Time has always been something on my mind. Time waits for no one and tomorrow isn't promised.
I feel like everyone except me respects these facts. I feel like Time is taken advantage of. I feel like these facts are being mocked. Wasted on needless things. Wasted by procrastination. Action never taken because it can always be done later. I feel like I'm disrespected when I express time. Timelines. Deadlines. I'm not saying I flip out when an agreed time has lapsed. Not exactly. It stems from my childhood. My mom would tell me 'BE right here after school. I'll be here to pick you up.' I waited. I was 6 years old. I waited. Until the sun was gone and it was super dark. She never showed up. Not one time did she show up. Walking more than a mile home in the dark for a little girl was scary. I'd get home only to be in trouble for coming home so late. I don't know why she couldn't remember that she told me to wait. I always did what I was told to do. I never talked back. When she asked me why I was so late getting home I didn't know what to say. I never snapped back with 'You told me to wait.' No. That was calling her a liar.
What ive always wondered... why doesn't anyone respect my time?
