One of the reasons in First Contact, when Data says "to hell with our orders," it works so well, because it's unexpected. If you say fuck this, fucking that all the time, it loses gravitas.
To say nothing of the fact that dropping F bombs so frequently just reeks of a juvenile concept of what "mature" dialogue is. Especially when it's a franchise that so rarely used strong language, and when it did, was meant to emphasize a serious or dramatic moment. (Data's "shit" remark in Generations notwithstanding, since that was kind of a mix of dramatic and comedic.)
While I don’t use profanity in my everyday speech I see how it’s application in a film can be a stand out moment to highlight emotional intensity. To swear left and right like some stupid kid looses the gravitas like you say. They might call it “mature language” but no mature person I know resorts to profanity every other word.
Let’s not forget that at the time, Data WAS a child. He didn’t have the experience to deal with his emotions properly. So him cussing made perfect sense, except that by then they probably used different words, but the audience wouldn’t have gotten the point as well if he went around calling everyone fizbin players
When I heard that the characters in the new Trek series were swearing, I lost all interest in watching them. I haven't seen a single episode. It simply isn't Trek.

Don't bother, Its fucking shit! I was very excited for the new series and the trailer looked ok but it was steeped in nostalgia which fogged my objective thought process. I really did try and watched it from start to finish but when the credits finally rolled for the final episode not only was I disappointed but I was relieved that it was over. I couldn't take any more of it, it was torture. This channel and RedLetterMedia did a review of it, if you want a laugh.

And yes, check out movies from the past. I started doing that years ago. First of all you discover just how good those filmakers and performers were. Then you find that you develop a higher standard for entertainment. The filmakers of the first half of the twentieth century were absolutely not saints but there was remarkable creative energy and innovation in that era. Even mediocre films from that time are better than what Hollywood is producing now. There is a 1980's documentary series made by Thames Television called "Hollywood" that is excellent and it's available free on You Tube. Also, "Buster Keaton, A Hard Act to Follow". Film restoration brings out the quality and beauty of the photography of old films. I found it a very pleasant surprize to explore the films of the past. Sticking it to the woke scum is a bonus.

Every time I watch Platoon, Dead Presidents, Kill Bill 1&2, Pulp Fiction, etc I am amazed at just how fresh these movies still feel. I am still spellbound by almost every scene.
I've started watching old school film noirs from the 40's and 50's, aka the junk B movies of the era and I'm amazed at how much better written they are then 95% of what's produced today. Everything's better today on the spectacle front (Budget, action scenes, special effects), but when it comes to substance (writing) most (so called) entertainment is lazy garbage, just hit the copy and paste button. No effort, no thinking required.
I found myself watching old movies and shows a ton of times. I do miss those days when you could actually invest a couple of hours of your time to be entertained.

I think you're going about this incorrectly. Toughening and discipline is just going to lose your kids. The fact is stuff that only works when you have the power, if you don't then your kids will just see their Dad as a raving lunatic against a society that could clearly crush him like a bug.... I would endeavor you to mainly focusing on getting your kids to like you and influence them more passively, perhaps plan family activities and get them to participate in decision making so that they feel they have a say in deciding to become the people that they'll become. Otherwise you're just facing a losing battle in where your kids will simply just despise you and society will likely celebrate the destruction of your family.

As soon as Data said, "that you loved me", I literally started to tear up at the death of one of my favourite childhood characters. I've watched TNG thousands of times and I still watch it till this day and I have literally never felt this heartbroken since my mother passed. Star Trek was a massive part of my childhood and now it seem that my childhood was take in both hands and was torn in two 😢... I literally am in pain. Picard was hugely painful for me. And the pain started long before the final episode. Although actually, I thought the Picard/Data scene in the last episode was one of the only good scenes in the entire show! I find it somewhat baffling that TNG fans hate new Trek for being "too woke", when TNG (my favourite too) was entirely "woke" in the original sense of the term. Picard, the show, was awful because of the terrible storytelling. I find all this "anti-woke" stuff overwrought, and a little scary. Despite disasters like Picard, there's plenty out there for everyone to enjoy.

