I really hope they make more of these non-Jedi protagonists games. I'd love to see a bounty hunter focussed one, where you can choose different builds and have different weapons or ships, or maybe that is a smaller part of a bigger rig in a Skyrim style approach. You can join the empire as a spy, or fight for the rebellion Andorra style, or the cartels, etc.
@@100StarWars Outlaws feels more like 40€ (max 50€) to me. Comparable to Mafia: Definitive Edition (2020), which was published by 2K. You just have to compare Outlaws to something like GTA 5 (back when it was released for 60€) and you'll see that Outlaws just doesn't have the quality or quantity to charge 60€ (let alone 70€). Just because all AAA games cost 60-70€, it doesn't mean they're worth their full price.
By that logic, shorter AAA games without massive open worlds and hundreds of systems are not worth full price because they are not GTA? Not a thought process I can get behind.
The more I see about this game, the more I wonder if they built this from the original story treatment for what eventually became the original Splinter Cell. SC was actually the rework of the mechanics-side of a "'70s retro-futurism action game with stealth focus"; the plot and location was put aside to focus on the then-popular Stealth Action genre, which Metal Gear Solid had made massive.
Remember people Ubisoft doesn't deserve ur money! Single player microtransactions, "get used to not owning ur games" never allow that to happen, overpriced special edition, pay $30 for early access
I hate to tell you this brother but we haven’t owned our games since the ps2 era everything ps3 and up has so much downloaded content on it that’s not on the disc that once they shut down support for those consoles you’ll never be able to play them again

Many of them overlook or excuse serious flaws with the game. I'll wait for the reviews from people who bought it. So far it doesn't look to be worth the asking price considering the narrative, animation, character and gameplay issues. It's not just a lack of polish that would eventually be fixed with patches. There appear to be fundamental issues with the game. There are no doubt positive elements. Though also appears to be deep flaws. Yet there's no qualifier in the recommendation. This is the case with many reviews and it makes it seem like something is off.
My friend, no one was given special treatment or forced into saying things while reviewing the game. It's quite literally Illegal in this industry. People were given previews and invited to the pre-release events, just like every other game and every other movie you like.

Of course is not worth it! Play swtor is much better because as a smuggler i can score the hottest chicks in the galaxy before settling down with Lana "Gourgeous" Beniko. I can even flirt with Vitiate. 😂
I just want to be able to tie her hair back to keep it out her face. Long hair in real life doesn't behave that nicely, speaking as someone with long hair myself...
Im glad this game has lots of exploration. Games don't have to be ipen world to feel grand and lived in, (although this one being apen world definitely helps) but my biggest problem with Fallen Order and Survivor was just that it felt like I was constantly moving through decorated hallways as opposed to exploring a vast world like in KOTOR, which was pretty open. Can't wait to give outlaws a try and imerse myself in the Star Wars universe in a way.
I felt the same way in FO/Survivor. Amazing story telling but it felt like a such a linear experience. I can see how people thought it was open world but it really wasn’t. There wasn’t much reason to explore in that game unless you wanted a different lightsaber cosmetic or something of that nature.
What difficulty is this footage using? I'm not far into the video yet to be fair, but the enemy compitence already looks as concerning as preview footage I've seen.
@@100StarWars honestly, that sounds worse. I'd rather reliably intelligent AI than weaker enemies that can ruin your day if they get lucky. But hey, I wasn't really expecting the game to be for me tbh. Not a fan of most newer ubisoft games. I just wish there were more options to choose from for star wars.

Other than the bugs, one main thing that turned me off on this game was the fact that almost every alien spoke basic. Not enough alien species speaking alien languages.
The bribe money is strong with this one. The game is not really really good. The character models are lackluster, the story is too easy and the bugs there as well
I'll put it in the "check out later" box, I'm a bit tired of large open worlds at the moment. Can you fiddle around with the UI, turning off compass, health and such things? I usually like to turn those off during my playthroughs. On another note I really like the style you had throughout the video, with game audio coming in at certain parts. I'm also a long video enjoyer so the length sits nice with me
Not directly. You can have a minimal HUD, which is how I played it but there's still some elements as you can see. I didn't see any options to turn it all off sadly but maybe they're hidden?
I’m enjoying it but the graphics during dialogue is the poorest I’ve seen in a AAA game in years!!! Picking up weapons and not getting to put them on your bike sucks. Yes assassins creed Star Wars is awesome! Just like starfield being fallout in space was great
Yeah the faces in game were terrible... and dropping the guns when you interacted with anything was little bit of a bummer. But I'm really glad you're enjoying it regardless!
I am SO tired of games being dumbed down with 'X-Ray Vision' and 'painted ledges' because the devs think the players are too stupid to figure things out themselves. Love Star Wars but I don't see this being even close to how cool KotoR or Jedi Outcast.
Well, hot diggity darn, this is unexpected and very welcome. Between the Fallen Order/Jedi Survivor games and this, single player Star Wars games really have made a strong comeback.

