I started a new series if you haven’t watched it yet. I breakdown framing, lighting and gear I used on some of my favourite music videos: ruclips.net/video/FzcB9fD_j3s/видео.html
I'm thinking of getting the Canon 70-200mm f4, Sigma 18-35mm f1.8, and Sigma 10-20mm for my GH-5. Which speedbooster should I get? Should I get ultra or xl? I am more interested in filming videos than pictures.
I'm most likely going to purchace this lens and wanted to know if you know any good 6 stop ND filters for this lens. Is this one good?: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FZ83QE4?th=1
I picked up one of these last year from a local pawn shop. It was in a camera bag, along with a beaten but usable D5200, a decent Nikon 50/1.4, a Rokinon fisheye, and a couple of kit lenses.. all for $250. When I dug down to the bottom of the bag and saw the Sigma hiding there, I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough.
Dude this lens is an absolute beast! I use this for 98% of the shots that I shoot! Low light performance is amazing and the quality of the glass is second to none!
I don't know why I'm watching this. I've owned the lens for almost three years now and I use it for 90% of my shots. Love this lens so much, your review was great!
I mainly use mine for my video work, and absolutely love the lens. It is a heavy lens, and if you are using a mount adapter, that adds more to the weight and length. Its no an issue for me as I am doing all my video work inside. I love it when people focus on the video aspect of this lens, which is amazing!
I got this lens about three months ago for my BMPCC4K. I absolutely love it. I've run into a couple RUclipsrs who insist that it's too sharp for daylight shooting. Personally, I don't see it. But, if you want to "soften" the image, you can always add film grain in post and that's been known to soften the imagery. But, I love all of the footage I get out of it.
I bought this lens in 2018 for $450, it is the most amazing lens I have ever owned of its kind, in fact there is no other like it, I cant understand why there isn’t a million video reviews on how great this lens is?! I am so glad to see your review, I guess this lens will remain a little secret for a while longer. TX again Lou
I just purchased this lense for my new Sony a6400 from B&H after seeing it demonstrated for RUclips creators. It's a game changer I was blown away by the technology behind it. Sorry it was too late for your affiliate link. Paid $638 on sale at B&ah.
Many people say short focal range. Ok, 18-35 is not that long but the reason is the constant 1.8 aperture. A longer focal range would result in a variable or higher aperture. Indeed this lens combines at least 3 fast primes. On FF format 28, 35 and 50 mm. And the optical quality is even better than some primes. Great deal.
For real! So good! This lens has been my workhorse for the past 3 years! Thanks for sharing, love your channel! I would love to see more about cinematography!
The thing about it is that it is a little to good. I bought it used for about 350, mint condition about 2 years ago. That ment I had a bit over to spend. So I went for the Sigma 50-100 1.8 as a complement for ranged/portrait. The 18-35 is more useful for what I shoot so it stays on the camera like 90% of the time. Think that i'm gonna stick with my lenses for quite some time. I believe that the lenses has saved me from going through different camerahouses because the result is still so good. Doing my 6th year on 700d. (rebel t5i). Will probably go for a Sony or Fuji replacement next year. Recommend getting NISI Variable Neutral Density Filters for video to go wide open in lighter conditions. Personally will look deeper into the Tiffen Black Pro mist mentioned. Looks interesting!
Thank you so much for making this video! I've been shooting on my DSLR for about a year but I only recently found the time and discipline to learn more about my camera rather than just sticking to auto mode. I bought a 50mm lens to up my game, but I, unfortunately, didn't know that I had a crop sensor camera or what a crop sensor was in general. I've been craving a wide-angle lens ever since and was apprehensive to purchase this lens since some reviews were really old. I'm glad to see someone give their take on how it holds up in 2019. Keep up the good work man
I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT REVIEWS ON AND OFF FOR MONTHS NOW AND OUT OF ALL THE REVIEWS I LOOKED AT, YOU REALLY SOLD ME ON IT!!! I'M DEFINITELY GETTING IT NOW!! IM MORE OF A VIDEO GUY THOUGH
Just picked up this lens for my Canon 90D : ) I would definitely love to see some videos of you going over your DP work with this lens. It’s something I’m super interested in that I feel like no one really discusses on here so I hope you consider it. It was a great review thanks!
One of the realest and best reviewers around. Gets right to the point and all the B-roll contains useful footage with no fluff. Great stuff Zed Pro Media. I use the Sigma 18-35 on the Panasonic S1 when shooting 4K60. The image quality and light gathering capability, especially at the price point, is just terrific. Such a useful lens. I also use this with the Fuji X-H1 and the Fringer adapter. The images are as sharp as the Fuji primes, but with the convenience of a zoom. It is heavy and longer than I would like, but that's the trade-off.
I've been looking out for great camera channels for a few years now. You have 127k subs and I've only just found you. It's just frustrating and weird how RUclips's algorithm hides awesome content from us.
I too have one for my 70d but now upgraded to A7III planning to sell all my Canon lens except for this one. Will surely get an MC-11 soon. Love how it works....
Hey man, quick question. It’s a dumb one, but I’m new to this whole lenses. But for the sigma 18-35mm, Does it matter what kind of style of lens I buy for it? Like the Canon, Nikon, or the pentax, Will they all work for the viltrox speed booster? I have the pocket 4k. I’m only asking to make sure.
@@Pre_Boom_bescent Okay, I see. Thank you so much. Again, sorry if that sounded like a dumb question. But yeah, just want to be clear, regardless of the different styles, same mount size right?

