Love that John is becoming more relaxed on video and letting viewers see his delightful personality.
My grandma always said “ Your attitude will determine what kind of day you will have. You can be negative and you will definitely draw negativity, or you can Trust God and look for the good in every situation. Look at each situation as a learning opportunity with positivity and you will have a great day.
This year I have forgotten what my grandma said. Once I remembered what she said then things got better.
We need to prayerfully jump into 2021 with faith that God will see us through anything because he has and he will!!!
I have breast cancer but I choose to be positive no matter how I feel and it makes a world of difference

Buying a new house is very exciting!! And yes John, with (soon to be) 5 ladies in the house, more bathrooms is a must!!!
John wanted his own bathroom outside. The new house has an outdoor shower. Seems like he got what he wanted 😂. Can't tear down the outdoor shower!

I love the idea of making 1 week goals. I never believed in a New Years resolution just because it’s hard to pick a goal in Jan that you can actually know is possible to stick to.
"We cant be perfect all the time"...that's what I like. The laughs, craziness and down to earth moments. So the last few minutes of this video in particular were amazing
New Year's Resolution- 1. finish my last semester of nursing school. 2. Pass my license exam. 3. Go where God sends me. 4. Treat myself the way I want others to treat me.

God Bless You !We need great nurses,there has been a bad shortage the last 5 years.I was a nurse in O.R. for 40 years.My daughter,son,and, son - in - law are all nurses God bless our nurses,doctors, paramedics,EMT'S,policemen and firemen.God .God place your blessings of Protection on them.
Nursing was my career and Loved it. Also my spouse died @46 years old so grateful for income now a great pension. My purpose now is helping the world become a better place. Love sewing.

Instead of a New Year resolutions I'm going to do a New Year Prayer. I think we need to switch the focus from our wants to our needs and the needs of others.
My daughter took this workshop while on a school trip with her chorus. They told the kids to write down every day three good things that happened, and one thing they were thankful for. It's been almost three years and she's been doing it every day since. It helps her to see the positive and has helped her not be so "woe is me" all the time. Stephanie
I had a feeling that was the big news...we've been married for 48 years and the first 3 years we rented. I'm sure our rent was a fraction of what you pay monthly in Florida...after 6.5 years you have paid approximately $100,000 or more in rent. Imagine if that had been paid on a house! Good luck with the house hunting. This was a fun video...y'all were so relaxed and having fun.

You guys sounded just like my husband and I. We just bought our first home in October after being married for 10 years. We would laugh at each others want list for our home. Crazy thing is that the majority of the things on our list wasn't even checked on the home we picked. You will make compromises. Its like find the right wedding dress, husband, etc...when you know you know. This house and land was perfect! Good luck with house hunting. Its so much fun and stressful at the same time. Its such a weird feeling.
It’s all about creating a gratitude attitude. Then joy can always be found, even in the midst of a crappy year. Good luck on the home search!

John, it's normal to feel stress in buying a house. We bought and on paper we did not have enough money each month, but God provided and blessed us and we never missed a tithe even! 25 years later we see God's hand throughout.

Heartfelt prayers. Years ago my husband made it through a rare cancer with no known protocols other than surgery and Whipple. Prayers for a good outcome.

Congratulations on your new house looking in 2021. Finding the perfect house is fun. The first house we bought is the same house we still live in. That was back in 1985. I love my house and I will never move. I think I feel that way because when I was a kid we moved so much! I laughed when you said 3 bathrooms. Last year we finally added on to our home and it was a bathroom. I never use the new bathroom it is my husbands bathroom. It is nice to have your own bathroom! Looking forward to seeing the new house you pick out! Thanks for sharing!
Congrats guys on moving! Suggestion:Move to a state in between Florida and Tennessee so your closer to both Alyssa and John's family's so both sets of grandparents can stay closer to the girls. Probably also would suggest waiting until after Maci Jo is born too to move so your settled being a family of 6.

You seem happy so you must love the Lord for that is where true happiness is found. Reading through the bible 2 times this year not just one time is the good goal and I too was the fourth girl in my family, so this makes it interesting to see the future of your little one on the way.

Congratulations! Owning a house, truly is an investment worth making. I don't have any new years resolutions. I only have a goal, which is to get through chemo and hopefully get a lot more time with my 3 young boys and my husband. 2020 got real rough with us in november, when I was diagnosed with a rare form of aggressive cancer. However we remain hopeful for 2021. And Alyssa is right. Even in the hardest of times, there's always something to be grateful for. Every single day. Wishing you all the best for 2021. May you find your dream house and make it a home where your hearts will be filled with love and joy!💖🎉

The bathroom argument. 🤣 We have a 2700 SQ foot farmhouse, there are 5 of us (we have 3 girls) and only ONE bathroom. It's literally 30 sq feet of floor tile plus a bathtub. 🙈😆 our 2021 goal is to add our second bathroom finally but that 3rd bathroom... Even a 1/2 bath, is on my goal list esp as all these girlies get older. 😏 If my husband is trying to get ready and there are even 2 kids in the bathroom, he's saying he needs his space. 😆 Happy new year!

I am thankful to make it through a day without crying 😢 my husband passed away in 2018 I am so thankful that God gave him to me our total time that we did share our lives was 21 years my husbands name was John
John and I got married August 11,2001 We did celebrate our 21 Anniversary and on August 24, 2018 my John passed away this was a blessing so it’s truly a blessing that we were able to be together for the time we had
Love the idea of setting a one week time for the goals or resolution. That definitely feels so much more manageable than thinking for a whole year ahead of time.
I haven’t watched in a while, and I have to say, it’s crazy the difference of how comfortable you’ve both gotten on camera since then. You guys are awesome & so funny! 😄

My resolution for this year is to find the positive things in spite of difficult times. As a health care worker I work in a nursing home and see the challenges of residents who are separated from their families. Due to covid 19 currently there are no visits allowed unless someone is expected to pass away then a family member can be with them. I live in Canada and hope that soon the restrictions will be lifted and families can start visiting again. I have seen how this virus affects the elderly I work with. I hope we all can work together to get this virus under control so that things can get back to some sense of normal.

If you are renting your current home how were you able to do renovations to it? I know John's answer will be with our hands 😁😁but seriously just curious.
I love that first sip of coffee and everything is just right, right amount of coffee, sugar and milk and you know everything is off to a good start 😊
New years goal:
Spiritual life goal- read a morning/evening devotional.
Financial goal- pay off 2 loans
Business goal- make $1000 more then 2 years ago.
Relationship goal- answering the "How are you doing?" question with an answer more then I'm fine.
Health goal- try new veggies and fruits for healthier meals and be more consistent with exercise.
