You guys did a wonderful job on this restoration! All of the sweepstakes aircraft given away over the years were excellent specimens after the extra work. Whoever the winner is will enjoy this 170!

Amazing AOPA. Whenever I hear from you guys, there’s a good chance you remind me who you are. While this choice of a giveaway should be celebrated because it’s a great classic most of us would love to own, in this time it’s just a reminder of your failures and true allegiances.
Did no one in your organization think this might remind us all that you have become the Antique Owners and Pilots Association?
Next year, how about you start a campaign to tell Cessna to go pound sand until they offer a modern replacement for the 172? They are basically cementing our current state by continuing to sell an out of date design they really don’t want to build anymore themselves.

Sweet! Great job! What's the cruise speed with the larger engine/CS prop?
Looks like 117 IAS in the video. Doesn't seem like much of an improvement. My guess is that with the extra drag from the wheels and the wing cuff that engine and prop basically negate those effects.
@@Saml01 Thanks, that's interesting because I've read that cuffs don't really affect top/cruise speed, only lowering stall speeds. Maybe the Alaska tires, but surprising 50hp (1/3 more than stock) didn't make a bump in cruise speed :)
It'll cruise anywhere between 115 and 135 mph IAS, depending on the power setting and how much fuel you want to burn. 115 is in the 22/23 squared range at about 8 gph, 135 is 25 squared and burning 9.5-10 gph. Prior to the upgrades, it was cruising at around 120/125 mph IAS
