Good vid, just starting out with NINA and slipping on the learning curve for sure and this helps! Thanks!

No doubt the learning curve is steep, mainly because the menu structure is not typical. But once you get the hang of it, NINA is really powerful.

@astrophotoguru do you happen to have an answer to this question: I need more distance between my laptop and my mount. If i used a travel router, with a 4 port usb hub connected, and connected my laptop to the router via wifi, would I be able to control my mount/camera? Would it work if i was out in the middle of the wilderness, with no signal?

@@kevinashley478 You are certainly not alone when it comes to cable management. You have quite a few options. If you don't mind simplifying your cables, you might consider a unit that minimizes the cables necessary, like the Pegasus Astro Pocket Powerbox Advance Gen 2. I have one myself and it is really good at minimizing cables. You still need at least one wire to connect to your laptop. Check it out at agenaastro.com/pegasus-astro-pocket-powerbox-advance-gen-2-power-supply-peg-ppbadv-gen2.html. More elegant solutiontions are the wireless types. Depending on your budget and desires, these can be inexpensive, like the ASIAir Plus. It allows you to control your gear wirelessly with a tablet or smart phone. Check it out at agenaastro.com/zwo-asiair-plus-wi-fi-astrophotography-camera-controller.html. If you have a bigger budget, the cream of the crop is the PrimaLuce Labs Eagle 6. This is a mini computer with Windows installed. It allows you to control your gear with a tablet, smartphone or laptop wirelessly and you can still use your favoirte Windows applications. It can be mounted directly on your mount or telescope. Check it out at agenaastro.com/primalucelab-eagle6-wifi-astrophotography-computer.html. I don't own either of those wireless options, but if I were to travel more to remote sites, I would definitely invest in one of them. I hope this helps.

@astrophotoguru THANK YOU!! I am seriously considering getting the ASIAir Mini. My only concern with that is the storage. Can I use one of the USB ports to plug in my 2 TB SSD and have the images saved to that? Until I get the Mini, I am gonna try the travel router option and see if that works, until i can save up. I can get the travel router for like $40 and hopefully my laptop will connect to it. I am currently using NINA and all i have is my HEQ5, Canon T3i, Apertura 60mm f/6, and 2 dew straps. I have a 4 port USB hub, 2TB SSD external hard drive and a 716Wh portable power station. I think that actually my next purchase will be a guide scope and camera and then I will get the ASIAir Mini. At some point I will look into getting a dual narrowband filter, either the Altair 6nm or the Optolong L-enhance. Probably the Altair.
I greatly appreciate your help and advice.

@@kevinashley478 The older models of the ASI Air did not support external storage through the USB ports. I believe the newer models have added that support, at least for the "plus" version. I am not sure about the mini. Check with the vendor before purchasing if this is important
