    This tutorial was the best I've ever ever seen for furries. In a few seconds you broke down the face in a way that made it make sense to me like no other tutorial ever has. I support my son by drawing his fursonas and I generally suck at it because I don't do well at abstracting in 3D's and since, as you say, there's no real life furries, it either comes out too animal or too human and I just don't get the muzzle to come out right. This makes it actually make sense to me! So I'm going to go practice. I took some screens of your head breakdowns and I'm going to practice with those in mind because they help me so much.
    I'm guessing you may have gone to art school? If not, you're very well self-taught. I see you using techniques I learned in art school and really making use of them. Seeing them applied to furry art will really help me figure out how to apply them myself. Thanks so much!

      Hey Shei; I'm self taught, though I study a lot. Maybe that has to to with the methods.
      I've been meaning to get back to making videos for a while, just never quite made the time for it, as my schedule's been pretty tough to manage this last year.
      But I do appreciate the compliments! I try to approach things from a point that makes sense to me, personally.
      But most of all, I just don't feel "qualified enough" to do these videos, as since 3-4 months later I'd find that I don't follow the techniques I teach anymore, and that puts me in a difficult predicament haha. I don't want to teach ways to work through a picture that have flaws in them, and that I don't use myself.
      Perhaps I will revisit the idea of doing these 101s when I feel I've gotten a better grasp on the technical side of this, since, just like you, I am still trying to formulate my own way of doing things.
      That being said, I am glad it's useful to you!

    I'm a total beginner, and I've been looking for a good tutorial on furry heads. That one is definitely the best one I've found so far. It's beginner friendly, and the different head angles help a lot. I might still suck at drawing, but after some practicing, I feel like I suck a little bit less. Thanks!

    Incredible tutorial. I pulled this up and used split screen on my phone as I followed along with my own different drawing. I was able to take a 3/4 angle ref of my character and accurately copy him into a front facing view after struggling to do it all week. Just watching you slowly do it helped so much because other artists do it so fast without explaining anything.

    This is 100% Underrated! SO glad I found you on my recommendation list! Honestly, as a humanoid anime artist its hard to find good tutorials on how to draw anthros since they either look like a feral with a human body or a human with a somewhat anthro body T^T. Thank you so much!

    • @spiritualkiddo
      @spiritualkiddo Год назад

      Fr! I couldnt find the right proportions to draw them. My "anthro" heads always looked like the feral or a human head 😭

    Glad you're back ! Liked the first tutorials you did and this one is a nice update! Looking forward to the rest of the updates and more video's in general!
    I do think 50+ min is a bit long. I needed to take a few breaks in between.

    • @CacuuArt
      @CacuuArt  5 лет назад +4

      I do agree; I tend to lose track of time haha. I had a lot to cover on that one though; I will try to keep the next videos shorter overall, somewhere around 25-30 minutes, just by talking about less things at once.
      Hop on the stream if you want; also. It will likely be the more active of the two.

    Just gotta say incredible video! Really good advice and I love your idea that you start with style 0 and then make your own style from that

  • @Gerolix

    Okay, so I rarely comment, but I just gotta say this is REALLY REALLY helpful. It's basically all you need to start out and it's very comprehensive! Usually most tutorials are missing something and I'd have to look up said missing part, but not with this one, I could start sketching right away and it turned out pretty decent, considering my current skill level. Good job!

    Thanks for the video! It was super helpful, way moreso than other tutorials ive looked at. Very in depth and good advice. Id recommend writing notes, if you dont already, about what you want to talk about before making a video, so you can see how long it might be based on that, and it might help you remember parts you missed or parts that are not neccessary at that moment. Mainly just to help with video length. Tbh though, most of it was really useful xP

    Hi, how do you flip it so easy? at 15:57
    Did you edit your video? I'm asking because I use PH too, but for horizontal flip I have to select area, than transform it and only after that I can flip it (plus deselect an area in the end).

    • @onkelchristopher8550
      @onkelchristopher8550 4 года назад

      Ok, I found it
      Select Image -> Image Rotation and select the flip canvas horizontal.

    • @CacuuArt
      @CacuuArt  4 года назад +2

      On newer photoshop versions, you can bind a viewport flip to a keybind. It's under View > Flip canvas horizontally. If you're using older versions, you can do a normal flip, where you will have to process flipping everything (and will be a lot more resource intensive) by going to image > image rotation > flip canvas horizontally. Outside of photoshop, you can probably find such functions as mirror (clip studio paint has it).
