Been drawn to Tatar bows (and traditional forms of archery in general) in recent months and after watching a ton of your videos while in quarantine, I ordered a fiberglass Tatar bow from Alibow about a month a half ago. Shipping during this pandemic is understandably tricky so I'm just eagerly looking out my window for a package to arrive any day now. I cannot wait to get started on thumb release - and dreading it at the same time :) thank you for all that you do! Those bows are beautiful
Anya, I did exactly the same thing with a cheap "HuntingDoor" bow made by Top Archery ... sort of like a budget budget version of the Alibow fibreglass Tatar ... included a leather thumb doobie. Same eager but nervous wait. Anyway, got it finally and it's so great. This thumb release shenanigans is amazing fun. My only advice: start very short range and don't look at your arrow, only look at the target. I used to 3-fingers-under release and shotgun aim down the arrow like an American bow-hunter, so this has been a big learning curve. But it's great fun. Instinctive shooting is amazing. Good luck!
@@gussie88bunny oh wow thanks for the tips! Will definitely be doing that :) I'm still brand new to archery having my 1st bow (a takedown recurve - I opted for a bow with a shelf to get started) arrive just 3 weeks ago so I'm still finding new things to try out each day. I am loving this journey so far and so excited where it goes from here :) instinctive archery is definitely something I would like to develop and work on. Thank you again and take care!
@@anyau2867 I use leather thumb ring on amazon when I first started all the hard thumb rings digs into my thumb too much and I have to wonder what size to use. The leather ring an be make smaller or bigger as my thumb swell.
@@antwantuan4040 I'm glad you mentioned the leather thumb ring.. I did order a brass ring from Alibow but was concerned with the actual fit and all so eventually ordered a leather one (from China - I'm located in the Philippines) so at least I can play around with what works :) thanks for the tip!
Hi! Mr. Armin 😁 excellent comparison. You who know me that since I have my cheap AF tatar bow has provided me with a lot of fun. the first week I felt a vibration if you held it too tight, When I learned to use it well I didn't feel that vibration for a few seconds. I use it with the arrows of AF 385grains and it works fine. Now if I were to make a decision to buy another one, it must be with German Glass. It is safer to last longer. Thanks for this nice video. Enjoy your day. 😀
Well this seems tailored for me considering my comment on the last video. So Happy to see your comparison for all the price points. I have a one piece older version of the AF tartar and was looking to see weather the feel of the take down was the same. It seems like it's on par with some added improvements. I'm mostly happy to see them do away with the leather arrow pass and go with the inlay at every price level. Love the videos Thank you
Yet another exceptional comparison. By my viewpoint You have no equal on RUclips. At this point in my decision making process I am keenly interested in your explanations and analysis. Thank you muchly.
For practice they are both very good. I have seen videos of Miguel using the cheap one and he has a lot of use of that bow and it still works well. I appreciate that video, it helps me think to order. I'll have how the cheapest one works for me. Thank you very much. Armin.
And there is a distinct difference in tone/ note of the bowstring when firing arrows ... they are the same when no arrows are fired but with arrows the pitch of the sound is very different... the bearpaw (less vibration) has a much higher tone.
Great comparison, thanks! I noticed that AF also makes the SiCai in a takedown version, though I don't see a review of yours about it. Considering your experiences with AF, these Tartar bows in both their standard and takedown versions AND the SiCai, would you feel comfortable making a recommendation between the takedown SiCai and Bear Paw glass takedown Tatar? Thank you for your time!
Good comparison, I really like the original string pad and the way the nocks are designed, it gives the bow a pretty finished and clear look, On the new bow I like the way the string pad is part of the design. I like that you can choose the wood type on them and the possibility of take-down too. Nice seeing all the comparisons lately, have you've reviewed all the AF laminated bows yet?
Thanks for the review. The standard version may be good for someone on a budget but when you consider these bows often fail within 12 months, this doesn't really make them affordable at all. I've had 2 standard AF Tartar bows crack in less than a year of moderate use, hopefully the upgraded version is longer lasting. They're so nice to shoot and were my favourite bow, it's just a shame they don't seem to last very long. Looking forward to seeing how this newer version holds up over time. 🤞
My old af archery ottoman bow has a deep scratch on the finish. How would I go by repairing it? Not sure if this is something you've had to do. Maybe a video on it would be helpful to other Archers also. 👍
Sir, a question if I may please? I am starting to use a thumb ring. I am a left handed archer. Should I have the arrow on the right hand side of the bow or the left hand side? Regards Joe
Hi! Been watching your videos for a while now maybe a couple years, I am so glad you keep making them! Would AF archery make a bow in a higher draw weight you think? Like 55 or 60 at 28? Thank you for these great videos they show a lot of detail I always appreciate it!
Hi Armin nice review as always, I believe it’s very interesting that the old standard version shoots A LOT FASTER !!! Than the new updated one, or I am wrong ?
Armin Hirmer i imagine that the wooden core and glass fiber of updated one are of better quality. Perhaps the wooden grooves of the siyahs add more weight at the edges of the bow making it little less sufficient speed wise.
Hey Armin thank you so much for this video firstly I wanted to buy one of this bow but now I definitely want a biocomposite bow because I can shoot from horses and in competition of mounted archery you can’t have a fiber glass bow . So Which is the best recurve biocomposite bow in your opinion ? (No matter the price) or maybe they are all a good choice and in can’t going bad
I own this bow and it's my favorite. It's smooth and a beautiful bow. My groups are tighter than a whale's blowhole, which is water tight. For some reason it just "feels right."
All and Well...but SIMON says.."HOLD MY BEER"!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ok..I may be biased....as I own a Tartar(ooops RAPTOR) from Simon's Bow Company....but you do too...so you get it...😎👍

