- Guy Caballero demotes Johnny LaRue, gives Bob and Doug his dressing room, then takes away Bobby Bittman's special... Sorry I didn't get the whole thing...I do not own the rights, nor am I making money off this in any way. It's just classic and wanted to share it.
Johnny LaRue. One of the great characters in TV History. He's like Eric Cartman grown up.
I actually have Bob and Doug "lack of" action figures. Details like squares, packs of smokes, bottle caps(!), Coleman camp stove AND back bacon...And they call you a hoser, and tell you to take off.
Canada's Dynamic Duo. 😁
That's hilarious!!😂
J La R - "Uuuuuuuuuuu nooooo!" That little kid whine. Classic. I always loved the constant "low budget" running gag of SCTV. Genius.
That is indeed the genius of it all
I wish this show was still aired on TV, I loved it.
What, you'd want it to end up like SNL -- stale or spoiled WAY past the fresh date?!?
Look at what SNL has become and the long years when it wasn't very good. It's an institution and it's also very much subject to the whims and politics of whoever is controlling the network at the time.
I think SCTV and Kids in the Hall avoided that fate by ending when they did. They ended before they became TOO stale and everybody was worn out. SNL has arguably gone on TOO LONG...

Are you not watching it?
You can buy a complete box set for $40-70 new, but most is online, and over half on RUclips. 👍👍
Wow I never knew how a major television studio operated. Always admired Mr. Caballero for his shrewd business sense.😉🤩
R.I.P. John Candy (1950-1994)
And now Joe Flaherty
Caballero's line about "why did I only give them a two-minute time slot?" is a winking nod to the genesis of the Bob and Doug characters.
Ironic that they made it the most stereotypical thing to spite cbc and it took off.Canadian content? The whole damn thing is Canadian content!
@@hankkingsley2976 You can't make that up. Two minutes of improvised 'Canadian' content and those hosers became larger than life!
@@jamesallen5591 It resonated with me as a teen in BFE SEGA.
Bob is on my arm because I loved Rick Moranis in his role as Bob McKenzie was going to get both but I didn't want another back tattoo hell I have 5 VHS tapes of Strange Brew and both a DVD and Bluray
@@jamesallen5591I would spend hours drinking Canadian beer watching SCTV sketches involving Bob and Doug McKenzie my first experience with them was a 90's re-release of strange brew got the comedy album 3 years ago 5 vhs copies of strange brew 3 80's releases 2 90's re-releases a bluray copy and a DVD copy my first 80's copy was a Canadian rental store copy this ain't even bringing up the shirts and hats
Bob and Doug McKenzie are the first guys I think of when I think Canadian comedy then Red Green Show then Tripping the Rift then Trailer Park Boys then Fugget About It in that order
I love the overhead shot in Bob and Doug’s dressing room.
Words cannot describe how much I miss the SCTV family...
Yes, I didn't realize at the time how fortunate we were.
@@btventura9570 Just 10 years prior Monty Python mesmerized us. About 5 years after SCTV came Kids in The Hall. It was a golden era for television comedy.
SCTV alone, for me at least, had a strong feeling of being a family, and it made the show more endearing.
@@redgodofwar7723 I agree. SNL too... In my opinion, the 70s were awesome all across the spectrum-comedy, women, sports, music, movies, cars, motorcycles...
Guy Caballero was my spirit animal. Outright evil comedy genius. I swear he had to be the inspiration for Cartman.
How do the other actors keep a straight face when they are in a scene with John Candy? He just cracks me up, especially when he starts crying. 😆
The detail to the perfection is the absolute imperfections...so good so dam good
I like how they have more beer in the closet than a liquor store
You may have noticed they're all empties.
Look like my room one year in college
I love when Johnny LaRue (John Candy) starts "blubbering" (7:06) when Guy Caballero cancels his show to make room for the MacKenzie brothers show--comic genius
Hilarious!!!! John Candy and these people were brilliant!!
david graham yes, brilliant.
david graham he's laughing and crying at the same time, so funny
Love the subtle placement of the 'Al Pecks' used car bikini calendar in their closet/dressing room, never caught that in the original airings! Lol
Bob and Doug have always been my favorite on SCTV
Reminds me of Bob and Doug Mackenzie Great White North Album. I sure do miss these old skits. Really reminds me how many years I've been here.
Coincidentally, I've got part of a skit SCTV did called "Tibor's Tractor. It's called "SCTV- Caesar CCCP 1_Pt. 2" in my uploads... kinda funny! Just thought you'd be interested...
@@btventura9570 That's hilarious! I'd enjoy that :D
@@TiborRoussou It's in the list of videos I've posted - "SCTV- Caesar CCCP 1 Pt. 2." That's cool.
@@btventura9570 Thanks, I'll check them out :)
Anything with John Candy in it is good.
Miss that great Canadian !
Even John Candy sobbing incessantly is funny!
Sketch comedy has always been the best comedy and the SCTV crew were the best practitioners of the genre. It's a bloody shame sketch comedy has virtually disappeared from the scene.
Aykroyd, Candy, Radner,Moranis,Thomas,Short ,Levy,O'hara ,Hartman,Myers,Carrey, Rogan,Reynolds, Canada's varsity team of comedy ❤
Johnny LaRue and William B.Williams were basically the same character.