Rarely watch modern stuff now and haven't watched BBC in years. I have my DVD collection of comedies: Are You Being Served?, Dad's Army, 'Allo 'Allo!, Blackadder, Monty Python, Open All Hours and Porridge. Likewise I have DVDs of Tom Baker's Doctor Who, Star Trek The Original Series, Blake's 7, UFO, Space 1999, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet.
Good idea to have hard copy of these classic shows, as there's already a cancellation program going on with the streaming services, re some of the 'problematic' content. If streaming is the ONLY access to any entertainment, we'd better watch out !!

As someone who suffers from depression, I totally agree with the demoralization this causes. I was a massive fan of Doctor Who my while life (since late 1970s) and when they started messing with its lore I was heartbroken when I walked away from it. I'm still a fan of the old series, but can't touch a thing related to the new series and am not even able to watch the older seasons knowing where it leads. Over time I convinced myself that there were other things I could move over to, like other TV shows or movies. But at this point, every single thing I've ever loved has been resurrected and spoiled. He-Man, She-Ra, Star Trek, MCU, Alien, Predator, Rocky, Ghostbusters, Terminator, Batman, Superman, Transformers, GI Joe. I honestly think Cobra Kai is the only thing that hasn't ruined the legacy of an old show for me. But the point I'm getting at is this - I suffer from depression and ALL the things I loved in life have been tarnished or outright spoiled. I can't watch them anymore. I have this massive gap in my life where those things I loved in my childhood once was. I can’t stand most “woke” shows. The writers are just horrible. Almost every one pushes an agenda.. I did find one that isn’t horrible but very watchable. And it came from a surprisingly odd place, Apple+ It engrossed me to binge watch it. “ For all mankind” isn’t perfect but it does give you nostalgia for a simpler time.
I love the show, but don't fool yourself, it is woke as all hell, it ticks ALL the boxes. The difference is, it is written intelligently and in a way where i can fully accept the premise and i am still very much entertained by the story, if anything this show is proof that it is possible to make a woke show and have it not suck.
Laughing and ridicule is not enough. They welcome ridicule, because they know they are winning the battle for the younger generations. Ridicule creates sympathy for them. We need to confront and expose the "woke" message at it's source and uncover it's origins.
What needs to be done is to find their hypocrisies and how they go against the very things they claim to support (and there's a lot, it helps to listen to the inwards criticisms from those on the left) and put it on blast. The tactic (straight out of Rules for Radicals, no less) they use works both ways, and when their flaws are so obvious, it can seriously damage their support and open people's eyes to the nonsense. Never let them hear the end of it, shatter and crush their illusion of ethics and morality they hide behind as a mask. There are so many horrible things they do, which even the moderates who support the surface level ideas will agree is abhorrent if they hear about it.

Their ideology must be challenged as well, and their tactics, as well as the origin of their ideologies and the people behind their organisations. This is how left-wing ideology is designed - it justifies them breaking the principles they claim to be promoting. This is what communist ideology does. One thing that I noticed on top of everything is how they always have to put swearing into things that don't need swearing. It's because the writers are talking like this in their daily lives. Look at twitter, where they use swearing in their tweets all the time. And I mean from their professional blue checkmark accounts. Something like this wouldn't be posssible just 10 years ago, when employers still had some sense of code of conduct. But the brats from 10 years ago are now "adults" and are in these postitions, thinking they can do anything without punity. They never had an asswhoopin' in their lives.
And the swearing is so juvenile. It's like a kid who's saying it over and over because mommy (the only one that was around) isn't around to get them in trouble any more. Like, I have no problem saying "fuck" or "shit", but I don't say it every other word like it's a novelty. If I'm saying it, there's going to be weight and meaning behind it. Things like dignity, self-respect, and maturity have no place in that crowd any more. Because, ultimately, they're undeveloped and immature and juvenile. That may be the worst part about them. They're a collective boat anchor of overgrown children that have been deliberately cultivated to weight society down and try their best to hold back everyone else.
Unnecessary swearing in movie/tv shows is cringy. It could be lazy writing or immature writers or just plain talentless writers. They get paid by writing below average level scripts. These writers should go back to schools or just quit writing.

