  • Since the BBC America original series Killing Eve started, the shared obsession that desk-bound security services officer Eve (Sandra Oh) and stylish assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer) have had with each other has been on a collision course that seems inevitable. With Villanelle desperate to prove that she’s not the monster that everyone believes her to be and Eve on a revenge mission as she’s chasing down The Twelve, thing are sure to get messy and dark before they reach their final season conclusion.
During this interview with Collider, which you can both watch and read, co-stars Comer and Oh talked about finding a complex and truthful ending rather than a happy one, how the ending evolved as they were shooting, collaborating with a different showrunner each season, why Villanelle’s desire to change isn’t coming from an honest place, that Eve’s revenge mission will take her on a dark path, and how everything that happens in the final season will affect how their characters feel about each other.

@@annaksyonova1106 In the other interview Jodie also responded with „the good thing was that we've been together“ when being asked about how she feels about the ending. Which was already alarming that this was the only enthusiastic thing she had to say, she simply could not or rather didn't want to fake it because what happened was personal. After five years of not only execution, development but also your own contribution to your character there is a difference in wanting to say goodbye to your character properly and being disabled to. It's impossible to make peace with the 'what did i just watch' after effect to this day. They isolated everyone with this.

And with good reason. Fans understood that as professionals Sandra Oh & Jodie Comer did the best they could with the scripts they were given. And even if they did have low opinions of the finale and its execution which they filmed, are they really in a position to risk getting blackballed by other film & TV industry giants for airing them in public? in my opinion a script or screen write like Killing Ever really brings out the full potential of actors, because in real life characters like these are so complex, and not just the inside, but expression on the outside. I don't know if Jodie studied such a character in real life, where most actors will research a "real" live person to develop. The crazy eye, but the most important I felt about Killing Eve is what Jodie says that Villanelle doesn't know her self. I think she does, but is confused by other people where Jodie brings in her facial expression of confusion with the people around her. It's great, because you rarely see that even in that fucked up movie The Joker. You don't see that confusion within. The confusion within, that people in power are killing people and it's okay, but I'm killing people and you're saying I'm insane or you're saying I'm weird, but you are more weird than I. You never see that facial confusion that Jodie expresses in Villanelle eyes. This is what makes her so great is the facial expression of emotion, not just acting the emotion. I have not heard that question coming from any journalist or talk show host, as to how they developed their character in transformation from just a black and white script. I bet if I read the books I would get that same impression that Villanelle is a very colorful character outside and inside and not as evil one may to believe, because does show empathy and sympathy at times in her life. Like in real life when people are confused they would express confusion in their face or their actions or sometimes an anger so angry that you actually cry instead of lashing out. I've seen this in real life. This is also seen in Killing Eve after Villanelle kills her mom when Villanelle is on the train listening to music. I thought Wow! Every facial and body movement was perfectly portrayed. I believe Jodie Comer is very observant in people. You can't just act that and I'll name for example that most people probably missed. When she sitting there shaking her leg and then calming down. I was like no-way! She had to study someone or she is very, uniquely observant in people. I've never seen that from actors in many types of psychopath, sociopath movies. But, Villanelle's Character isn't a true psycopath, or sociopath, because she does show emotion when she kills. Bad people made her what she is, not herself by her brain or a disorder. The bad people want to keep her and use negative propaganda so she will believe them and not others. Governments are good at that especially England and U.S. with MK Ultra which is actually used today, but under a new name. The way the characters are, they could never be together. They are enemies by society and government. People like her really do exist, but governments keep them from ever getting to the public. Sometimes what you hear in the media isn't the truth and all the governments all over the world have media control, total control. And being a Gulf War Veteran I wish more women were truly like Villanelle.
