Ahhh, I will miss seeing Bubba on your videos. Wish he could move to San Diego with me instead. 🙂I like how quiet he is. What great training and heart you put into your horses. Thank you for sharing Bubba's update. Really enjoyed it.
Your philosophy of "Just be honest" works well in every single business, and every single circumstance. It's saved me a thousand times. I hope Bubba's owner appreciates what a good horse he is and he lives a long happy productive life.
I am going to miss seeing Bubba, he is such a sweet horse....would have loved having a horse like him, such a beautiful horse and what change he has made. Wish Bubba a great life and that he gets an owner that would want to use him for work. Thank you for sharing. x
Strangles us a big deal in Norway, if they just think you have a horse with the possibility of having this deceace, they close up the stable and put every one in quarantine for month, even after the last infected horse is sound. We had that situation some years ago at the stable where I kept my horse. The riding school had to close down, only horse owners where allowed to enter the area. No trail riding, no summer pasture for the horses. No fun. I imported my bold boy from Denmark. He was an Oldenburger for both jumping and dressage, and he didn't catch strangles, even that his box neighbours where infected. The vet told me that in Danmark, they use to get every horse infected on a farm, since they normally never catch it again. So the vet thought my boy must have had it before I bought him. In Norway, we try not to get infected with strangles. Strange how different between the countries 😮
Just had to say love what you do for the horse world. You are a testimony to honesty, integrity and just plain “real!” Thank you for all the work you do to help all of us be the best horseman we can be! Can’t wait to be at the clinic in March in Maryland! Thank you.
Love the hat story, and that it was an Appaloosa, as you know I am partial! I bring spare everythings for the horses , except a saddle, but especially underwear and socks for me lol! Also travel with a first aid kit too
Don’t you need a super smart virtual assistant who is tech savvy and has a passion for horses?? Lol. As usual, great video. I love it when the goof nuts stick their heads up over the wall. I know the one was Breeze, and I’m pretty sure the other was Sabre (one of my favorites!). Thanks for sharing what you do!! (And hit me up for that remote position when you’re ready. 😉)
I have bring an extra bridle, reins, pad. I mainly trail ride and I bring boots in case we lose a shoe. I also just have an extra change of clothes and shoes for me.
I love seeing the sticky beaks in the next stalls craning their necks 😳 to see what Tim's doing with the horse being worked on, but for the sticky beaks comfort sake, I think those two stalls need either a mounting block or a viewing window😍😂 Wouldn't you just love to know what their thoughts are? 😂 For those new to horses, some do have a possessiveness for their riders. I'm very much looking forward to seeing video of you and Hank competing at the show, Tim. Congrats for being in the money👍 I'm sure Bubba's owner will be very pleased with what you've achieved with him/her.
I’m happy to hear you had a successful show with Bubba. I think it’s great you take the time to video and show just how much work it takes to own a horse. Too many people want a horse but have no idea what they’re getting into then the horse suffers. I’m really surprised not every state requires reporting Strangles. That’s crazy! Strangles is highly contagious and equines often die from it. I don’t blame you for insisting horse owners have a certificate of vaccination, especially for Strangles. I like many others enjoy your videos, thank you and have a nice day. 😊
Most horses don't die from regular strangles. The thing about vaccinating for strangles is if a horse has had strangles before, the vaccination causes serious complications and they can die. Unless you've owned the horse since birth or know the truthful full history, it's better not to vaccinate for it. The vaccine efficacy isn't great anyway.
@@tracyjohnson5023 I see what you’re saying, but I’m not a vet. I also agree with you that vaccines are not 100% effective. But, if a person’s horse is around a lot of horses say in competitions or commercial stables what’s the best decision? Without knowing, especially if the state doesn’t require reporting, is it worth taking the chance either way? Vaccinate, don’t vaccinate? It would be nice to know if there is an antibody test that can show the likelihood of having had the disease.
@@patriciafarran9742 there is a blood titer test that can show if they've had it within 2 years, have it now with no clinical signs (shedders). Some states do require reporting if outbreaks, but if a person doesn't call the vet, it usually doesn't get reported. Strangles vaccines require a dose and booster like many. Strangles is a strep virus that's bacterial. Most horses get over it well, but it's usually 1-2 months lost of training/riding time if they do get it. Nationwide, horses are legally supposed to have health certificates (30 days or less) and coggins when they're hauled across state lines. However, there used to be a passport for horses hauled around a lot that didn't require that. Not sure if they still do that. I always take my own buckets and equipment with me everywhere. I've got a stall kit that I use anywhere before I put my horse in. Hammer, screws, nails, quat disinfectant. I bring my own shavings too lol. Pretty sure I'm over the top, but I've worked quarantine facilities off and on for years.
By the way I didn't know there is a vaccine for strangles. So I googled and we got a vaccine for strangles approved in 2021. It's for EU counties and Norway ( which is not part of EU 😉). I'm not even sure if my boy has this vaccine... Have to check that. Thanks for bringing that up. Learned something new 😊👍
We show draft horse six horse hitch at County Fair level we have a rolling cabinet 6ft tall 3 ft wide 12 inch deep of strap goods bit snaps and black tap and a 2 x 2 x 2 show box for first aid
Congrats on your show! Bubba sure is a nice horse! Strangles went through my boarding stable 2 summers ago. It was odd since all the horses are required to have all vacs done with all paperwork proof, including strangles. Not all horses were affected, including my Tennessee Walker, but about 7 got it bad with burst abscesses. And they were all older horses! Nasty stuff! No one was allowed to take horses off property but it was all good this past summer. Take care and love your channel!
I hope you show videos of your show's I was in the cutting worldnot with thebig guns but had fun. I haven't been able to find a honest trainer around me but im still hopeful. Just wanted to say, I enjoy your videos thanks.
Hi Tim What can I do with a young gelding that drops his head to let me halter him but then pushes his nose up as if to say screw you? Then when I bring him in he wants to whip his head to the left and acts like he wants to bite me but doesn't. He doesn't do it to everyone just me.
I prefer a dog comb or shedding comb with Stainless steel pins. Start at the bottom, using something like Show Sheen, and work your way up. That first full comb-out can be a bit time-consuming, but after that it is easy as long as you comb the tail out 2-3 times a week.
I think Bubba is going home. He was at Tim's for training. Bubba had apparently give two other trainers a run for their money and needed a trainer smarter than the horse. So the owner sent Bubba to Tim.