Isn't the primary goal of every cooperation to make profit? There's something disturbing and insidious about it that goes deeper than I think these youtubers who mock it are realizing. Anyway, this video is one of the few poking at the answer to this question, and I'm very glad you made it. I think you're right on the money. It seems someone or some group with a LOT of power and wealth is playing the long game and getting their underlings into every facet of media & education (or using bribery), to demoralize a population. Corrupt heroes. Mock that which is good while praising evil. Leave the youth with no role models that teach them to stand up for good values. That's where the corrupt takeovers start, isn't it? It's similar to the way car owners contribute to the cost of roads by paying vehicle excise duty. When they first brought it the licence fee in in, everyone with a TV had to pay it. There were no videos or dvds or internet. The government still hasn't caught up. I don't pay for a licence because there are so many ways to evade this legally now.

I detest all the TV and movies being made now. Especially when it's a franchise that so rarely used strong language, and when it did, was meant to emphasize a serious or dramatic moment. (Data's "shit" remark in Generations notwithstanding, since that was kind of a mix of dramatic and comedic.)
While I don’t use profanity in my everyday speech I see how it’s application in a film can be a stand out moment to highlight emotional intensity. And yes, check out movies from the past. I started doing that years ago. First of all you discover just how good those filmakers and performers were. Then you find that you develop a higher standard for entertainment. The filmakers of the first half of the twentieth century were absolutely not saints but there was remarkable creative energy and innovation in that era. Even mediocre films from that time are better than what Hollywood is producing now. There is a 1980's documentary series made by Thames Television called "Hollywood" that is excellent and it's available free on You Tube. Also, "Buster Keaton, A Hard Act to Follow".
Film restoration brings out the quality and beauty of the photography of old films. I found it a very pleasant surprize to explore the films of the past. Sticking it to the woke scum is a bonus.

Agree on going back and watching older TV and movies. The stories were much better and better executed.
Every time I watch Platoon, Dead Presidents, Kill Bill 1&2, Pulp Fiction, etc I am amazed at just how fresh these movies still feel.
I am still spellbound by almost every scene.
I've started watching old school film noirs from the 40's and 50's, aka the junk B movies of the era and I'm amazed at how much better written they are then 95% of what's produced today. Everything's better today on the spectacle front (Budget, action scenes, special effects), but when it comes to substance (writing) most (so called) entertainment is lazy garbage, just hit the copy and paste button. No effort, no thinking required.

I think you're going about this incorrectly. Toughening and discipline is just going to lose your kids. The fact is stuff that only works when you have the power, if you don't then your kids will just see their Dad as a raving lunatic against a society that could clearly crush him like a bug.... I would endeavor you to mainly focusing on getting your kids to like you and influence them more passively, perhaps plan family activities and get them to participate in decision making so that they feel they have a say in deciding to become the people that they'll become. Otherwise you're just facing a losing battle in where your kids will simply just despise you and society will likely celebrate the destruction of your family.

As soon as Data said, "that you loved me", I literally started to tear up at the death of one of my favourite childhood characters. I've watched TNG thousands of times and I still watch it till this day and I have literally never felt this heartbroken since my mother passed. Picard was hugely painful for me. And the pain started long before the final episode. Although actually, I thought the Picard/Data scene in the last episode was one of the only good scenes in the entire show! I find it somewhat baffling that TNG fans hate new Trek for being "too woke", when TNG (my favourite too) was entirely "woke" in the original sense of the term. Picard, the show, was awful because of the terrible storytelling. I find all this "anti-woke" stuff overwrought, and a little scary. Despite disasters like Picard, there's plenty out there for everyone to enjoy.

