both and both imported to the USA. their parts are identical.
Both aren't identical,so stop lying. UL is very important in the USA,so is warranty .
How much are you making $ by pushing the cheaper version.
can you do me a huge favor. can you attempt to remove the center
column on your mini? I need to ship my mini to my sister, but after
removing the two screws at the base, the center column still will not
come off!!!

Nine bot bought Segway a little over a year ago. It like infinity vs Nissan.
THanks so much for so many people. You are our 'hero'. Keep it up !
The Segway is UL approved. Not sure about the ninebot. So the Segway may be better from an electrical and safety standpoint.
Got the very last minilite from a Frys Electronics in SanDiego shipped to Phoenix Az. For $179.00...🇺🇸
Rad!
Has anybody here tried to get around Manhattan on a minipro? Videos I'm seeing are usually cul de sacs or bike lanes.
I'm in DC and my commute to work is 4 miles. I've done the trip a couple of times. I think that I'm going to upgrade to the hybrid tires, because these city streets AND sidewalks are F'd up.
@@SW4Life202 Thanks about that.
Where exactly can i buy the cheaper one?
It is aircraft aluminum and is UL certified
Are the knee pads interchangeable?
The Segway can support higher weight (up to 220 lbs) with that battery and motor, while the Ninebot supports up to 187 lbs, apparently
They both support up to 220lbs.
Xiaomi owns Segway
I think not.. they are both made by the same company sure their slight differences but never were three times the amount
how to improve its speed as it only allow you to drive up to 10km per hour?
PUT ON HYBRED TYRES WILL MAKE IT GO A MILE OR TWO FASTER ,BUT I DONT MINE THE SPEED ITS THE BLASTED KICK BACK ITS DANGEROUS AS IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN IM CROSSING THE DAM ROAD AND CAUSES ME TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RD ..
Bro I think you need sleep.
Voila!!! Ty!!! Hold it upright. Don't lay it on floor. and forcefully. wiggle it front back and side to side. it finally came off!!!
yep! i worked on it with screwdriver, deleted scene for 5 minutes until i figured i give that a try. I remember if you don't tighten the screws enough on the pro, it was loose. you can see it in one of the videos where i had to tighten the screws hidden behind the rubber nub. the pro came from the factory with the quick release attached and not well. lots of complaints about it coming loose.
Does the Segway app work with the Ninebot mini?
triplex404 yes. It isn't called the Segway app, it is called the ninebot app.
does it work with the the apple app store version? like if you click the first one that shows up as ninebot&segway will it work with this one? please let me know because this will decide for me if i buy the ninebot mini instead of the us version. please let me know as of writing this it is 11-16-16 thanks!
I bought here in Portugal on a clearence sale for 180€ each 😬
What model was it? Where do you buy it?
Sorry bought all of them (around 30) in 2018. It was the segway mini pro. Here they sell for 600€
where is the usa dealer that we can get the mini for $550?
hoverboardexpress.us/products/ninebot-mini?variant=24467135878
You said $350 in the video, wheres that link and is it free shipping and warranty?
+Jason Smith (jkblaq) well if you are not US centric and think the world revolves around the US, then you can get the 9bot mini in China for $310. I'm sure 9bot can bring over the mini for $350 and still make lots of money. It cost them less than $100 to mass produced.
Yeah, cool, link.
Just search for "Fake Chinese Food"
You POS sent over lead tainted toys for children and killed our Dogs with your FN Dog food.I could go on and on the shit that China sells to the world.
Only had the original Segway for 2 weeks.
yeh, but hassle to return. also you need reason to return. if they figure out you are lying about issue for returning, then you will be blacklisted.
I was just honest. I said that I found a better price. It is listed as a valid reason. I just dropped it off at a local locker room service station. Didnt pay anything.
hope you didn't list better price was amazon. lol. it is just a hassle to return a heavy box. segway customer service was really good about refunding the difference.
amigos estoy por comprarme uno cual me recomiendan..¿? ya que no especifica la diferencia del uno y el otro desearia que me ayuden gracias
This was a great review! Thank you to do it!!!
