Chicago is the birthplace and inventor of the skyscraper. Don't get me wrong all those cities have very impressive skylines but they not as fascinating as Chicago's skyline. Without Chicago there won't be no New York City, Hong Kong, Shanghai or Dubai. Chicago inspired many architects from around the world to study Chicago's spectacular skyscrapers. Chicago has the best skyline in the world period.

Gabriel Howard I agree, Chicago is way better than any other city, THE best skyline, awesome public transportation, awesome people, cheap place to live in, safe except for the southside, awesome attractions, the best museums with one of the only complete T-Rex fossils, and great climate. People who don't like the city have either never been to Chicago, are biast, Are completely oblivious of anything, lived only in the south side of the city, or are New Yorkers who think that their city is the best even though it has to deal with crimes, terrorism, natural disasters like hurricanes and tropical storms, high prices in everything, dirty city, and A LOT OF traffic.

Overall look: Chicago hands downm its combination of 20th century architecture coinciding with modern sleeker buildings is the best looking.
More sleeker modern skylines, I'd have to give it to Dubai or Shanghai
Native New Yorker, but I still feel the chicago skyline is the best. Theres just somthing about the architecture of the buildings and the way theyre aligned with each other that looks more attractive then in nyc.

Chicago has a breathtaking skyline, as does New York, of course. Everyone thinks "their" skyline should be on the list, and you may be right. But China could fill the top 10 cities by itself. Nice video, thanks for posting it.
Michael DeSantis Chicago I agree, best skyline in the US and DEFINITELY on the top ten list of best skylines in the world but not new york, the only reason it's skyline is on there is because of Freedom Tower, Empire State Building and Chrysler Building. Chicago has Willis (or Sears) tower, John Hancock Center, Aon Center, Trump International Hotel and Tower, Water tower place, Two Prudential Plaza and Navy Pier.
A Chicagoan Chicago hates the fact that Trump even has a Tower there. Chicagoans cry about it all the time! They hate him so much!

NYC have 8 million plus in population vs Chicago have 2.7 million.
NYC has a lot packed into it while Chicago is too Midwestern conservative. London, Paris, and Tokyo compares to NYC not a midwest town that just happens to have skyscrapers( Chicago). It's obvious you don't travel.