but nuTrek tries to do the same with the weight of a sledgehammer, and has made the Federation itself THE enemy. I have no problem with the character of Picard being attracted by Data, for example, but it doesn't make any sense. Picard thought of Data as a friend, and sometimes more as a tool. If anyone should have been attracted to Data, it should have been Geordi, for example.
But realistically, what they SHOULD have done is leave the old characters alone. Write a few new characters, get us to like them, and if they wanted, start throwing subtle hints that they are gay, or trans, or whatever flavor du jour is. No, rather, they just start using it as a battering ram against the fans to say: You're racist!!! You're privileged!! You're homophobe! Transphobe!! with about the subtlety of a tactical nuke to destroy an anthill.
This is why it's failing.
Am I the only one who thought ‘that you loved me’ was meant in a non sexual way? That it was Picard loved Data as a fellow human? Not that it was great to see Picard old and frail and being berated in a very un-Starfleet way. Even the most hard-ass women Admirals were still respectful with Picard in TNG. These ‘strong characters’ usually show what’s inside the writer’s hearts, meanness, pettiness, jealousy and a desire for revenge. The Art always reveals the Artist.
Rarely watch modern stuff now and haven't watched BBC in years. I have my DVD collection of comedies: Are You Being Served?, Dad's Army, 'Allo 'Allo!, Blackadder, Monty Python, Open All Hours and Porridge.
Likewise I have DVDs of Tom Baker's Doctor Who, Star Trek The Original Series, Blake's 7, UFO, Space 1999, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet.
Good idea to have hard copy of these classic shows, as there's already a cancellation program going on with the streaming services, re some of the 'problematic' content. If streaming is the ONLY access to any entertainment, we'd better watch out !!

As someone who suffers from depression, I totally agree with the demoralization this causes. I was a massive fan of Doctor Who my while life (since late 1970s) and when they started messing with its lore I was heartbroken when I walked away from it. I'm still a fan of the old series, but can't touch a thing related to the new series and am not even able to watch the older seasons knowing where it leads. Over time I convinced myself that there were other things I could move over to, like other TV shows or movies. But at this point, every single thing I've ever loved has been resurrected and spoiled. He-Man, She-Ra, Star Trek, MCU, Alien, Predator, Rocky, Ghostbusters, Terminator, Batman, Superman, Transformers, GI Joe. I honestly think Cobra Kai is the only thing that hasn't ruined the legacy of an old show for me. But the point I'm getting at is this - I suffer from depression and ALL the things I loved in life have been tarnished or outright spoiled. I can't watch them anymore. I have this massive gap in my life where those things I loved in my childhood once was. It's easy to say "walk away from that show, there's other better shows out there" when it's one or two programmes being sullied, but when you're entire past is being destroyed like this it gets you down. What can I look forward to? One or two good original movies a year?

I can’t stand most “woke” shows. The writers are just horrible. Almost every one pushes an agenda.. I did find one that isn’t horrible but very watchable. And it came from a surprisingly odd place, Apple+ It engrossed me to binge watch it. “ For all mankind” isn’t perfect but it does give you nostalgia for a simpler time.

Laughing and ridicule is not enough. They welcome ridicule, because they know they are winning the battle for the younger generations. Ridicule creates sympathy for them. We need to confront and expose the "woke" message at it's source and uncover it's origins.
What needs to be done is to find their hypocrisies and how they go against the very things they claim to support (and there's a lot, it helps to listen to the inwards criticisms from those on the left) and put it on blast. The tactic (straight out of Rules for Radicals, no less) they use works both ways, and when their flaws are so obvious, it can seriously damage their support and open people's eyes to the nonsense. Never let them hear the end of it, shatter and crush their illusion of ethics and morality they hide behind as a mask.
There are so many horrible things they do, which even the moderates who support the surface level ideas will agree is abhorrent if they hear about it.
@@Stungunwol Yes their hypocrisy must be exposed. But that is not enough. There is far more to the left than hypocrisy. Their ideology must be challenged as well, and their tactics, as well as the origin of their ideologies and the people behind their organisations.
They have created ideologies which supposedly rationalise their hypocrisy, to make it seem as if it is actually justice. This is how left-wing ideology is designed - it justifies them breaking the principles they claim to be promoting. This is what communist ideology does.
Hence many people support the left despite their hypocrisy.
Many people who support them, as you say, acknowledge the hypocrisy yet continue to support the basic ideology. They dismiss it as fringe extremism within the movement or as over-enthusiastic or emotional people within the movement. Exposing the hypocrisy doesn't expose the roots of the movement itself.

