    I myself have quiet a few of historical airsoft guns. Sadly most of them are only good for decoration. The other down side is it's usually hard to find upgrades for them. But nevertheless, they're cool to have!

    I know that Ares has made a really cool Kar98k in the same series of those Lee Enfields. I hope they make a Springfield 1903 too, my personal favorite in Sniper Elite.

      I’d like them to make a Vetterli rifle, Carcano or a Mannlicher M95. Really just any historical weapon they can, although I probably wouldn’t be able to afford any of them.

    17:10 And you're forgetting the most awsome version next to the RWAs' , the one from KTW.
    That rifle looks astonishing and it should be a collectors item. As the Spring in it is pretty weak and there are hardly any spare parts available for it, incase you want to skirm with it.

    Unfortunately the magazine on the L42A1 is the wrong profile, the 7.62mm NATO mag being significantly different to the original 303 design.

    • @williamflowers9435
      @williamflowers9435 2 года назад

      Exactly… you’d think they’d have thought to make the proper magazine. Maybe they’ll figure it out if the L42A1 doesn’t sell and offer it as an aftermarket option.
      It would still be sellable to those who bought the other two versions since some (Ishapore mostly) were converted to 7.62 NATO.

    I recently got mine and to tell you all... Its not that bad of a performer. Doesn't have the über performance of a VSR-10 but its certainly workable.
    And C'mon... Bolt is stiff? Really? Its not that stiff as the review says. It's just normal until your break the rifle in after firing it. The bolt is smooth to operate. Takes a bit of oomph but its not really that much.
    I have to say that its probably my best purchase of 2022 overall.

    As well as using the same trades they didn’t change the mag well and mag on the 7.62 NATO L42A1 either. Bit strange on something touted as Museum Grade. I’m still excited to get my hands on one of these though.

    • @williamflowers9435
      @williamflowers9435 2 года назад

      They need to offer the 7.62x51 magazine as an aftermarket option at least. Can also be used with the basic version since some (mostly by Ishapore) were converted to 7.62 NATO

    • @williamflowers9435
      @williamflowers9435 2 года назад

      There’s also an extra screw on the receiver just in front of the bolt handle that shouldn’t be there.
      The scope is what makes the (T) version worth getting despite the screw and lack of serrations on the top of the hand guard… but as you said, Museum Grade???

    Does Ares make scoped variants of the KAR-98K? I'll admit video games got me interested in these rifles, Sniper Elite 4 especially. Not to mention I've gotten into firearms the last few years, learning that WW2 surplus ammo is being price gouged to the moon. Good luck getting a decent amount of 8mm Mauser or .303 Brit.

    It's ARES. No matter the externals I wouldn't trust it to perform without significant upgrades IF those parts are non-proprietary, available and assuming the whole system is reliable.... which is a massive and probably inaccurate assumption based on their track record. But it comes in a plastic gun case with a wooden texture!

      It’s always the same with these historic guns. They charge a fortune for crap performance on a basic springer internally, because they know people want these and a few will pay…. I’ll stick to my S&T SMLE, only cost £299 and seems to perform better than this….

      No they didn't, the Aussies never used the L42A1, they never even adopted the No4 Mk1, they continued to used the SMLE. The L42A1 didn't even enter British service until 1970, the No4T having remained in use as the sniper rifle until then.

    • @williamflowers9435
      @williamflowers9435 2 года назад

      @@TarnishUK In the late 1970s, a dozen L42A1s along with the CES were imported into Australia for Army trials. Two of those rifles "lost" their telescopic sights, and there were 10 complete rifles in storage at Randwick Barracks in the early 1990s. At some point soon after the rifles arrived in Australia, the Scout Regiment telescopes were removed from the chests, possibly for use by Army snipers who were then still equipped with No. 1 Mk III High Mount .303 sniper rifles prior to the eventual issue of the Parker-Hale rifle in 1982.

    The dream Lee Enfield still hasn't come out
    L42A1 with proper magazine, and No.1 Mk.5 rifle(pick luxuary lee enfield). No.4 is too low-cost, No.1 Mk.3 has too long eye relief.
    CO2 powered, not springers.
    More accurate trigger shape.
    Stainless steel was a good shot, I appreciate it.

    Issues right off the bat. They cost £650. You don't get a hex key to adjust the thing which is a massive red flag? why would they skimp out on that? Secondly they're both sniper rifles, why are the internals not built for 500 fps? Why does a Tac-41 cost £200 less but out-performs this by miles??? You're buying the external thats it. If you dont plan to hang this on your wall then do not buy full stop.
