  • In this video I decided to try out the new pitch tone setting in my Nokta Legend. It is the v1.09 update. I thought it might be best for use in rocky creeks and shallow waters because it lets you hear the size and shape without the pinpointer button, but also still displays the target display number. This gives you the advantage of deciding quickly if it is worth the effort to dig in a rocky creek or river bed. You can also fairly quickly switch to 60 or another tone, if you want to hear the sound before digging. I would compare it to the old White's XLT VCO option. #WhitesXLT
I use a pick for creek detecting as you can quickly get through the top layer of rocks and gravel. Although the area that I am detecting doesn't have much in terms of history, it is still a beautiful area to get out an detect on a hot summer day. Happy hunting!

I like to use it more around water and rocks, the only beaches around here are state park lakes and the sand is only about 8 inches then it is hardpack. Occasionally find jewelry. I just don't go there until winter when crowds are gone.
