indeed, i was waiting for the part (particularly after he heals the dude) when mackenzie would hide a revolver and hold mathis up at gunpoint.... lets be honest he aint the type to kill someone. too many morals and hes Canadian so...
Mackenzie had everything confiscated after he was brought in to be killed by Mathis, not to mention the convicts also had guns and severely outnumbered him. He also isn’t very versed in hand-to-hand combat (as can be seen in wolf struggles, where he’s panickedly flailing random tools at them) which also explains why he couldn’t have just destroyed Mathis in the final encounter.
While I do love this game, Mackenzie and Jace's meeting is just weird; why were they both so calm and took their sweet time leaving? If I were in that situation, I would quickly introduce myself and then I'd run for the hills! The convicts know the Boiler Room and Steam Tunnels lead to the Power Plant, so you need to get away from there ASAP!
I like the story a lot so far, very intriguing (though I’m curious to see how they’ll conclude everything with one more chapter) However what bugs me the most are the quests that reward you with some sick end game loot but these last three chapters won’t even let you keep them when you finish. I was actually glad that I skipped over the supply cache missions because they proved to be pointless.
@@pandertv2235 I know that. I’m talking about how items don’t carry over from the last chapter anymore. Also you cannot go back to your items once your trigger the last mission for this chapter.
@@milehigh96 There's a way you can still keep them. Before returning to Mathis with the detonators, leave everything you want to keep inside the stairs that lead to the steam tunnels. After triggering the whole sequence where you have to escape the convicts that shoot you from the towers, when you reach the steam tunnels, all your things will still be there. It's kinda pointless though wanting to carry everything because you need to move fast in there, and when you exit the steam tunnels, you'll pretty much finish the chapter anyways. The best you could do is leave a lantern or flares in there that makes that last section a bit easier, and your clothes since the convicts strip you of your good clothes.
just have to wait 6 years for episode 5 now. like wth happened to astrid? last we saw of her she exited that mine and saw dead whales etc.. then she is randomly on some boat
There’s another scene at the end of episode 4 where it shows Astrid has found the place she was trying to go but she doesn’t have the briefcase and the briefcase has medicine in it

If you're having issues getting the Jace cutscene., I suggest you go back to the checkpoint before you get inside the boiler room. Redoing that part of the game, should let you get the cutscene. If you didn't the first time is probably because you didn't get the scene where Mackenzie puts the chair on the door.
It was fun until this ending sequence, which just felt cheap and unfair. The path is incredibly unclear and you just have to lose through it until you find the right way to go. Immersion was shattered and I left off feeling pissed instead of invested in the game. Lucky for me it'll be another 3 years before the final episode gets released so I'll have time to forget about this gross irritation.
Add to that the episode bugged on me and Mack didn't use a chair to block the door of the boiler room. So I lost about 7 times in a row trying to be perfectly fast before restarting from a save before the ending and finding Mack is supposed to automatically block the door with the chair and then you have all time in the world... F U Hinterland.

wintermute , with all its episodes are 'amazingly' showing us the real world - just look at the dialog from all the different episodes ..." end of the old world", " The world is changing" - look at the narrative of the entire story , power is intermittent , dead people everywhere , we hear of some 'outbreak' that astrid is trying to get to , with a strange case containing something very important ....... end of episode 4 tells us astrids case contains a cure for something 'infectious'........ people now wearing face masks, afraid of being infected !!!........ just look at the time it took for episode 4 to come out - they were not waiting to fininsh the episode , they were waiting for the unfolding global plan to catch up .......... cant wait for episode 5 - it will reveal the global financial system collapsing - global starvation - unvaxed people being rounded up and the formation of the new world order as the only way to save everything......... but thats just a wild guess like !!!!