Fantastic takedown bows. I personally like most Ali Bow products more, but I like the Turkish AF Bows more. My favorite one is the Que Yue.
Exactly the comparison I needed. Thank you Armin. My Oak Tatar is on his way already ...

How’s it
I was just going to ask you this very question about the difference of these two! Thanks !!
Thank I learned language English from your chanel
I checked the af website and the expensive of the takedown one is not bear paw, told them to check but they didn’t reply
Super! Ich hab ja schon öfters auf der af Shop Seite rumgeschaut und mich immer gefragt wwie sich die Unterschiede bemerkbar machen.

Which do you prefer? The updated AF Tatar bow or the Alibow Segye? The Tatar seems very noisy. I'm torn between the two.
two different bows. both great. if I would have to choose one... I guess Segye. Luckily I don't have to choose :D

haha thanks, nooooo way to many bows I did not review. But AF just send me 3....
Saw BearPaw glass on eBay for sale last year, it was five or six times the price of the unbranded glass.
Excellent Sir! May I ask what that voucher code was? I cannot make it out...

What weight?
I got 50lb tatar standard. No wonder my 32 inch arrow very hard to draw on end.
Hi, what do you mean by "long lasting"? Is the other bow not long lasting as well?
bear paw glass is the best right now, in the past the normal ones broke earlier
My old af archery ottoman bow has a deep scratch on the finish. How would I go by repairing it? Not sure if this is something you've had to do. Maybe a video on it would be helpful to other Archers also. 👍
I have a question sir, does the regular Tatar bow that is takedown have more handshock than the regular that is not not takedown?
Less
Sir, a question if I may please? I am starting to use a thumb ring. I am a left handed archer. Should I have the arrow on the right hand side of the bow or the left hand side?
Regards
Joe
when you shoot left handed, the arrow should be on the left side

You can ask them, I don't know if they do
Do Alibow laminated bows last longer than the Af ones?
Not necessarily, the AF with bearpaw glass I guess are equal
Can these shoot right or left handed? Looks like yes but before I purchase, wanted to make sure. Thanks!
Yes

Hi Mr. Armin! I'm wondering, what is your number 1 bow suggestion for someone interested in giving archery a try?
I would use a good forgiving beginners bow. we use the snake recurve, a okcubaba Turkish in 25#, something like that

9:18 what arrows ?
Why old version is faster then new one the raw materials also upgrade everything so why amir?
Design?
That is not the $175 Tatar bow which is not takedown and has ray skin arrow pass instead of the inlay. The takedown version is $199 plus shipping...
Oh, when you say so. Got it wrong then
You have a lot of bows and I have had my eyes on the Tatar and Ottoman style AF bows. Thanks for all your advice!
