I've started using UV Polar Chenille instead of yarn with great results.

Nice pattern and video. I wonder how that fly would look with a few strands of EP Triggerpoint wound around the yarn once the yarn body was established to give the fly some sparkle and sheen?

What is the diameter of the baby blanket yarn?

Just checked out a similar yarn product on Amazon from a company called Yitaqi. The size range goes from 1 to 19. Not sure which would be best.
Makes sense that the larger the hook the larger the diameter. Any thoughts?

Great fly worm. Patons Bohemian Yarn I think is being discontinued, so I’m using a substitute. One problem I’m having is that when the worm gets saturated, it’s like trying to throw a brick. Is there a water repellent spray you would recommend to keep the worm as light as possible?

The fly has to get saturated in order for it to sink. You most likely need to up a size or three on your fly rod to be able to cast them. I use a 5 wt TFO BVK or a 6 wt Orvis Access paired with a Teeny T-130 Sinking line. The heavy sinking line helps to cast the heavy fly.