Now this idea for "HOSER WEEKEND" would rule.......! All the Hoser's from everywhere, get to go somewhere nice, and hang out have the smokes, back bacon, & get HOSED....!!
"25 dollars is not a lot of money".... Ha Ha Ha!!!
"you could easily get 100,000 hosers together for this hoser beer drinking thing" - Rick Moranis is awesome...
I am all in on Hoser weekend!
@Allan Ros It's anyone or anything that can mess up your day, eh' ....
Tony Bennett...Morgan Fairchild...Joyce deWitt...and all union dancers! This Thursday at 9 on SCTV
I died when he got out of the wheelchair!
Walls, great topic.
I really miss John Candy!! 😞🥺
7:08 I can't help but laugh whenever Johnny LaRue cries. 7:21
As Johnny is leaving (and crying) Guy says I need you do something for me. I'll do anything Mr. LaRue, you just name it. Gimmie the keys to the Limo you won't be needing it anymore. (More endless sniveling and crying) LOL
What did we do to deserve this?
I don't know, but don't tell anybody cause they might take it away, eh?
Best part LoL
they missed an opportunity to create a Jacques Tati homage here with all that geometry in such a small space! i might do a remake!
love the part where Bob & Doug, in pig disguises, came so close to tricking Guy into supplying them with free beer and back bacon
I believe the pig-nosed guys are totally different characters from Bob and Doug.
Guy C & the wheel chair
I still have the Bob and Doug album. And on vinyl, eh?
I'm Jelly. Had it on cassette.
Like, have you ever made yourself a coffee ☕ sandwich 🥪 to stay awake at night? 🤮
Like, 10 bucks is 10 bucks, eh? (Geddy Lee)
This is hilarious! I was born in 1995, well after SCTV left the air for the last time, but Bob and Doug McKenzie will always be two of the best sketch comedy characters on any show. Also, could you please share more sketches from season 6? That would be great.
I was born in 1966, and during the age of VHS tape players, would record some SCTV sketches when I could. I've posted all I have except the ones someone else posted already. Classic stuff!
@@btventura9570 what channel is your sctv stuff on?
@@AMEER-114- These are just clips I recorded on VHS tape back in the 80's and 90's that I didn't see on YOU TUBE already. I don't know if SCTV is re-run anymore...
@@btventura9570 does that respond to my question?
@@AMEER-114- I thought it did.
I don't think they have enough beer for a show
Hoser Humor… the best, ay!
I had forgotten all about Johnny LaRue...how could I have done that!?
Great show for Metv
I would love to be at this show all the free beer and back bacon got any bread and toasters
4 pounds of backbacon...three french toasts ...two turtlenecks.. and a beeeer in a tree....... next year get me a chainsaw... take off....
Fiiiiiiiiive Golden Toques
Best skit show ever. Ever.
Thank you for sharing it, eh?
Thank you, Mr. Callaberro!!
Good day, eh?
Rick Moranis (? Spelling?) better be in the new Ghostbusters movie, or I will cry. I miss him!
He's not but he will be in the new Honey I shrunk the kids movie.
He had to become a single dad after his wife died of breast cancer. It took away his desire to act for a long time.
My heroes.
Guy just plays along, he has no clue that Bob and Doug are a hit.
I love it!
The later stuff on NBC was nothing in comparison to the early days.
Oh geez...im old,...take off.
RIP Joe Flaherty.
Pure. Fucking. Gold
Genius
Beauty!
Love it
Custom work sock coozie coolers
It's actually Bob and Doug explaining how they're going to screw over Bob and Doug. Ha!
I think they like beer 🍺
Canadian Cheech and Chong
Btw Tommy Chong was Canadian also
You want me to produce or direct it?
No. It’s replacing your show
My right ear would’ve enjoyed this too
Great episode but too bad it left out some hilarious scenes. There's Johnny LaRue wailing when he sees his new dressing room and the best bit when he and Bittman are lamenting their treatment over many, many drinks. Thanks for the upload anyway.
By the way, you wouldn't happen to have the one where Andrea Martin as Tawny Beaver (pronounce bee-vay) where she runs (and loses) for office against some good-looking airhead and takes over his victory speech with a Kennedy-esque concession speech? That is an all-time classic.
Yes, wish I would have gotten it all!
I think thats been uploaded.. the election skit... it was libby wolfson running for election... beevay was a reporter following vic hedges
Can you download the rest of the episode? My favorite episode of all time
I copied it on VHS years ago, that's all of the episode I got, sorry!!
Know where to find Poltergeist swap? That was among my favorites they made and I can't find it anywhere!!! :(
Not sure, just keep checking youtube to see if anyone uploaded it... don't think I saw that one!
Export ale yummy
The noses are outrageous.
I'd be there
What happened to the audio?
Boy! Those two guys with the BIG noses, sure look, like FAMILIAR, Eh? 🤓😎✌🏼
So which one was Groucho?
All of them, eh?
Yeah, take off, eh.
Take off! This is the complete sketch, eh:

Better off Ted did this gag.
.....the first Trump voters.
Love these RUclips videos was a big Bob and Doug fan back in the day but I never knew what ICT V was going to be on it was usually on late night and they were always moving it around I haven't seen many of the original 2 minutes shorts. I had their album on cassette and of course I have the movie strange brew on DVD.
"What are you doing, taking out the garbage?"
that fiendish Guy Cabellero.
Irish, did you say?