Reminds me of a passage in Flann O'Brien's "At Swim-Two-Birds", where an author leaves his unfinished manuscript unattended and these other characters find it and insert chapters of their own, torturing the hero and dragging him through the mud, before putting things back the way they were so that when the author comes back he has no idea what has just happened to his beloved creations.

One thing that I noticed on top of everything is how they always have to put swearing into things that don't need swearing. It's because the writers are talking like this in their daily lives. Look at twitter, where they use swearing in their tweets all the time. And I mean from their professional blue checkmark accounts. Something like this wouldn't be posssible just 10 years ago, when employers still had some sense of code of conduct. But the brats from 10 years ago are now "adults" and are in these postitions, thinking they can do anything without punity. They never had an asswhoopin' in their lives.
And the swearing is so juvenile. It's like a kid who's saying it over and over because mommy (the only one that was around) isn't around to get them in trouble any more. Like, I have no problem saying "fuck" or "shit", but I don't say it every other word like it's a novelty. If I'm saying it, there's going to be weight and meaning behind it.
Things like dignity, self-respect, and maturity have no place in that crowd any more. Because, ultimately, they're undeveloped and immature and juvenile. That may be the worst part about them. They're a collective boat anchor of overgrown children that have been deliberately cultivated to weight society down and try their best to hold back everyone else.
Unnecessary swearing in movie/tv shows is cringy. It could be lazy writing or immature writers or just plain talentless writers. They get paid by writing below average level scripts. These writers should go back to schools or just quit writing.
Excessive swearing is clearly a sign of ignorance.

Just before coming across this video, I've been watching youtubers review these cringey bad comic books and netflix adaptations of beloved classics. Most youtubers see it as a case of stupidity and laugh at it as such; Woke people thinking they will find success pushing more woke garbage, and then being sorely disappointed to find for the 189th time that woke media doesn't sell.
Well, after so much trial and error, these companies HAVE to know that these stories aren't profitable, right? They HAVE to know, by now. And yet it keeps being peddled. Why? Isn't the primary goal of every cooperation to make profit? There's something disturbing and insidious about it that goes deeper than I think these youtubers who mock it are realizing.
Anyway, this video is one of the few poking at the answer to this question, and I'm very glad you made it. I think you're right on the money.
It seems someone or some group with a LOT of power and wealth is playing the long game and getting their underlings into every facet of media & education (or using bribery), to demoralize a population. Corrupt heroes. Mock that which is good while praising evil. Leave the youth with no role models that teach them to stand up for good values. That's where the corrupt takeovers start, isn't it? Getting the next generation on your side while waiting until enough of your opposition either die off or are killed off?

It's similar to the way car owners contribute to the cost of roads by paying vehicle excise duty. When they first brought it the licence fee in in, everyone with a TV had to pay it. There were no videos or dvds or internet. The government still hasn't caught up. I don't pay for a licence because there are so many ways to evade this legally now.

When there was talk of The Doctor becoming a woman, the attitude of some of the writers on Twitter, and I'm talking about Paul Cornell, Barnaby Edwards and Mark Gatiss among others here. Their attitude basically was "We are doing this whether you like it or not and your opinion means nothing"
I detest all the TV and movies being made now. I don't think it's down to some cultural-Marxist masterplan, but rather that they are handing out writing, directing and acting jobs based on skin colour and gender instead of talent or relevant experience. It's a virtue signalling competition between corporations, that we as consumers can choose to opt-out of. I cancelled Netflix and Amazon subscriptions and am unlikely to visit a cinema for the next decade at least.

Optimistically, when you said "meant to suck" I thought you were going to say that writers are intentionally making woke TV shows and movies as unappealing as possible as a way of subtly fighting back against the woke agenda, driving profits into the ground in order to force the higher-ups to abandon wokeness or go bankrupt.

It's been frustrating because I have been upset that this movie sucked and that show is terrible and kept hoping they would get better directors or writers.