Is it just me or did everything about this game feel completely surface-level, unnoteworthy, and bland before it came out? As for your aversion to Tatooine....remember that Tatooine is probably one of the most important planets in star wars...if you play through the sand people arc on KOTOR you understand why....Tatooine used to be a green lush and resource rich planet before the Rakata came.
Something I'm really curious about is what your PC build is, what resolution were you playing at (looks like it was ultra wide), and were you using maxed out graphics or anything like dlss or FSR? It looks like it ran really well for your PC and I am on the line as to whether or not I will get it.
Sorry, I accidently cut that part out but I did originally have it recorded. I was playing in 4k, Ultra using FSR at balanced on an AMD 7900GRE (no ray tracing)
Great review as usual. Didint really know what to think of this game myself. Not that I'd be able to play it at all as my graphics card is getting pretty old and the marketing really left something to be desired, but a couple friends had daid they were having fun with the game. My big question is how does it feel in terms of it being a STAR WARS game. Does it have any impact or relevance in the universe at all? Or does it feel like mkre of a one off game that just happens to be set in the star wars universe? Cause ive been playing quite a bit of the older games that would fall into legends continuity like the dark forces/jedi knight series and I see the connections that the games have to the old EU that i find in .ldern games kind of lacking.
Thank you Sam. It's honestly its own thing and doesn't really connect to the wider universe in terms of the movies. Maybe the comics and such with the syndicates but not the mainline characters or films.
@100StarWars mmm, that's honestly kind of a bummer. I've been thinking about it and when it does come to Disney star wars I feel like a issue with it is that nothing feels like it's connected at all, like what I've seen in the legends EU. Granted, I have not really delved deep into the Disney EU much, but even with the dark forces/ jedi knight series, it has connections with much of the established lore that came before it that makes it more enjoyable to play through. Still might eventually have to pick this game up when I get the chance. I just may wait till it's on sale or I can borrow it from some friends.
I dont get it. I personally will never get tired of the empire vs the rebels timeline, otherwise known as The Galactic Civil War Era, but thats just me
@@100StarWars If previous footage and some of your own footage is representative then it has serious issues. I'm not sure we should be excusing it when a game has this sort of budget. We don't even excuse it for AA games, or most Indies.
I wouldn't be so hyperbolic. It's what you would expect from any Ubisoft game, like Assassins Creed. But it's not the BEST stealth experience ever made if that's what you are hoping for.

It was genuinely laughable at times, and people did laugh at it. Many people. If anything my comment was restrained. People have been slamming this game based on preview coverage. Not just because so many RUclipsrs and influencers were flown to Ubisoft HQ and given who know what compensation (along with a week trip to Disneyland with all sorts of priority access), though as reviewers like IGN gave the game massive praise for mechanics that it's own footage showed was clearly not functioning properly and might never function properly. This being detection issues. Along with animation issues. The previews followed scripts and sang praise from the rooftops. This from people like Gmanlives, who in the past would have slammed the game's issues. Though didn't have a bad word to say about them. You also took a soft touch to the games issues. Why? I can speculate, though I don't know. None of this is hyperbole. You are entitled to your opinion, and you're not primarily a gaming RUclipsr so I'm not going to give you the same level of criticism for that as I might other RUclipsrs. Though the light touch this game has received from many with early access is suspect and no one will really have answers until those who purchased the game begin to post reviews.

Only 24 hours for the whole main game storyline that’s absolutely horrible, you have guards that are literally blind, you have areas that aren’t open world where it makes you turn back. so the whole thing is untrue because survivor was open too. This is the best game in the franchise. What are you insane
Cyberpunk, the Witcher 3 and Breath of the Wild all have some areas that make you turn back or cannot reenter or enter until you've reach a certain point? Are they not open world? Cyberpunk and Breath of the Wild are also 20-30 hours when just doing the main story?
I am definitely getting this game as a huge REAL star wars fan. Not the Disney crap that’s been released. REAL Star Wars. LUCAS Star Wars. Or in some cases outright fake. Some of those types of content creators have openly admitted that they stir up rage completely out of thin air. You might find a RUclipsr called TurfNation interesting, he talks about some of this stuff.