I think the cheaper one is nicer and better but its 589 on amazon
Best Buy sells the nine but Segway mini light for $329. It's UL listed and aircraft grade aluminum. It is lower capacity battery but still does 10 mph and has an 11 mile range. The payload is only 178 pounds but it's a good deal for the price
i got a nine bot mini and it is not compatable with any of my tablets or phones ,and it has this awful dam speed limit which is ruining my life right now .any one help me please
nine bot customer service stinks
i don't have any issue with iphone.
You may of bought a replica Ninebot Mini? Do you have the website that you purchased from?
Ninebot now owns Segway.
yes, they are trying to sell the unit under a more recognized name, segway and charge a premium. the difference in price is not that big anymore.
Mine is RM 1399 (divide it by 4 to us dollar)
I bought the bigger battery one for 600 dollars, but I see what you mean
Yep
you can get the mini pro at sams club for $399 right now. debating if I should get one. the tag in the store says original price was $799. sounds like 50% off
Sams just checked 529.00
Maybe they put some of the Segway tech to use but they already had self balancing bigger vehicles that compete directly with segways.
ruclips.net/video/31ple3pEhMc/видео.html - video dated 2014. way before the acquisition of segway. they were competitors.
Ninebot is a Chinese company that bought Segway.
Thats true in 2015........earlier, Segway was sold in 2009 to British millionaire entrepreneur James Heselden, who died a year later when he accidentally rode one off a cliff. The company was bought by Summit Strategic Investments LCC in 2013.
Or was he murdered ? 😆
Thank
Why are you whispering are you in a library
thanks
The mini pro is $450
Are these street legal
No
Why you keep emphasizing "3X the price" but the reality is that the lowest any American can get for the Xiaomi is $600 and the Segway is $799? that's just a third more! And for 1/3 more, you get:
1) 31% bigger bettery.
2) 14% more powerful motor.
3) 220 lb payload.
4) UL fire safety sticker ( this might be the ticket to board certain transportations in the future)
5) removable/adjustable paddle for at least easier trunk storage.
+MEtv Product Reviews I own a 9bot, and I stand on my previous statement.
i own both so i know the difference. there isn't any noticeable difference. the removable stalk doesn't constitute the price increase. if you have the pro version check your battery. it says 5700 but you can only charge it to 4800. it is restricted so where is the 31% bigger battery?
Why are you whispering?
If he was caught making this kind of video in China where all companies are owned by the government, they would probably chop his nuts off and then send him and his every living relative to a prison labor camp in North Korea for 3 or 4 generations.
where do i get this for $350
+David Vu china. But with air shipping it cost about $500
Nice video. Aloha.
Errrmmm not sure if you guys know. Ninebot bought Segway...and Xiaomi bought Ninebot.....so........
I think you voided those warranties my dude...lol
Thanks for going to all this trouble in a great review! They'll likely be dropping the price point after catching first all the richer 'fish'.
I hope they drop the price and stop trying to keep this great product from the masses.
Good review.
is your baby sleeping?
Mahalo, great video.
Mini Pro is just too expensive. about $1200 in Singapore money.
just got two segway minipros on amazon prime sale for ~$200 each, one black, one white.
Brands Mart has them for $400 US as of 2019
real deal $599 at same wholesale
Yup true dat
Informative video, & more informative comments below. Two Concerns: Can you bring it on a US based domestic plane & also overseas? Based on comments below for $599.00 at Sam's Club it seems that's the prudent purchase offering some sort of warranty, service centers & return policy. Nice job on video, needs a few more questions answered for me, keep up the good work!
thank u bro!! u did a great job!
i live in israel, so the importer here brought the chinise upgraded version with chinise ticket and sells it for 1k $.
Cool