Bubba has come so far!!! I am grateful he had you to train him and now has a great future. ❤

Gonna miss his videos but glad he's going home! GL to Bubba in his new adventures w his owner!

That's really fascinating! TY SO much for sharing!
Do you ever feel sad to see a horse move on or is your biggest enjoyment getting the next horse to all they can be
This is so cool, showing us all the loading and unloading you have to do for a show. And the running narration is so pleasant. Loving your channel. :)
Looking forward to your show with Hank video 😊
Love your integrity. Sorely lacking in the horse business.

Hi mr tim you do a good job with the horses and cows. Have a nice day 🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐄🐄🐄 good job with Bubba
I love your commentary.....si mple and direct! How refreshing! Love your saddle, too!

😃👍
I take several different bridles, bits, spurs and girths, in case something needs to be changed.
Godspeed Bubba!
Bubba's going to miss you.
And you're going to miss him.
Bubba's right leg looks a little swollen❤ right front leg
Dollar General and Family Dollar are all over my way too! Might have to try the detangler for my own hair! 😂
I have bring an extra bridle, reins, pad. I mainly trail ride and I bring boots in case we lose a shoe. I also just have an extra change of clothes and shoes for me.
Always carry extra girths, pads, bridles in tack box in float. Good to see your gear. Tracey (Australia)

Never got a good set of chaps made. I showed without which was OK for what I was doing. There are tons of unscrupulous trainers in Southern CA.
Bubba is a rare color! Absolutely solid bay!
Chairs, halters, buckets, snaps, leads , girth ,bridle, hoof pick and brush. Always good to have those extra
Enjoyed watching him get it all figured out and become a horse anyone would be proud of!
❤❤ and needs a 😊 trim 😊
I bring safety pins, Chicago screws, leather strings, needle and thread. Something will break unexpectedly.
Tim, that brushing at th3 wnd was the opposte if asmr 😂 that sound. My ears...
Like your honesty!
Good morning guys, good info, Thank you Tim & Melinda for video, 😄
Do unto others as u would have them do unto you, Appreciate your character!

My vet does not recommend strangles vax; does not give it. Lots of complications can happen from it.

Interesting talk today. Enjoyed listening! Dollar General detangler! 😊

Strangles vaccine has been around in the US way before 2021.
You will be rewarded
So much schlepping for shows. 😂 and I al😅ways forgot something . Your bit has a cathedral port.❤

Also can you do a Wednesday talk about types of halters and what you prefer ?
The brush you lost is in your right rear pocket 😂?
Is it 😂😂
Figures!! LOL!
Why do you cross tie your horses in the barn? Is there pros and cons ?
Hi Tim What can I do with a young gelding that drops his head to let me halter him but then pushes his nose up as if to say screw you? Then when I bring him in he wants to whip his head to the left and acts like he wants to bite me but doesn't. He doesn't do it to everyone just me.
Does brushing aid in settling the horse as well as cleaning grooming?
It does to a point but as with anything there is a point where too much is harmful also.
Where can I find your patreon?
How does it work?
Thank you
Nice informative video.
Is bubba kind of thin? He looks underweight to me. Just curious
It's his breed.
There’s some weird fuzzy rectangles on the screen … just in the first few minutes.
He was blocking out the name of the feed. He does not sponsor.
@@bonniesears5286 Thank you!
It work beter too use hard regular burch on mane and tail ❤😊

10:02 “In a business where there’s a lot of scrupulous people around…”. Were you being tactful? Or did you mean unscrupulous?
Guessing he meant unscrupulous and just mis-spoke, working, paying attention to Bubba, and talking to us at the same time.
Yes I'm sure I miss spoke. Sometimes I’m in the middle of a thought and a horse distracts me and I lose my train of thought.
Did Bubba get sold or is he going back to his previous owner ?
I think Bubba is going home. He was at Tim's for training. Bubba had apparently give two other trainers a run for their money and needed a trainer smarter than the horse. So the owner sent Bubba to Tim.
He went back home to his current owner. He is still for sale but has not sold yet.
Try training with out a bit , that’s a true trainer
That is poor horsemanship. The bit is important for correct movement and body development.
