As the thirteenth release in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection, this numbered, limited seven-disc (5CD/2DVD) Deluxe Edition Box Set is comprised of the original album remastered at Abbey Road Studios, 32 bonus audio tracks including unheard home recordings and demos, alternative studio recordings, rough mixes and B-sides including selections from Oobu Joobu parts 1-6, Flaming Pie At The Mill CD (Paul’s hour-long tour of his studio), video content including the In The World Tonight documentary, original music videos, EPKs, interviews, performances and behind-the-scenes material, a 128-page book containing previously unpublished images by Linda McCartney, expanded album artwork from the archives and the story behind the album written by Chris Heath - including track-by-track information, recipes and new interviews with Paul, Ringo Starr, Jeff Lynne, Steve Miller and key album personnel, studio notes, handwritten lyrics, the 1997 Flaming Pie issue of Club Sandwich, the official newspaper of the Paul McCartney Fanclub, downloadable 24bit 96kHz HD audio, and more.

Thanks for presenting the content in the Deluxe Edition, I will buy that one, not the limited super box. A bit to expensive. I received the "McCartney" box two days ago. Ordered from Japan and it took 3 months to get, but OK price, 140 Euro.
Nice video Andrew - regarding the 3 LP set, from what I understand, it’s not a box like the Beatles Abbey rd - it’s an outer slip cover apparently!
Also, the extra LP doesn’t have as many tracks as the the cd version does from what I can see!
I’ve gone for the 2 CD / 2 LP!!

Now that Flaming Pie is official, I wonder what's next in the painfully slow Archive release. Personally I can imagine (or fantasize about) a box that includes Choba, Unplugged and Run Devil Run. The theme being three albums within 11 years that focused primarily on songs from the 1950s to early 1960s. Further wishing he would include all the other covers he has done from that era, (Now or Never, Maybe Baby, It's So Easy), the other songs recorded for Unplugged (Mean Woman Blues, The Fool, Matchbox), songs he recorded for Choba but left off the album (Cut Across Shorty, Poor Boy, Take This Hammer, Lend Me Your Comb), and the songs recorded for Devil but left off (Searchin’, Thumbin’ A Ride, We’re Gonna Move and Fools Like Me).
That sounds like a great box, I want it!
I'm excited for this and can't wait. One small disappointment is that I was hoping the big set would have "clean" versions of the songs embedded in the Oobu Joobu b-sides, in other words without his talking or other music intruding on the beginnings and ends of the songs. Namely, I Love This House, Atlantic Ocean, Squid, Don't Break the Promise, Beautiful Night (1986 version), and Love Mix. I'm also a little disappointed that Oobu Joobu Ecology isn't included here, as it was in 1997 at Best Buy stores in the USA. This next part isn't related to Flaming Pie, but I also wish that someday he will do a separate release of the many rare soundchecks, outtakes and rehearsals that can only be found in the Oobu radio show.
It gives me hope that those other songs will be coming at some point in some other kind of package!
I looked it up and also realized we're not getting some songs he recorded in that time period but never released: "When Winter Comes" - recorded the same time as "Great Day". "(Sweet Home) Country Girl" and "Soul Boy", both with Steve Miller. "Cello in the Ruins" with Jeff Lynne. "Stella Day May" - recorded for his daughter. Plus two more untitled songs with Ringo and/or Steve Miller. He also did two charity single Beatles remakes around that time - Drive My Car (1994) and Come Together (1995), and his duet with Carl Perkins "My Old Friend". But perhaps those three are unavailable for legal rights issues.

Exciting news. Just ordered the collectors edition a lot of money but think it’s worth it seeing the content and it being one of his best albums. Think this will be an expensive year what with Let it Be and possibly Plastic Ono Band coming out later in the year!
Thanks for telling me what is what on all of this . There is so many different pressings on this . But good to know . You know I just cant see paying for the big set and it is a lot of $$$ lol . So I do think I am just going to get the 3 vinyl set . Thank you for talking about it all a lot to take in cheers .

On paulmccartney.com/downloads, you can download the 1986 Beautiful Night Demo and Somedays [No Orchestra]for free! Both are not available in the box sets!!! :)
Hi Andrew, what an exciting announcement!, I’ve just pre ordered the deluxe box...the 3LP version and the 2CD version(just because I’ve got the 2CD versions of all the others!).
I did look at the collectors edition but at £520!! I think it’s a little bit out of my price range!
I was really excited for this, didnt expect it to be cheap. But £250 is taking the mickey.
The lucky ones are those that got in on the Amazon link that went up in January and secured it for under £150!

Triple vinyl and double CD for me Andrew, not very keen on those deluxe boxes, just full of filler bits n Bob's, rather hav the music. Great description 👌👌

The prices are ridiculous for the deluxe edition and the uber boxset with everything. i personally this its Paul best solo album outside of ram, band on the run, McCartney 1 and 2, but make it more affordable for fans Paul don't you have enough money!

Hi Andrew I've preordered the deluxe edition plus the 3 lp edition and 2 cd edition amazon. Pauls site has the super deluxe looks amazing but 520 pounds crazy price but free shipping lol. Let me know what you think cheers Joe
I think you've ordered some great stuff there! Same as me (except for the 2CD edition, I don't need that also). I've managed to get the 5CD box and the 3LP for a total of under £200, I can't justify an extra £300 for not much more product

Andrew I've been going over my Archive Collection and know which ones I have yet to purchase. What puzzles me is I really believed I purchased the "Pipes of Peace" Archive but must have misplaced it. If I have to replace it what is the top of the line in this collection? I only see on Amazon 2cd/1dvd. Was that the deluxe top of the line? thanks in advance!!! Bruce

Of course cannot pay 2K for this "Big Box" version so I'll have to get this 2 individually. I see Wild life for around 117.00 dollars and Red Rose for around 162.00 I'll have to work on getting those two first, then "Flaming Pie" should not be too difficult since it came out just last summer. Are the b sides remastered or is it same as released in 1997?
I'm not sure that we will know that info until the boxes come out and we can see the credits.
They will be different though, the OobuJoobu episodes are edited as the track times are shorter, though it may turn out to be just removing the theme tune from start and end so they don't have to be listened to 6 times!