Ok, you managed to convince me that this game is worth playing. Once it's pirated. In a year or two, when it will be completed, fixed and optimized, with mods to correct theses atrocious faces and remaining bugs. But it's certainly not worth 70$ at the moment.
I really appreciate the review man, but truth be told I’m gonna pass. I’m really burned out with the rebellion era and for me the Ubisoft open world stuff is getting pretty old. Plus this is my personal nitpick but I really wanted to customize my own character for an open world Star Wars game but the protagonist is voiced, kind of similar to Old Republic online game.
This sounds and looks so good based on everything you’ve said. I’m one of many many huge star wars fans. I read the books, comics, play the games, watch the movies, shows. While I think many things (including a few movies) were a miss, I think that Star Wars has delivered on quality content over the years that has more often than not, made me smile, cry, and cheer. I’ll be playing this early. I support this game because I want to see more. I want to see more open world games based on this universe and while this game may not be the best version of that, it’s a great starting point.
Like I've told you many times my friend that i can't play any of these new Star Wars unless it's available to download on mobile app. I really liked the trailers for this game and that is set during the period of the Original Trilogy

I can still take your positive word for this, 100% Star Wars, but I still think Jedi Academy is the better similar game despite being on a different continuity and genre. Easily recommend it, though one need play the previous Dark Forces Saga games so to get the full progressicet lore and gameplay package. And besides, we know how Disney Star Wars is doing with having, say five duds for every one gem, while Legends has five gems for every one dud.

There's lots of collectibles for sure. But I would say it's one of the more compact and enjoyable Ubi open world games I've played.

Unfortunately my Swtor main got hit with the bug that doesn't let you romance Beniko. It's a known bug and there is no fix.

Oh yeah this is definitely open. There's no barriers aside from needing a certain speeder part to fully explore one of the planets.

The AI is not amazing stealth wise... however the game can be quite brutal. You get killed in a few shots.

Well, hot diggity darn, this is unexpected and very welcome. Between the Fallen Order/Jedi Survivor games and this, single player Star Wars games really have made a strong comeback.

Is it just me or did everything about this game feel completely surface-level, unnoteworthy, and bland before it came out? I'm not saying every Star Wars game has to reinvent the wheel but I've seen very few games marketing as forgettable as this one, where the only and most interesting thing about it is the well-deserved controversy over the price.
Glad to know this is a decent game! I’m tired of all the flops. Though SW has been doing better in the game sphere actually so yeah, trend continuing.

As for your aversion to Tatooine....remember that Tatooine is probably one of the most important planets in star wars...if you play through the sand people arc on KOTOR you understand why....Tatooine used to be a green lush and resource rich planet before the Rakata came.

Something I'm really curious about is what your PC build is, what resolution were you playing at (looks like it was ultra wide), and were you using maxed out graphics or anything like dlss or FSR? It looks like it ran really well for your PC and I am on the line as to whether or not I will get it.
Sorry, I accidently cut that part out but I did originally have it recorded. I was playing in 4k, Ultra using FSR at balanced on an AMD 7900GRE (no ray tracing)
Great review as usual. Didint really know what to think of this game myself. Not that I'd be able to play it at all as my graphics card is getting pretty old and the marketing really left something to be desired, but a couple friends had daid they were having fun with the game. My big question is how does it feel in terms of it being a STAR WARS game. Does it have any impact or relevance in the universe at all? Or does it feel like mkre of a one off game that just happens to be set in the star wars universe? Cause ive been playing quite a bit of the older games that would fall into legends continuity like the dark forces/jedi knight series and I see the connections that the games have to the old EU that i find in .ldern games kind of lacking.
Thank you Sam. It's honestly its own thing and doesn't really connect to the wider universe in terms of the movies. Maybe the comics and such with the syndicates but not the mainline characters or films.
@100StarWars mmm, that's honestly kind of a bummer. I've been thinking about it and when it does come to Disney star wars I feel like a issue with it is that nothing feels like it's connected at all, like what I've seen in the legends EU. Granted, I have not really delved deep into the Disney EU much, but even with the dark forces/ jedi knight series, it has connections with much of the established lore that came before it that makes it more enjoyable to play through. Still might eventually have to pick this game up when I get the chance. I just may wait till it's on sale or I can borrow it from some friends.

