Have you thought about interviewing the civil pilot Christiaan van Heijst, the author of “Cargo Pilot” it is a great aviation book?
I spent 22 years of my early life plodding around in a fat Albert. Totally my fav aircraft. Even the sound of one droning overhead can make the hairs on my arms stand up.. Will never understand why the RAF retired its C130s, especially now, well ahead of time. So many memories.
A humble pilot flying the best military transport aircraft of all time.
Such an iconic aircraft. Great interview!
Thank you for continuing to bring us such great content!!! So neat to capture people's stories. You never interrupt and ask good questions that they can elaborate on.
Great to hear you enjoy them. Cheers
Great interview. Very humble guy.
Nice interview with Sott Bateman Hercules pilot. I want to read the book Here in the U.S. I'll look for it.
Great clip from your excellent channel 👍🏻. Great 35 min presentation Scott. How time has flown since doing our presentations on our 159 ITC Scott. AH Eng. 😎👍🏻
As a schoolkid living on a farm, halfway between Brisbane and Sydney, Australia, back in the '80s I used to watch Hercs fly so low I could see the pilots. NZ A4s would zoom around, I assumed looking for them. Loved watching it unfold. I'm sure the crew saw this kid standing in a paddock staring up at them. Who knows what they said to each other. Lol. EDIT: Sydney, not Sidney.
Great Scott and Mike.
Good to see Scott on here, I knew him in the Air Cadets, top bloke. Well done on the book, I've ordered one.
Was wondering how long before we saw the Mr Bateman. great to see him on finally.
Much awaited, much appreciated excellent insights as always from you.
Great interview! ❤
More loadies!
I loved my time on the Herc . Ex 47 Air Despatcher.
The C130 is a beautiful aircraft
If Scott's dad were owt like my dad Airfix must have had a Promo on Lysanders
That was the first Airfix kit mine bought me too
(I was very small and wondered why he gave me a broken Aeroplane)
He had to assemble it
Most important job the loadie has is to do is to get a good supply of sandwiches for the lads in the back.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love the videos, but can you please change that awful music for the intro/outro's?
Spent many a miserable hour in the boot of a Fat Albert along with all the rest of my squadron's ground crew, ground equipment and baggage on the way to God knows where for a detachment. Noisy.....no....very, very noisy, cramped, stuffy and no windows. A great flying truck but a dreadful passenger aircraft.
