Playing on Snow in the New Porsche Panamera

- With snow falling in the Alps, it's definitely a good time to head out in the RaceChip Panamera 4S Diesel and explore the mountain roads! Fitted with Sottozero winter tyres, and an all wheel drive system, perhaps it took me by surprise quite how much grip the Panamera had in the conditions.
I know it's nothing crazy, but this is on public roads and it's not my car so not taking risks was high on the agenda.

After my trip to South Africa, we are back in Méribel, France with the Racechip Panamera 4S Diesel having some fun in the snow. This was one of the last days with the Porsche before heading back to London and a series of new events on the agenda.

Coward? More like I respect that the car is not mine and brand new. I just do not do these kind of things with someone's car which was just ready before the trip.
However, I have to do the same with my cars. If only the plans I had with the Focus RS weren't cancelled last minute a few weeks ago, I would have used that one.
Anyhow, you can still watch me burning some rubber on my R8 and GT4. The videos are in the history. :)

Good job on the snow, Tim! It was a wise desicion to not slide around more than that on public places. Best rule in public to avoid damage when driving on snow and ice: No breaking and turning at the same time unless you wish to go straight from the point of losing front grip rather than keeping on turning.

They should make a seperate bluetooth remote to change the driving mode. If you forget your phone, or it's dead, you can't change the settings. Kinds like a remote to change a exhaust valve.
Put it on your own phone and keep it charged, problem solved :)

How do you manage to walk around with balls that large! Took my Golf R out last week in the snow and it was like a pig on stilts! That Porsche must have an impressive 4x4 and TC system to not throw you all over the place under acceleration, well done Tim :)

I guess you don't have metal studs in the wheels.. In Finland we prefer using them but ofc they are not so good for environment, they make a lot of dust especially in the spring

I would have been interested to know the temperament of the Panamera on the snow in in full "Kill mode". Does the extra power make a twitchy bastard that stability needs to step in constantly to keep it in line? Or is the car just as docile as when it's in efficiency mode? That sort of stuff.
That said, it was still very interesting to see how the car performed in the snow. It did very, very well. Just as well as I anticipated, honestly.

Why would there be any issues with an AWD vehicle with winter tires? I just bought a new ‘22 Panamera, and expect it to be flawless with the right setup.