One of the first lenses I purchased when I got back into the hobby in 2015. Great quality lens and still use it today. May trade out my Canon 70D for a 90D to get more out of it.
It's great for photos, but you can't use for it for video (unless you want to always overlay a different audio) because of the loud autofocus motor which gets picked up by both the internal microphones and Rode mics as well. Had to return it for that reason.
I watched this and remembered I have an eos to nx adapter and tried it on my Samsung NX 500. Insanely sharp and a low light beast. You're right, I will never sell this lens, it works well on so many systems.
I use this lens on my GH5 + Metabones speedbooster, works great, if I was in the US with that current deal you mentioned I'd almost consider buying a backup one lol
I feel like this lens miss focuses a lot in photography with auto focus. On the mirrorless eos R which I now have.. it should not miss focus, but still does. It kinda back or front focuses a little. For video it is simply gold!
The last week I am using it professional for concertphotography on my Fujifilm X-T3. Wish I did it much earlier. The lens is better than all the Fujifilm lenses.
I have bought and sold this lens 3 times and every time I regretted it. I now have one that im going to keep forever, too good of a lens for my Fuji XH1.
I had to sell mine together with the small Canon 200d. It got to a point where it was missing focus too often; camera would indicate that it found focus but when you’d check the shot it was slightly off. Ruined a whole session and sold it. I am still waiting for Fuji to create something similar 😅

Hi there, just saw your vid as a guy I know is selling his used for $500. Course I'm gonna check it out to see how well it works on my Canon Rebel T7i (the seller informed me it's adapted to work with canon camera's). I plan on using this lens for nighttime videos and photos (for videos I plan on using a zhiyun crane plus 3 with it), and from your review it sounds like this will have everything I need. Granted I didn't like how the tracking feature worked while on the canon camera (from the video example you used), but I feel like I can get use to that and make some adjustments when shooting. Thank you for making this video, it really really helped
Great to see you post something about this amazing lens. Your video with EF to Fuji sold me to do XT3 w/grip and this lens has my main setup. I do a lot of event shooting in low lens and this lens hasn't disappointed me. My only thing is wanting to see was it worth it to go to XT3 or XH1 for the IBIS. Thanks for the video and your content keep it up!
Hi, I'm XT3 user. I consider the possibility to buy this lens with fringer adapter. I want to ask you, how the AF is working eith an adapter, and if there is some loose of lightpower due to adapter, is it still F1.8? Thank you in advance
@@nikolozchkhetiani5918 AF is pretty good. I only have a few misses but probably mostly user error at that rate. Lightpower? It's a f1.8 why would it lose its aperture? It's apc lens on a apc sensor.

This Lens is dope 🔥🔥 Footage is crisp. Great video man
Nice vid man! Diggin that filter too!
I can't wait to make the most of this lens. Had it a while but I don't think I've been using to to it's best
man... incredible video... you back up your expertise so well! Awesome! I buy one! right now!
Definitely interested in the cinematography aspect!!! Definitely make some videos about it please!
Completely agree! I just love the video image I get on this. Top Lens!
Dude I watch many content creators especially in the space of photo- and videography, and you just now became my new favorite!
Also I am highly intersted in some videography content, and maybe tell a bit about your carrer and how you started out. Thanks!
Also you just made me feel better about my purchase, i ordered mine from eglobalcentral and got it for 550€ new! ef mount. nikon is a bit cheaper
this video helps so much!! im looking for my next lens and this has been the most helpful video for this specific one!
The lighting setup and the colors of the shots of you talking to the camera are so damn clean.
Michael Blaze thanks bro
Really wish that this lens would have a Fuji x mount version...
If only...
2019 update is just what I needed! Thanks man!
Is it good for vlogs?
I literally had my finger on the buy button, until I saw your video in the rain. Why isn't the adapter weather proof!! It's ALMOST the perfect lens for the X-H1.
Thank you for making this video, it really really helped
just got mine for $650. i love it
Video convinced me to pick one up! Thanks dude!
Great review! Please more cinematography videos and tips, your colors look great.
Thanks, this review has helped me decide this is the lens I will purchase.
Great vid, definitely pinpointed my interest on this lens!
You made me buy this lens! Thanks
I bought this lens when it was first released and it has remained one of my favorites!
Sigma 18-35 is great but use the Sigma 50-100 1.8 way more. Would have to say that’s my go to lens out of all my lenses.
Oooh bts light setup and shot placement. Subbed
I want the sigma 17-50 and the 18-35 i heard they're very beautiful lens and very tack sharp
awesome dude!
this vid has been my influence on getting one for my bmpcc 4k!
