It's dishwashing liquid, any concentration of it that animals don't naturally consume will affect them in some way. For instance, if we were to consume a certain amount of soap, we would certainly get sick. Barring any anatomical differences that might otherwise allow them to survive soap, other smaller animals would have much less luck with a smaller amount of soap. The bubbles are diluted so obviously that decreases the concentration, but long exposure probably would kill the worms. Just to further back how even eco-friendly soaps can kill, various other pests can be caught and killed using the water cup method. All it takes is a cup filled with water and a few drops of dish or hand soap. The often scented smell of soap attracts certain insects like fruit flies and stinkbugs. Once they touch the water, the soap reduces the surface tension allowing the pests to sink instead of swim. In Pennsylvania where the stinkbugs come in hordes, we keep an old cottage cheese container outside with a stick to knock them into the cup if they are on the walls. The cup fills in a month or so.