It's about as good as you'd expect from a Ubisoft game with stealth. Nothing remarkable, but it's not terrible.
@@100StarWars If previous footage and some of your own footage is representative then it has serious issues. I'm not sure we should be excusing it when a game has this sort of budget. We don't even excuse it for AA games, or most Indies.
I wouldn't be so hyperbolic. It's what you would expect from any Ubisoft game, like Assassins Creed. But it's not the BEST stealth experience ever made if that's what you are hoping for.

Based on previous footage it wasn't just a serious issue. It was genuinely laughable at times, and people did laugh at it. Many people.
If anything my comment was restrained.
People have been slamming this game based on preview coverage. Not just because so many RUclipsrs and influencers were flown to Ubisoft HQ and given who know what compensation (along with a week trip to Disneyland with all sorts of priority access), though as reviewers like IGN gave the game massive praise for mechanics that it's own footage showed was clearly not functioning properly and might never function properly.
This being detection issues. Along with animation issues.
The previews followed scripts and sang praise from the rooftops. This from people like Gmanlives, who in the past would have slammed the game's issues. Though didn't have a bad word to say about them.
You also took a soft touch to the games issues. Why? I can speculate, though I don't know.
None of this is hyperbole. You are entitled to your opinion, and you're not primarily a gaming RUclipsr so I'm not going to give you the same level of criticism for that as I might other RUclipsrs.
Though the light touch this game has received from many with early access is suspect and no one will really have answers until those who purchased the game begin to post reviews.
I'm still not gonna buy it after the whole scam surrounding it, ya can't get away from that.

Only 24 hours for the whole main game storyline that’s absolutely horrible, you have guards that are literally blind, you have areas that aren’t open world where it makes you turn back. so the whole thing is untrue because survivor was open too. This is the best game in the franchise. What are you insane
Cyberpunk, the Witcher 3 and Breath of the Wild all have some areas that make you turn back or cannot reenter or enter until you've reach a certain point? Are they not open world?
Cyberpunk and Breath of the Wild are also 20-30 hours when just doing the main story?
The only things I'm concerned about are the insane pricing and the Wokeness. If it's woke, I ain't buying it.

I am definitely getting this game as a huge REAL star wars fan. Not the Disney crap that’s been released. REAL Star Wars. LUCAS Star Wars. There are a lot of other RUclipsrs though who don’t like it and basically said it sucked but I e been following you for a long time so I trust your opinion over theirs. Thanks for the review. @@100StarWars No. There was a big cross over event called War of the Bounty Hunters in the comics that featured most of these syndicates. The following books were Crimson Reign and Hidden Empire. Sorry I said the wrong title. But I did like Crimson Empire comics in the 90s!

Ok, you managed to convince me that this game is worth playing. Once it's pirated. In a year or two, when it will be completed, fixed and optimized, with mods to correct theses atrocious faces and remaining bugs. But it's certainly not worth 70$ at the moment.

I really appreciate the review man, but truth be told I’m gonna pass. I’m really burned out with the rebellion era and for me the Ubisoft open world stuff is getting pretty old. Plus this is my personal nitpick but I really wanted to customize my own character for an open world Star Wars game but the protagonist is voiced, kind of similar to Old Republic online game.
Fair enough. Though I'd say this is a Ubisoft game that's a little bit more compact and digestible than the others.

I've not fully explored, but I didn't noticed anything significant in the main story that stood out.

This sounds and looks so good based on everything you’ve said. I’m one of many many huge star wars fans. I read the books, comics, play the games, watch the movies, shows. While I think many things (including a few movies) were a miss, I think that Star Wars has delivered on quality content over the years that has more often than not, made me smile, cry, and cheer. I’ll be playing this early. I support this game because I want to see more. I want to see more open world games based on this universe and while this game may not be the best version of that, it’s a great starting point.

Like I've told you many times my friend that i can't play any of these new Star Wars unless it's available to download on mobile app. I really liked the trailers for this game and that is set during the period of the Original Trilogy
They won’t run on mobile phones at all, the graphics and performance are too much. They need powerful hardware and they’re never gonna out aaa games on mobile

I can still take your positive word for this, 100% Star Wars, but I still think Jedi Academy is the better similar game despite being on a different continuity and genre. Easily recommend it, though one need play the previous Dark Forces Saga games so to get the full progressicet lore and gameplay package.
And besides, we know how Disney Star Wars is doing with having, say five duds for every one gem, while Legends has five gems for every one dud.

I didn't receive a 'personal game code' - I was given early access to the game like hundreds if not thousands of creators and journalists to review the game.
